A Diva in Distress

cool because then these stories would be legal. Any way here's who does
own them: Disney/Pixar (Buzz Lightyear) Hanna-Barbera studios (Powerpuff
Girls), Warner Bros. Inc. (Batman, and Static Shock), Nelvana Inc. (Cybersix)

you're happy.
It was a normal day like all others, but soon it would get very
interesting. It all started at the hollowed out mountain headquarters of the
villainous group known as the Genius League. The fiends were planning to hold a
meeting but not all of their members were there yet. So those who were
there amused themselves by doing various tasks, a handful of them were
gathered over by the water cooler. "So Ken how are things in the digiworld?" Mojo
asked while sipping his cup. "Oh the usual, destroy this, terrorize that,
erect a control spire here, same old same old. Oh and then those blasted
Digidestined ruin my plans, do you know they've destroyed 4 of my control
spires already?" "Fascinating" Mojo said "you know things haven't been good
for me either, I've been in and out of jail all week thanks to the
Powerpuff girls." Then Bob came over "good morrow all" he said "discussing the
events of the day eh?" "Yeah what's it to you Bob?" Ken asked "oh don't get
me started on defeat " he replied "I've been beaten by Bart in every
scheme I've ever tried, well save for that whole dam thing, but nonetheless
that little boy is unbeatable." "There seems to be a lot of that going
around" Ken said sipping from his cup "so who are we waiting for?" "Alpha" Bob
replied "I don't know where that idiotic cyborg goes sometimes, doesn't he
have a watch on that mess of a robotic arm of his?" Suddenly a bell
sounded "that's the meeting bell, Alpha must have shown up" Mojo said, "speak of
the devil," Ken added "let's go." The three villains tossed their cups
into a wastebasket, walked over to the table and took their seats. Soon the
villains were all gathered around and Jose banged his gavel on the table.
"Order, order, this meeting of the Genius League shall come to order" he
said "first off we shall discuss any new business, anyone have any?" "I do"
Ken replied "as you know Mojo, and I have been toiling several days on
designing us a new vehicle. Well taking our cue from the various German
invasions we realized speed was the key to a swift invasion." "Yeah so?" "So we
have pooled our resources and come up with this" and he held out a
blueprint of something that resembled a dune buggy with a large gun on the back.
"I call it a Death buggy" Ken said "it's fast, easy to produce, and should
prove to be a useful vehicle to mobilize our Fixed Idea troops."
"Excellent Ken and Mojo, I am pleased" Jose said "these will be a fine addition to
our arsenal, and I take it you repaired the think tanks?" "Oh yes" Ken
replied "good as new" "excellent then we shall continue" Jose said "Zurg I
believe you had something to say." "Thank you Jose" Zurg said "I would like
for us to take on a new henchman, I've used him several times myself and I
think he'll be a valuable addition" "Well let's see him first" Alpha said
"of course" Zurg replied and gestured to the door "Warp get in here." The
steel doors opened and in walked a blue skinned individual in a red and
purple costume with a robotic right arm. "Everyone meet Warp Darkmatter,
villainous henchman extrodinaire, I think he could be used for various
assignments, and perhaps could whip our troops into shape." "He certainly looks
useful" Jose said "well Mr. Darkmatter are you willing to join with us as
a reserve henchman?" "Hey just as long as you pay me well, I 'm at your
disposal" Warp said. "Well I like him I say let's keep him" Bob said, "I
second" Spellbinder agreed. Soon all the members agreed "welcome to the group
Warp" Jose said "now please head to the special henchmen chamber until we
finish" "Sure" Warp said and walked out through the door. "Now that that's
done we should plan our next evil scheme, I already have a suggestion "
Jose continued. "Enlighten us" Bob said "I think we should abduct a
celebrity" There was a hush over the group "no offense but that's a stupid plan
any two bit crook can do that" Bob shouted. "Really?" Jose asked, "then why
don't you hear more about them?" "I withdraw my objection" Bob said in a
sulking manner "I don't understand why should we use our all powerful
forces to abduct a celebrity?" Ken asked. "Simple" said Jose "we do it to prove
it can be done, think about it few people have ever kidnapped a celebrity
it's impossible what with the high security and all. But if we can do it,
it will be a true test of our abilities, plus" he said smiling evilly "it
will be even more sweet if we let the Justice Squad know what we're
planning then abduct the star right under their nose. Then we not only get to
exercise our brain power, but we embarrass our sworn foes as well"
"Impressive I'm in" Bob said "I'm sure we're all in on this idea Bob" Ken said "but
the question remains; which celebrity do we abduct?" "I have just the one
in mind" Jose said, "we shall abduct ...Britney Spears!" The villains
gasped "Oh boy I'd love a chance to get my hands on that little diva" Mojo
said "her happy music upsets me I'd give anything to silence her
permanently." "Me too" Rubberband Man added "she's more popular than some black
rappers I mean that's just wrong." "Then it's settled, that little brown haired
wench shall get her comeuppance" Jose replied "today I'll send an ad to
the papers informing them of our plans to abduct Miss Spears." "Wait why are
we doing that?" Bob asked "get with the program Bob, it's to inform the
Justice Squad about our plans so we can humiliate them when they try to stop
us." "Oh then by all means proceed" Bob replied.
