MARLENA'S PENTHOUSE BEDROOM
(The moment has finally arrived: The door opens and John carries his beloved Marlena into bedroom. They gaze longingly into each other's eyes, Marlena's eyes filled with tears)
MARLENA: Tell me this isn't a dream
JOHN: It is a dream, Doc. Mine and yours. And now it's finally going to come true. We're together now. Nothing will ever part us again.
MARLENA: If only I'd told you sooner how much I love you. We've lost so much time...
JOHN: Tonight we're going to make up for all that lost time.
(He kisses her passionately. On their hunger for each other...)

Act I
MARLENA'S PENTHOUSE BEDROOM
(Pickup John and Marlena breathless as they break from their kiss. They look at each other longingly for a moment, then John carries Marlena to the bed and lays her down. And they kiss again, this time undressing each other, anxious to consummate their love. As their clothes fall to the ground and they start to finally make mad passionate love...)

MARLENA'S PENTHOUSE BEDROOM
(Unbridled passion continues for Marlena and John as neither wants to rush the moment they've been fantasizing about for so long. They take their time to savor each other's bodies, drinking in every moment, both overwhelmed by being together. On their heated lovemaking...)

Act III
MARLENA'S PENTHOUSE BEDROOM
(John and Marlena lie in each other's arms)
MARLENA: (smiles) I didn't think it was possible... that this moment could be any more wonderful than I dreamed it would be.
JOHN: (caresses her cheek/whispers:) Doc...
MARLENA: My darling. How I've missed you...
JOHN: Doc... Why didn't you tell me sooner?
MARLENA: I believed I was doing it for the right reason. To protect your child... to protect you.
JOHN: (grim) "My" child. Somehow, I still can't let go of him... can't believe he's... not mine.
MARLENA: It'll take time, John. Give it time.
JOHN: (angrily:) How could Kristen do this to me?! To all of us? And how could I have been such a fool?
MARLENA: Don't say that! You were trusting and loyal... You committed yourself to Kristen and that baby. The only one who should feel guilty and ashamed is Kristen.
JOHN: (eyes her) I can't even imagine how you must feel about her...
MARLENA: The important thing is that we're free now. I have no need for retribution. I have you. Kristen has nothing.
JOHN: I've always loved you, Doc. I've tried over the years to deny it to myself, to persuade myself that the feelings I had for you were just because we shared a child, such an incredible history. But now I know... it's because you have my heart.
MARLENA: And you have mine. Forever.
JOHN: (shakes his head) There's finally nothing in our way, Doc. God bless Roman... even he gave us his blessing. He wanted us to be together, to be happy.
MARLENA: His prayers have been answered. And so have mine.
(looks into his eyes/whispers)
So have mine.
(As they pull into another kiss...)
CUT TO:...
Act IV
MARLENA'S PENTHOUSE BEDROOM
MARLENA: What's wrong?
JOHN: Not a thing. That negligee... It's...wow.
MARLENA: I bought it right after the baby was born, when it looked like you and I were going to get back together. When that didn't happen, I put it away. I never thought I'd wear it.
JOHN: Well, you are and we're going to drink to your negligee. And to our being together. And to our future together.
(Pours two glasses)
MARLENA: That's alot of drinking.
JOHN: We can handle it. We can handle anything.
(He hands her the champagne, then picks up a strawberry, scoops some cream up with it and offers it to her. She bites into it, then:)
MARLENA: My turn
(She scoops a mountain of cream onto a strawberry. He opens his mouth to take a bite. They laugh happily, then begin to kiss each other lovingly)
MARLENA: I never thought I could be this happy.
JOHN: This is only the beginning...

Act VI
MARLENA'S PENTHOUSE BEDROOM
(John is alone, setting up elaborate food spread for him and Marlena)
MARLENA: (Calls from O.C. bathroom) Can I come out yet?
JOHN: Patience
(Lights candles, turns off lights, turns on:)
(SOUND: Soft Music)
Okay. You can come out now.
(Marlena comes out, sees table, candles, flowers, etc. Reacts)
MARLENA: John... how did you manage this?
JOHN: I enlisted Chelsea's help when you were in the tub. Told her I wanted tonight to be... unforgettable.
MARLENA: How could it be otherwise?
Act VII
MARLENA'S PENTHOUSE BEDROOM
(John and Marlena are eating)
MARLENA: This is perfect. Everything tonight is perfect.
JOHN: And we don't want it to end, do we?
MARLENA: (Eyes him) No.
JOHN: Are you sure?
MARLENA: Positive.
JOHN: Good. Because there's something very important I need to ask you.
(He gets up from the table, crosses around where he plants himself on one knee next to Marlena. He takes her hand)
JOHN: We've been apart for much too long. It's time we remedy that. Forever.
(Long pause. Then:)
JOHN: Doc... will you marry me?
(On Marlena's eyes filled with tears...)

FOR: CLOSING HOUR GLASS, THEME, CREDITS
