EPISODE 3
So what was our hero going through last time we looked in?
Of course...when we left the young woman (and we finally
discovered her name at
last...Solo) she was just heading off down a very long
corridor after and intriguing encounter
with a balding, strangly dressed, little man named Flacco
and was now off in search of a
way to return the Titanic II back to it's normal time
stream...she was also, as we discovered,
off to find the three lads who inhabit this strange vessel.
What will happen when she meets
these three young men - read on...
We join Solo, after she has walked around five hundred
meters up the long metallic
corridor. She has noticed many unusually coloured doors
lining the walls of the corridor, but
so far has restrained herself from opening any, in order
to see that lurks behind. Peering
into the fog enshrouded corridor ahead, Solo realises
she can not see the end. Is there an
end? she wonders or does this corridor just continue
on and on, never to end??? Yeah
good one Solo old girl, reign your imagination in! she
tells herself snidely. So she decides
that the next door she sees, she will open.
She takes two more steps forward to bring herself into
sight of the next door - a red door.
On second thoughts...she thinks, recalling Flacco's mysterious
warning, I think I'll open the
next one! Moving along quickly, she finds herslef in
front of a fuccia coloured door. Written
on the door, just above Solo's eye level are the words,
HOME SWEET HOME. The word
'Sweet' had a line drawn through it with red texta.
Solo reached out a hand and slowly turned the door knob
towards her, she winces at the
ear piercing screetch that fills the air. Obviously no
one's oiled the doors around here for a
while, she thinks.
The room beyond the doorway is dark, silent and empty
- empty of human comfort that is.
Solo reaches her hand in and feels around the inside
of the door, searching for a light
switch.
There! Flicking the switch, the young woman finds herslef
standing at the opening of a very
large living room. Sprouting off from this room are two
small seethrough doors, hinged
close to the floor, one on either side of the room -
each one leads to a small bedroom. In
the center of the room lies a large rectangular table
surrounded by three chairs. Behind this
table is a wall TV Recieving Unit, it's hinged doors
closed for the time being. Off to the side
of this TV wall unit is another small door leading to
a thrid bedroom, located behind the TV
unit itself. Many more corridors branch out from this
central living space and Solo, after
looking around intensely for several minutes, finally
noticed a second story level above
these bedrooms leading off to more long dark corridors
etc etc...
Solo steps inside and suddenly the door behind her slams
shut. Finding her heart suddenly
metaphorically speaking, in her throat, Solo swallows
and takes a deep breath. She had at
least four lifetimes scared right out of her when that
door slammed shut and she couldn't
take risk losing any more - she didn't have that many
more to lose!!!
Solo slowly made her way around the living room. upon
the table she noticed were three
bowls. Walking up to the table, she glanced into each
bowl...ahhhh!!! she thought as she
discovered each bowl was filled with a different kind
of jelly.
The large bowl on the right was filled with green jelly.
Solo picked up a spoon and scooped
out a small bite. She tasted it....oh yuck!!! she now
discovered that she hated green jelly.
Wiping the spoon clean she dipped it into the middle
sized bowl which was filled with
yellow jelly. She licked the spoon clean - oh yuck, to
her horror she discovered that she
hated yellow jelly too, Solo's stomach by this stage
was rumbling terribly. She was very very
hungry. Finally, she reached over and dipped the spoon
into the last bowl. This, the smallest
bowl was filled with what appeared to be red jelly. Solo
hesitantly tasted the jelly. Yum yum
yum, she thought discovering to her delight that although
she hated green and yellow
jelly..she loved the rasberry flaoured red jelly. picking
up the bowl she began to eat.
Carrying the quickly emptying bowl over to the chair
behind the first bowl, she sat down,
and quickly stood back up again. Owww!!!! she exclaimed,
through a mouthful of jelly. The
chair was very cold and far too big for her small frame.
She had to stand on tip toes just to
sit down in it and even then, she found she couldn't
touch the floor with her feet. but her legs
were very sore from all that walking she had done travelling
up the corridors and she
wanted to sit down to finish eating her jelly.
She moved onto the next chair, placed neatly under the
table behind the second bowl.
Pulling out the chair she sat dow and suddenly stood
back up again. this chair was too
warm, it was also still too big, when she sat down, her
feet could only just reach the floor but
her head and neck sunk back to rest uncomfortably. She
wanted to sit down. Walking over
to the third chair she eyed it warily...before she slowly
sat down.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! just right. She found
her feet easily touched the floor
but preferred to curl them up under her buttocks. the
chair was also comfy and soft. Solo
relaxed back into the chair and slowly finished off the
rasberry jelly.
Suddenly Solo was overtaken by a huge yawn. Stretching
her arms above her head, she
suddenly realised that she was incrediably tired. it
had been such a long day...it seemed
like it had been years ago that she had sat watching
GNW in front of the telly at home.
Reluctantly climbing out of the comfy chair, Solo quickly
made her way over to the bedroom
on the right of the table. opening the door, she ducked
inside. Ahhhh a bed!! Running over
she jumped onto the bed and nearly bounced right back
off again. Ouch!!! the bed was far
too hard. Climbing off, Solo left the room and made her
way over to the bedroom behind
the central table. Ahhhhhhh another bed, she thought
and carefully climbed onto the bed
pushed into the corner. She nearly sank to the floor,
"Ahhhhhhhh!!! too soft" she exclaimed
quietly.
Struggling for several minutes, she finally climbed out
of this bed and left the room. This is
ridiculous...she thought as she made her way over to
the bedroom, located to the left of the
central table. Entering the room, she spotted a smaller
sized bed in the corner.
Reaching out, she pulled back the covers and slowly climbed
into bed.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!, just right," she muttered softly
and stratched out. The bed was just
the right size. not too big or too small, not too hard
or too soft. it was just right. laying her
head on the pillow, she closed her eyes, vowing only
to rest for a moment or two...within
seconds Solo had fallen into a deep sleep.
Thus she didn't hear the sound of footeteps briskly marching
their way up the corridor
outside, not did she hear the three male voices harmonising
beautifully, singing..."hi ho, hi
ho, it's home from doing absolutely stuff all all day
we go..."
What will happen next???