A few hours later, at the Pentagon General Kingsly had gathered the
Justice Squad, all of whom were present save for the leader. "Where is
Lightyear?" he asked, "he's usually never late." Suddenly Buzz walked in
accompanied by a tiny robot with the Star Command logo on him. "Uh Mr. Lightyear I
hate to bother you but you've got a strange little robot following you"
Davis pointed out. Buzz looked behind him, "oh him that's XR one of my
trainee rangers" he replied "he wanted to see where I've been going so I'm
showing him around." "Hey nice place you got here Buzz" XR said surveying "it's
nice and secretive, these Pentagon guys know how to live." "Mr. Lightyear
would you please tell your guest to have a seat we have pressing matters."
Kingsly said "hey hey no need to get stuffy pops I'll take a seat" XR
said. "Pops!" Kingsly said "you stupid piece of machinery I'll..." "Sir please
don't concern yourself with him tell me what have you gathered us here
for?" Buzz asked. The general regained his composure, "of course" he said
"anyway here's the problem, in the paper today the Genius league printed a
threat claiming that they were going to kidnap pop star Britney Spears and
they challenged you to stop them." "So I take it you want us to protect
Miss Spears?" Buzz asked. "Precisely" Kingsly replied "she is giving a
concert in California in six hours, go there and watch over her." "Man Britney
Spears sucks I say let them have her" Davis said, "man I agree she blows,
do we have to protect her?" Bart chimed in. "Look Simpson" Kingsly said
"this goes beyond what sucks and what's cool this is about stopping these
madmen before they strike." "Quite right sir" Buzz said "I don't know who
this Spears lady is but if her life is in danger then I believe it's our duty
to help her, to the Liberty team!" Buzz shouted and rushed out of the
room. "Man I know I'm not going to like this assignment," Davis said as he
dejectedly walked out. In a matter of minutes, the Liberty zoomed out from a
hidden hanger and off to it's destination
Los Angeles, California....
"Buzz we're approaching Los Angeles" Cybersix said turning away from the
radar screen. "Okay people, I'm going to cloaking mode and setting us down"
Buzz replied. although his screen couldn't find anywhere to land. "Oh
craters" he said "this city is huge, where am I supposed to park?" He turned
on the computer to scan for an open area, it soon located a nearby field,
"okay once again I'm setting her down" Buzz replied. Finally the Liberty
landed, and the Justice Squad members exited. "Okay team first priority,
find Brittany Spears, anyone know where she is?" Batman raised his hand "well
according to this newspaper clipping she will be performing at someplace
called the Cosmo club." "Then it's settled we head there" "how man?" Bart
asked, "I don't see any transportation anywhere." Buzz laughed "ahh young
Bart, don't worry all we have to do is seek out the people of this fine
city and I'm sure they will help us to achieve our goal." "You've never been
to L.A have you Buzz?" Static asked, "no but I don't see how that is
relevant" Buzz replied. "You'll see" Jay replied. After an elapse of five
minutes they finally arrived inside the city, and to no surprise received odd
looks. "Hey what are you freaks doing in this town?" asked a person.
"Greetings citizen" Buzz said "my friends and I seek the Cosmo club, could
anyone tell us where it is?" "Yeah I can tell you," said one "up your butt and
around the corner." "Now there's no need for vulgarity" Buzz replied
"we're just looking for the Cosmo club." "It's at 4th and Vine" another person
replied "why you guys going there, are you setting up for a traveling
circus?" The crowd laughed, "I am not an animal" XR said doing his best
Elephant Man impression, "look the microwave's talking," another said. They
laughed again "hey" XR said "I'm a very sophisticated robot" "ignore them"
Buzz said, "let's go." And the Justice Squad walked down the streets of the
town receiving odd looks from various onlookers. "Hey Buzz" XR said, "I
have a question when someone displays their middle finger to you what does
that mean?" "You don't want to know" Jay said before Buzz could answer.
