Chapter 1
Victor opened the lighthouse door scanning the empty living room.
''Yoo-hoo! Monk? Lucy? Anyone home?'' He sighed beginning to walk out the door ''Guess not'' he almost had the door completely shut when he heard Kevin come pounding down the stairs.
''Victor! What are you doing here?'' Kevin asked startled.
''Well Hello to you too! I just decided I'd see how my son is dealing with his impending fatherhood'' Victor smiled.
''I'm well….'' Kevin started before hearing Lucy scream down the stairs...
''I HATE being pregnant!''
Kevin sighed ''Well let's just say I'm dealing'' Kevin motioned over to the sofa ''Have a seat and join in on the fun''
''Is she really that bad?'' Victor asked.
''She's….'' Kevin began has Lucy eased herself down the stairs.
''I hate being pregnant I just hate it! I hate the sore back! I hate the aching head but the thing I absolutely DESPISE more then anything else has to be the morning sickness!! I mean really I'm five months pregnant isn't this supposed to go away by now?!?!'' Lucy whined before noticing Victor sitting on the couch laughing.
''Oh Victor, Victor, Victor!'' Lucy exclaimed grabbing Victor hugging him.
''Well hello Lucy! And how are you feeling?''
''Ugh!'' Lucy moaned plopping down on the couch next to Kevin ''I feel horrible in the most absolutely great way – I mean I suppose all of this is worth it right?''
''That it is!'' Victor grinned ''In fact I can remember when me and Melanie were expecting Kevin and Ryan!''
''Oh! I just love your stories! Please do tell!'' Lucy exclaimed excitedly has Kevin rolled his eyes.
''Well… I suppose if Monk doesn't mind…'' Victor started.
''No! Of course he doesn't! Right Doc?'' Lucy asked turning to Kevin.
''Well…actually..'' Kevin said before Lucy glared at him.
''RIGHT Doc?'' Lucy pressured.
Kevin let out an exasperated sigh, no way he could win this one ''Right'' He mumbled.

''Victor!'' Melanie yelled down the stairs to her husband.''Victor I need your help! Now!''
Victor Collins was working on some equations in his study when he heard his wife's anguished cries coming from the bathroom upstairs. Dropping everything he was doing he rushed up the stairs and what he saw scared him.
Melanie was ghost white and hunched over the toilet. Scooping her up he took her to the bedroom and laid her down on the bed and sat next to her.
She could see the concern on his face and was touched by it. Touching the side of his face she smiled,''Victor I know you are concerned about me and I love it that you are but this is part of being pregnant. The shows on tv make it look glamerous but they happen to leave out the morning sickness and back aches and--''
''I know. Sweetie it is just with you carrying my child it is harder for me not to worry than to actually worry.'' Victor said taking her hand and kissing it.''Now get some sleep and I will be downstairs if you need anything.''
''Okay. I love you Victor.''
''I love you too, Melie.'' Victor said.
After Victor left, Melanie rubbed her stomach and said,''You are more trouble than it is worth to have kids.'' Little did she know that Victor heard everything she said.

''That sure sounds like Melanie'' Kevin frowned.
''But your daddy was worried about you'' Lucy grinned.
''So'' Kevin replied.
''So I just think that's very cute is all – because you know I know exactly what Melanie was talking about because you… you get that very same worried look every time I feel a little sick''
''Well..'' Kevin hesitated.
''Well your worried about me admit it''
''Okay so I worry about you maybe I wouldn't have to if you wouldn't stay up all night arguing with me about baby names!'' Kevin pointed out.
''Well if you would just agree!'' Lucy said before turning to Victor ''Kevin Junior – I like it''
Victor just chuckled has Kevin argued.
''Well I hate it I wouldn't wish my name on any child especially my own''
''Oh well excuse me but you didn't seem to have a problem with it back then when we picked it out…'' Victor explained.

A few days after the morning sickness incident, Victor was again working on his equations while he was waiting for Melanie to get home from the doctor's office. Today she would find out if she was having multiple children or just one.
Victor would not have made such a big deal about it but because his Melie was only five months pregnant and looked as if she was six months along caused him to wonder. Melanie did not want to go but after Victor convinced her to she went.
Just then the door to their Jasmine Island house slammed shut and Melanie said,''Well Dr. Collins you are the proud father of twins. The problem is that we don't know if they are identical/fraternal or boys or girls or one of each.''
''I could care less about what the sex of the babies are. I just want them healthy and I want you to want them to be here as much as I do.'' Victor accused.
''Darling of course I want them as much as you do what gave you the impression that I don't?''
''I heard you the other day telling OUR children that they are more trouble than they are worth. why would you say that.''
Laughing she said,''Honey, I was exhausted and weak. I say things I don't mean when I am like that. Of course I want these children.''
''I have two combinations of names for them.'' Victor said, putting his hand on top of the twin on the right.''This one is named Kevin if it is a boy and the other one will be named Ryan if it is a boy.''
After the twin on the right 'heard' it's name it kicked Melanie as if to say,''Glad to meet ya dad, I'm Kevin.'' Victor and Melanie laughed. Things were going to be okay..
