I dunno….I'm on holidays and having a great time and believe it or not,
I'm not missing home at all – sorry Bindy!! LOL However being the little
author I am I really have no excuse for the late postings of my DKR
episodes lately…so…nose the grindstone, so to speak and on with the tale
of action, adventure, daring, bravery, romance and … whoops wrong story!
So what was happening??? I'd better go back and find out myself huh?
Hang on!!

{Let me just…ah ha here we are, now let me just reread what I had already…
….
…Oh yes!!!! Of course!!!!!}
BY THE GODS!!!
That's right, Solo rebooted the system in an attempt to reconfigure
the damn Time machine's pathways and shut off the computer.
And this means that every system on the Titanic II was turned off.
Heating, Lights, Dishwashers, Navigation, Life support…. Life support???
Oh my Gods!
No life support? Ergo no oxygen!
And our heroes, after realising this, collapsed unconscious…Solo
(surprisingly) was the last to fall asleep, managing to switch the
computer back on just before she did.
But did it work?
And more importantly, did life support come back on??
Did it??
It was the quiet rhythmic breathing next to her ear that
eventually broke through Solo's subconscious mind and woke her up.
She opened her
mouth and took in a huge breath of metallic tasting recycled air…it
was wonderful.
Then she opened her eyes and found herself staring at the legs of the
computer stool she had previously been sitting on. Huh? Then
she
realised she was on the floor. "How the hell had she gotten down
here?" Then she realised her next bloody well hurt…she attempted
to move her head and discovered that she was lying on something warm and
hard…or rather someone!
{Why she didn't realise this earlier I cannot say but as you have no doubt have realised…Solo is not very observant!}
She forced her head to move and discovered who it was that she
was lying on…oh boy did he look as cute as a bloody button when asleep.
Solo stared into Paul's sleeping face…It had a relaxed look about it that
softened his features and smoothed his brow. His mouth twitched into
a smile. He looked so sweet that Solo was hesitant to wake him…that
and the fact that when she did he'd probably hit her for squashing him
or something to that effect…bloody males…. You never know what they are
thinking (unless it is about sex!!)
Solo pressed her hands against Paul's chest and raised
her body slightly to look over at Tim and Richard. They lay side
by side, sound
asleep…Tim snored softly. Both looked as innocent as lambs…funny
how sleep can hide the real personality of a person! Solo decided
to let them sleep for a little longer. She climbed up onto the computer
chair and watched as the system ran through its files check and virus scan.
The computer beeped loudly as it finished the scan...the lads slept on.
Hmmmm!! Looks like the only major files to be corrupted
were the dishwashing system and the Laundromat – well, it's not like those
systems were really seeing a lot of work anyway! Solo thought to herself
with a grin.
Slowly the lights returned to the Titanic II and systems
began to come back on line.
Thank the gods life support's back up ran on a back-up
tank system Solo thought. She scrolled through the pages of files
that appeared on the
computer screen. Apparently thirty seconds after the main life
support system was shut down, the back ups kicked in. And naturally,
Solo, with
her lesser lung capacity and being both female and height deficient,
did not require as much oxygen as the others on the Titanic II did.
Which
gave Solo some much needed peace and quiet to concentrate before the
lads woke up.
Solo continued to check all the Titanic's files…She was
missing something. She was sure she was.
Suddenly a loud Klaxon blared through the speakers throughout
the Titanic, destroying the nice quiet Solo had been enjoying.
"What the…?" Solo began madly typing commands into
the computer.
Behind her four bodies shot up sitting positions.
The Klaxons still screeched. Solo struggled to find
the shut off button or the volume control.
Paul rubbed his eyes. "What's going on?"
Tim stretched his arms behind his head and let out a huge
yawn. "I was having such a wonderful dream…it involved a rubber boat
and…"
"Shut up Tim!" Richard yelled and jumped up.
"Oh his nasty in the morning isn't he?" Paul said
with a 'Cabinboy Twinkle' lisp.
Richard glared at Paul. "That's the proximity alarm!
We're going to crash!"
Flacco jumped up. "Oh well, if that's all it is,
them I am going back to the box."
Paul and Tim stared at Flacco in amazement.
"We're going to crash and you and you're going to the
box?"
"Well I want to get a bit more sleep before we…we're going
to crash?"
Paul and Tim looked at one another.
"We're going to crash!" Paul screamed.
"We're going to crash!" Tim screamed
"We're going to crash!" Flacco cried.
"We're going to crash?" Richard asked Solo.
"Maybe." She replied. Solo's fingers darted
across the keyboard as she typed command after command into the computer.
Flacco, Tim and Richard grabbed onto each other and hung
on for dear life.
Paul picked up a mallet and stalked over to Solo.
Solo looked over her shoulder briefly at Paul and then
turned back to the computer…and then in a classic double take she turned
back to Paul
and screamed…. "Ahhhhhhhhh!! Paul I swear it's not my fault."
If you don't turn off that noise…!" Paul cried over
the loud Klaxons.
He raised the mallet.
"Hey!" Solo cried. "What'd ya say? I
can' t hear you over the noise!"
Solo held her hand near her ear. She watched Paul come closer
and gulped.
She quickly turned back to the computer and tapped a command into the
computer. The Klaxons ceased.
"Now, what'd ya say?"
Paul just glared at Solo.
"So that's better then huh?" She asked quietly.
Paul just glared and stalked back to the huddled mass
standing in the middle of the room.
"Why are you panicking, you wusses. Solo's not…so
obviously it's not as bad as you think."
Tim, Richard and Flacco looked from Paul to Solo – watched
Solo casually type a few more commands into the computer and lean back
in her chair with a sigh.
They all dropped their hands and stepped back.
"Well what's wrong?" Paul asked Solo.
Solo took a deep breath. "Basically, We're going
to crash."
Paul looked at Solo for several long seconds and then
turned his head to look at the others.
"We're going to crash!" He screamed and jumped into
Tim's arms.
Tim screamed and dropped Paul into Richard's arms, "We're
going to crash!"
Richard dropped Paul into Flacco's arms and grabbed Tim
again.
"We're going to crash!"
Flacco dropped Paul onto the floor and grabbed Tim and
Richard.
"We're going to crash!" He cried.
"Every body hates me!" Paul sobbed from the floor.
"Now hang on guys, don't panic yet. Apparently
when the Titanic's systems were shut down we started to drift off course.
We were
originally tethered to my house via a tractor beam but when the systems
rebooted, that beam was shut off for several seconds and we started to
drift. We're now about a minute away from drifting right into the
Rialto. But I can move us if I can start the engines…Who has the
key?"
"What key?" Tim asked.
"What key?" Richard asked.
"What key?" Paul asked.
"What key?" Flacco asked.
"Oh bugger…we're going to crash!" Solo screamed
and dove under the
desk…
Great…they finally wake Solo up from her fantastic dreams
and now she's going to die in a horrible bloody fireball of twisted metal
and rock
when the Titanic hits the rialto building.
How will our heroes survive this one?
STAY TUNED…