After about an hour of walking, Buzz spied the intersection "ahh 4th and Vine,
we're here everyone." The heroes looked at the club; it was a tall
building sort of like a nightclub, but with a much larger stage. It looked like
a place where some event like the Oscars might be held. "Whoa talk about
low class" XR said, "how much do you guys think a building like this goes
for?" "Probably 12 years salary, well for a normal person anyway" Jay said.
Buzz knocked on the door, and a man dressed in a T-shirt and ripped slacks
came out. "Yes may I help you...gentlemen?" he said saying the last word
in a disgusted tone. "Greetings sir, we have come all the way from
Washington D.C. on a top secret mission." "Oh really" said the man, feigning
interest, "and what is this mission hmm?" "Well that's classified" Buzz said
"then why should I let you in here?" the man curtly replied "listen I don't
like freaks comin' here and telling me that there from Washington on some
'secret mission.' Now tell me who you are, and what you want or else get
out of my face." "I understand" Buzz said "perhaps this will change your
mind, give him the clipping" Batman stepped forward and handed him the
newspaper clipping from D.C. The man gave it a once over "so let me see some
guys calling themselves the Genius League are planning to abduct Britney
Spears?" "Yes sir we're from the Pentagon we've been sent to protect her"
Buzz replied. The man laughed and rudely slammed the door in their face "oh
yeah pal well how do you like this" Bart said raising his hand, preparing
to flick him off, Davis quickly restrained him. "Easy Bart" he said "hey
hold it" Batman said, "I hear voices from within." They all turned to the
door where their were definitely mumbled yelling, suddenly the door opened
and another man, clad in a business suit stood before them. "Oh you must be
the people from the Pentagon please come in" he said. Buzz shrugged his
shoulders and he walked in, "hey what gives before with the rude guy?" Bart
asked. "Sorry about that, he probably just didn't believe that story, it
is rather farfetched." "Then how come you believe it?" Buzz asked "well
gen. Kingsly from the Pentagon and confirmed everything just a few minutes
ago." "Well so much for subtlety" Jay said. "My name is John Collins," the
man said, "I run this place, as you know Britney Spears will be performing
here tonight. She is a top act and is expected to bring in a lot of money,
but if what you say is true, no security can keep out these genius guys."
"They're extremely smart and evil sir" Static said, "I'm sure" John said
"that's why I want you to have full run of the place, do whatever you can
to keep Britney from being kidnapped." "You can count on it sir" Buzz said
and he did an about face "okay team spread out" he said "Batman, Blossom,
watch the outdoors, Jay, Static, check the rows and look for any
suspicious people, Davis, you Bart and XR are backstage." "Ahh jeez" Davis said,
"now I actually have to be there when Britney comes out" "relax man I got my
trusty slingshot" Bart replied. "No slingshot's we're here to protect her
not annoy her" Buzz said. "Ahh man" Davis and Bart said as they walked off
toward their assignment. "Mr. Collins" Buzz said, "I was wondering if
perhaps I could meet the lady in question?" "I don't see why not, right this
way" Collins said escorting Buzz down a long backstage hallway, they
stopped in front of a door with a star on it. Collins knocked on it "who is
it?" said a voice from inside "it's John Collins could you please open up
Britney I have to tell you something." "Very well" the voice said and the
door opened, Buzz got his first glimpse of the lovely young diva. "Yes what
did you want to say?" Britney asked, "Britney Spears, I'd like you to meet
Buzz Lightyear" Collins said and then stepped away so she could get a
clearer look. "Wow are you like the Toy Story Buzz?" she asked, Buzz had a
confused look on his face "umm.. I guess so" he replied "you know I just
loved Toy Story and Toy Story 2, you are quite talented, pretending to be a
toy and all." "Right.." Buzz said, he didn't understand what Britney was
talking about but he had to state his mission "Miss Spears" he began "I am
here along with a band of other heroes to protect you." Britney laughed
"protect me? Is this some kind of publicity stunt for your next movie?" "No
ma'am I can assure you I'm quite serious" Buzz replied "a band of evil
villains, known as the Genius League, have vowed that today they will abduct
you. We've been sent here by the Pentagon to stop that from happening." "But
I don't understand why would these guys want to kidnap me?" Britney asked
"I've never met them I don't even know them." "I don't know why ma'am"
Buzz said "I've never understood the twisted mind of evil, I don't know what
makes it function. All I do know is that I will do everything in my power
to protect you from these vile villains." "Thanks Buzz" she said, "hey can
I see your lazer work?" "Certainly ma'am" Buzz said and he fired a beam
which blasted a hole in the ceiling. "Whoops, uh you can bill the Pentagon
for that" he said.
