Marlena's letter to Belle

Dearest Belle,

When I held you in my arms on the day of your birth, I was filled with a joy I've never known. Every moment we've shared increased my joy. I cannot express the pain I feel being separated from you. I am doing all I can to get home to you.

When you look at the pictures of us together, feel my arms around you; see my smile; and feel how I adore you, how much I ache to hold you. How I miss the sweet smell of your hair at bedtime, the smooth warmth of your skin, and the tickle of your breathe on my neck. My dearest Belle, when you think of your mother, know how richly and how completely you were loved.

And my dearest love, if I don't come home, I will always be watching over you...and loving you. You must know that nothing I did in my life, brought me more joy...and more pride...than simply being your mother.

Whatever happens in our lives, one thing will never change. You will always be my beloved Belle.

Momma
