What the hell is going on here??? Why is everything taking so long??
Who cares as long as the tale continues!
What was happening? Well if you recall, Solo had
been kidnapped by
Thulgore and carried off to his pit.
The three lads had taken off in pursuit, donned three
large spray
guns and packs filled with Anti-monster DAAS-Spray.
Solo's screams had mysteriously stopped.
The timer on the Time Machine was clicking away 10 hours
thirty-two
minutes twelve seconds, eleven seconds, ten seconds, nine seconds,
eight
seconds, seven seconds, six seconds…well you get the idea.
Paul, Tim and Richard all burst into the basement of the
Titanic
II…the room was empty barring two metal hatches found in the center
of
the floor. One hatch led to the Titanic II's escape hatch; the
other
led to Thulgore's pit.
Tim pulled up the first metal grate.
"Whoa!" he cried. Paul and Richard leaned over the
edge of the hole
and stared down at the ground, way, way beneath the floating Titanic.
They could see several suburban houses lay out, spread
amongst
paddocks, ovals and a primary school, over in the far corner.
The three lads pulled back. "Wrong hatch."
Tim muttered.
They moved over to the second hatch.
"Ready to go Monster - busting?" Tim asked.
In reply, Paul and Richard hoisted their spray guns and
nodded.
Tim yanked open the grate and all three stared down into
the pit
below.
"Have you got ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh one?" Solo
asked.
Thulgore shook his head and grunted.
Thulgore then stared hard at the handful of tiny cards
held between
his great fingers. He grunted. The grunt was long and stretched
out
and sounded like a car being revved early on a freezing morning.
"Nope!" Solo replied. She looked down at her
own single card held
in her hands.
"Have you got ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh one?"
She asked
again.
Thulgore stared at his cards for a long, drawn out moment
and then
grunted.
Solo was sitting on the top of a large wardrobe bringing
her level
with Thulgore's chest. He sat on the floor in the corner.
Thulgore grunted loudly. He stopped a few seconds
later.
Solo stared at the one card in her hand for what seemed
like and
eternity before she replied…"Nope!" and shook her head again.
Suddenly
something hard and heavy landed on her head.
"Ouch!" She cried. A metallic badge fell into
her lap. Solo looked
up. Three handsome faces stared over the ledge of the pit down
at her.
She stuck her tongue out at them.
Paul stuck his tongue out at her back.
Then they lifted their spray guns in unison and Tim yelled
out. "Who
ya gonna call when you've been kidnapped by a monster?"
"Monster-busters!" Richard and Paul called back.
Solo groaned.
The boys pulled the triggers. A strong, purple coloured
mist began
to pour down from the top of the pit.
As it hit her nostrils, Solo began to cough uncontrollably.
She
grabbed the sleeve of her shirt and pulled it up over her face.
"Hey,
remember I'm down here guys!" she called up.
In response, the mist got thicker. There was an
incredibly loud
thump and the cupboard solo was sitting on lurched wildly.
She heard Richard order the other two to turn off their
weapons….ten
minutes later, they did.
Seconds after that, the mist slowly began to clear.
Finally Solo
managed to control her coughing fit and looked around the pit.
Thulgore was lying unconscious on the floor…snoring loudly.
Solo
stood up and peered up at the guys.
They stared down at her. Paul started to laugh.
"What's so funny?" She asked a little annoyed…what
had taken them so
long anyway. Solo had been fortunate she had found these playing
cards
in her jeans pocket and had managed to distract Thulgore with a game
of
fish or who knew what could have happened.
"You're purple!" Paul said and all three boys burst
out laughing.
Solo looked down at herself. She was covered in
purple dust. "Oh
very funny, very funny." She snapped. "Well are you going
to get me
out of here?"
In response, the plug-in end of a very very very long
electric cord
bounced off her head.
"Ouch!"
She wrapped it around her stomach and held onto the end.
Within
seconds, the lads had pulled her up and out of Thulgore's pit.
"Are you okay?" Richard asked.
"I suppose so." She replied. Far below, Thulgore
began to stir.
With a groan, he rolled over and opened his eyes. He stood slowly
and
reached out a giant hand through the mouth of the pit.
"Oh S hit." Solo cried out and jumped back to hide behind
Paul. Then
she realised that he would not be such an effective cover, so she hid
behind Richard who, realising he was in Thulgore's line of reach, ducked
behind Paul. Paul scowled at the two of them and pushed Tim forward.
"Deal with it, wartnose."
Tim wandered forward and patted Thulgore's head.
Paul, Solo and
Richard all leaned forward but they couldn't catch what Tim was saying
to the ogre.
Tim looked back over his shoulder. "He's going to
help us move the
Time Machine." He said.
"Yeah but what about me?" Solo asked.
Tim smiled…I told him you were a member of the crew, and
therefore
had to be treated as such."
Paul and Richard looked at Tim disbelivingly.
"Oh all right, I told him that you were a Christmas pressie
Flacco
gave to Richard."
Thulgore slowly climbed out of the pit.
Solo back away cautiously.
Thulgore reached out a hand and patted her on the head
before he
turned and lumbered slowly out of the room.
Tim grinned at Solo, raised his eyebrows suggestively
and said, "Of
course If you want to…"
"Ferguson, shut up!" Paul and Richard demanded.
Solo looked confused. The boys didn't explain. Tim
looked
heart-broken and trudged slowly from the room after Thulgore.
Come on" Richard suggested. "Let's go back to the
living room and
wait for Tim and Thulgore."
"Yeah. I'm hungry." Paul declared…he hadn't
had anything to eat
caus Solo had eaten his jelly and he was starving.
"Yeah and I want a shower!" Solo said, brushing
more of the purple
dust from her clothes. The more she brushed off, the more there
seemed
to be.
What will our heroes do now???
They have hours left….
STAY TUNED…