Meanwhile none of the Justice Squad, even Static and Jay, knew that the
aforementioned villains were already in the building. "Jeez do we have to be
here?" Bob asked, his features hidden behind an overcoat and huge slouch
hat, "I'd rather see the midget production of the H.M.S Pinafore, then
attend a Britney Spears concert." "Will you pipe down?" Ken said, clothed in
similar garb, "once this performance is over, she won't be doing another."
"Right, provided Jose's plan works" Rubberband Man added. "It'll work"
Jose replied and pulled a walkie talkie from his pocket, "Mama bear to baby
bear, come in baby bear" Outside a harmless looking bakery truck sat parked
out by the stage door, however, it's driver was anything less than
harmless. "Copy that mama bear this is baby bear over" Warp said into his
miniature radio, "okay the pigeon will sing in five minutes, after the
performance, is when we clip her wings, be ready." "Uh roger that baby bear out,"
Warp said turning off his radio "man I've got to get another code name."
Inside the villains waited "okay run the plan by me once more" Ken said,
"it's simple" Jose replied "I've replaced 2 of Britney's backup dancers with
Techno's, after her performance, they'll grab her backstage and take her
out to the truck." "Brilliant" Rubberband Man said, "what's a techno?" "One
of my father's creations" Jose replied "they are genetic beings that are
so much like humans you can hardly tell them apart, they're so
sophisticated only Cybersix can spot them." "You know it occurs to me we've never met
your father" Ken replied "that's none of your business" Jose snapped back.
Backstage, Britney was addressing both Buzz and Collins, "okay I've got to
go on stage now for my warm up performance," she said. "Don't worry
ma'am," said Buzz "my friends are all over this place, nothing should happen."
"Thank you Buzz" she said, and walked to the stage, there the announcer
said, "ladies and gentlemen may I present Britney Spears!" Britney said hello
to her fans and broke into "(you drive me) crazy", Bob covered his ears in
pain. Backstage Davis was having no fun, "man being backstage stinks" he
said "there's no action and we have to listen to stupid Britney Spears."
"Yeah man" Bart added and turned to XR "hey robot boy, amuse us", "yeah
Davis said "tell us secrets about Buzz." "I'm ashamed at the 2 of you?" XR
gasped "do you think I'd spill the dirt on Buzz Lightyear?" "Sorry we should
have considered your loyalty to him" Davis replied. "No you didn't let me
finish" XR said "do you think I'd spill the dirt on Buzz Lightyear, for
nothing? Give me a twenty cause money talks and baby I've got a lot to say."
"Alright" Davis said and fished in his pockets "uhh what can I get for a
five?" "The knowledge that Buzz sleeps in pajamas with rockets on them."
"Oh man" Davis said and he, Bart, and Veemon giggled. Meanwhile Britney had
just finished her song "thanks for coming everyone, come back at 8:00 for
my major performance" she stepped backstage as her dancers filed away to
their various rooms. Once all the others had left, the 2 techno dancers
approached Britney. "Hey great job out there guys" she said, suddenly before
she could react one grabbed her and pinned her arms to her sides, the
other clamped a hand over her mouth, and then they began to pick her up and
take her outside. Fortunately, her muffled cries, and frantic kicking,
attracted the attention of Davis, "hey!" he shouted "those guys are trying to
abduct Britney!" Bart and XR turned to see Davis was right, he then quickly
released his blasters. "Freeze dirtbags" he said, "drop the girl", the 2
techno's looked at him but continued to move forward. "I warned you" XR
said firing a blast which shot one of the techno's in his leg, he released
his grip to massage it, and that was all the time Bart needed. "Chew on this
man" he said firing a well-placed rock at the other techno, it hit his
hand, and as he removed it to rub it, Britney let out a scream. Buzz and the
others heard it "Miss Spears is in trouble let's move people" he shouted.
Instantly Jay, Static, Cybersix, and Buzz ran for the stage. Although the
technos managed to get Britney restrained again, it was too late. "What
are you waiting for XR? fire at them" Davis shouted "I can't I might hit
Miss Spears" the robot replied. "Now what do we do?" Davis asked, "leave it
to us" Buzz said as he and the others rushed backstage. Cybersix instantly
recognized the dancers "techno's more of Jose's evil creatures' she said,
"Buzz I think Jose may be here" Buzz nodded and turned to Jay "Jay check
the audience for any other villains we'll handle these two." "Right chief"
Jay said rushing out. Meanwhile Cybersix launched a flying kick, knocking
one of the techno's off of Britney. With her arms free again, Britney
elbowed the other techno then fled back to her dressing room. "Miss Spears is
safe," Buzz said "now let's finish these guys" he used his lazer, and
disintregrated one. "My turn" Static said and fired a jolt at the other, also
reducing him to a pile of clothes, "I bet he's shocked that happened" he
quipped. Back in the audience Jay was looking for anyone suspicious, then
his radio, turned on and he answered it. "Jay find anybody suspicious yet?"
