This is it! Or is it?
Paul flicked the bed sheet. Air gathered under it
and the end
flicked up and into Flacco's face. Flacco jumped back in surprise
and
yipped. He then grabbed the end of the sheet and flicked it back.
The
two men fought over the sheet tugging back and forth back and forth
for
several minutes before Paul flopped down on to the bed, sheet and all.
"Ahhhhh what's wrong mate?" Flacco growled and tugged
the sheet out
from under Paul, sending the little man flying off the bed and onto
the
floor.
Paul stayed where he was and signed loudly.
Behind him, Solo still lay on the tabletop, sound asleep.
"Why didn't leanbean and dumb dumb let me have a go?"
"Why didn't you ask?" Flacco asked.
Paul gave Flacco a dirty look.
Flacco returned the dirty look with a strange one of his
own.
Flacco leaned over and picked up a pillow off the bed.
He threw it
at Paul.
It smashed against Paul's skull.
Flacco asked, "why don't you do it now?"
"No!" Paul said and threw the pillow back.
"Why not?"
"Why try?"
"Why not try?"
"What?"
"What?"
"Aye?"
"Aye?"
"I'm lost," Paul complained.
"Kiss her!" Flacco demanded.
"No!"
"Why not?"
"I'd get girl germs!" Paul whined.
Flacco threw another pillow.
"Jump off!" Paul exclaimed angrily as a third pillow hit
his face.
He stood up and angrily stomped over to Flacco. The strangely
dressed
little man held his ground. Paul used his finger to thump against
Flacco's chest as he cried. "No, No, No. I'm not going to kiss
her
because she's got girly germs!" Paul cried. He crawled
onto the bed
and pulled the doona over his head.
Flacco sat on the end of the bed.
"She's cute."
"So what?" Paul cried, his voice muffled by the
doona.
"What do you mean, 'so what?' That's all that matters
right?"
Flacco watched the lump on the bed closely.
"No, that's not what matters! She's smart and funny
and nice and
doesn't deserve to be treated like and object…hey!" Paul pushed
the
doona off his head.
Flacco was smirking at him.
"I mean, she's mean and nasty and short…Yeah she's short
and ….
and…."
Flacco smiled, "and adorable when she smiles?"
"Yeah." Paul replied wistfully. Then he caught
the look Flacco was
giving him and shook his head, "No, no, no, I mean she's…she's a
thief…she stole all of my jelly!"
"She looks soooooooo peaceful lying there like that, don't
you
think?" Flacco said staring at Paul.
Paul looked down at Solo. Funnily enough, she did
look peaceful -
and kind of innocent.
"First thing I noticed about her were her eyes."
Flacco whispered
and turned to watch as Paul stood up and walked over to the table where
Solo lay.
"Hmmmmmmmmm. First thing I noticed was her smile…"
Paul knelt down
next to the low table and picked up Solo's cold hand.
Flacco began to hum a familiar tune. Paul didn't
hear at first, he
was to busy watching Solo. Her chest rose and fell…her breathing
deep
as she slept on.
*****
Solo was alone. She walked into the middle of the
room and slowly
spun around.
BORING!! She thought to herself. She wandered over
to the door. The
spotlight that had been on her since this whole ridiculous dream
sequence began followed her. Maybe if she jimmied the lock, she'd
be
able to get out of here and explore the rest of her mind, she thought.
As she examined the door, a voice…a beautiful clear voice
punctuated
the air behind her.
"I was caught by your smile,
Under a pale spotlight,
You were the only one left here,
And words poured like coke,
After a choc tim tam,
You were the only one left here,
With soul deep dark brown eyes,
Soul deep dark brown eyes."
Solo gasped…It was her Prince…the masked stranger.
He stood alone on
the stage, lit by a bright spotlight. He stood on what looked
like a
big yellow spot.
Who was he?
Damn he had a fantastic voice. As he sang, Solo
drifted over into
the middle of the ballroom. Slowly the Prince stepped off the
stage and
walked towards her.
*****
With only Flacco's humming as accompaniment, Paul sang quietly.
"Pale light falls,
Over your frozen frame,
You were the only girl on board,
Your cold hands in mine,
Lips closed and still,
You were the only girl on board,
With soul deep dark brown eyes,
Soul deep dark brown eyes."
*****
The prince swept Solo into his arms. She raised her
hands to rest on
his broad shoulders, closed her eyes and as they danced, listened as
his
voice flowed over her, overpowering her senses and turning her knees
to
jelly. She held him tighter as he sang.
"The cool of the night,
Fell on us like a ghost,
You were the only one left here,"
*****
Paul stared down at Solo and sang.
"I wept for the chance,
Wept for the chance I'd lost,
You were the only girl on board,"
*****
"With soul deep dark brown eyes,"
As the Prince sang, Solo opened her mouth and sang softly,
her quiet
voice clear and pure,
"Shut up and kiss me now, kiss me now, kiss me now,
I have been patient but patience is gone,"
*****
Paul sang,
"Wake up and stare me down, stare me down, stare me down,
Feels like it's over it never began,"
*****
Solo sang,
"Just shut up just shut up just shut up and kiss me…"
*****
"Wake up just wake up just wake up and kiss me…"
*****
"Shut up just shut up just shut up and kiss me now."
Solo ended the
song whispering the words,
Slowly the Prince bent his head and their lips met.
WOW!!!
*****
Warm lips moved over hers softly.
Her senses reeled, the feelings washing over her were
amazing.
Solo's eyes were clamped tightly shut as she allowed the
new
sensations to caress her trembling body. Slowly the lips pulled
away.
Solo took a deep breath and slowly opened her eyes.
She stared into
passion filled hazel eyes for several seconds. The silent moment
stretched out intensely. Solo couldn't move, couldn't look away,
the
intensity between them could have been cut with a large sacrificial
knife.
Solo stared into those amazing hazel eyes.
Paul's eyes.
Paul?
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Solo jumped back abruptly.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Paul jumped back and
screamed at the
same time.
Solo's awake at last…. But what now?
What happened to Tim and Richard?
Where's Flacco?
What is Paul going to say to Solo now?
What is Solo going to say to Paul?
Will the Prince ever return?
Stay Tuned…