Buzz asked him "no sir" Jay radioed back "everyone seems to be normal..."
he noticed a man with a large hat. "Excuse me sir, but' I'm afraid you'll
have to remove that it's blocking other peoples view" Jay said. "Bug off "
the man replied "don't tell me your afraid to remove your abnormally large
hat sir" Jay said goading him. "It's not large" the man replied, "well it
certainly looks that way I mean that is the biggest freaking hat I've ever
seen, a bird could nest in that hat..." "Shut up!" Bob said who turned
around, realizing he had just made his presence known "oh dear sorry" "Bingo"
Jay said "Buzz I got Sideshow Bob in the audience", "that ain't all you
got punk" Rubberband Man said and stretched out a fist knocking Jay over.
"Nice going Bob now our cover's blown let's get out of here" Jose replied
and the 4 villains dashed toward the exit. "Security apprehend them!"
Collins shouted but it was a wasted effort, "freeze" the guards yelled with guns
drawn. "Out of our way fuzz" Rubberband man said grabbing the guards and
tossing them like rag dolls. "Great" Collins said, "now those madmen will
escape." "Maybe not" said Buzz who had just arrived from backstage, he
grabbed his radio "Blossom, Batman it's me Buzz, several of the Genius League
are trying to escape, stop them." "On it Buzz " said Batman he looked and
spied the fleeing villains "I see them we're going in." He and Blossom
then jetted down from the roof at the escaping criminals. "Oh great more of
them, now what?" Bob said upon seeing them. Jose flipped on his radio "Warp
it's Jose, release the hidden hornets now!" "Aye aye captain" Warp said
and flipped a switch on the van. Instantly 4 hornets came out from a nearby
alley and rushed the heroes. "Hornets darn it" Batman said, meanwhile the
van drove by quickly, and the back doors opened "all aboard" Warp said
"next stop our temporary headquarters." The 4 villains piled in "So long
suckers" Ken said "Darkmatter floor this thing." Warp complied and the van
screeched away. As for the heroes Blossom punched her way through 2 hornets,
while Batman used his batarangs to destroy the other two. But by then the
van was gone. "Darn" Batman said and radioed Buzz "Buzz it's Terry, we
found the villains but they ambushed us with hornets and got away in a bakery
van." "Craters" said Buzz "we may have prevented them from kidnapping Miss
Spears, but now that they've escaped they'll try again." "Are you sure
Buzz? I mean we whipped them pretty bad," XR said. "Maybe so XR" Buzz
replied "but I'm sure this only their first attempt, we did good, but we can do
better, we were sloppy today and I won't let it happen again." Buzz walked
backstage and to Britney's dressing room. "Are you okay miss Spears?" he
asked. "Yes thanks to you and your friends, but I see now that someone is
very intent on kidnapping me." "Yes they are and this was only their first
attempt, try as we might the perpetrators escaped." Britney was shocked
"oh no" she cried, "you mean they might try again?" Buzz nodded "yes I'm
afraid so, you're no longer safe here, tell me where are you staying?" "The
Grand Palace hotel it's about five blocks from here" Britney said "we'll
take you back there personally and guard your room with our lives." "Oh
thank you, thank you" Britney replied handing Buzz a key "let me just get a
few things, here's the key to the room." Thank you ma'am" Buzz said "please
Buzz you don't have to be so polite, loosen up call me Britney." "Um okay
thank you Britney" Buzz said, and then he turned to face his troops, "XR
front and center" he said, the little robot wheeled forward, "you called
Buzz?" he asked. "Yes take Bart and go to Miss Spears room to check for
bombs or any traps" "yes sir" said XR wheeling away "oh and no mini-bar
privileges, and I'm sending Jay just in case." Buzz replied. "Oh c'mon Buzz,
she can afford it, she's a superstar" XR whined. "GO!" Buzz said, "I'm going
I'm going...cheapskate" XR muttered under his breath.
The Grand Palace
L.A.'s Grand Palace was a magnificent place of a hotel with rooms that
could only be afforded by the wealthy people. Britney, however, obviously had
enough money to afford a reasonably furnished sweet. After checking in,
Britney and her bodyguards entered the elevator and headed upward. "Are all
of you going to be in my room?" she asked, "certainly not" Buzz replied
"we'll be stationed around the hotel, you won't even notice us." The
elevator arrived on the fifth floor and the gang entered, Buzz quickly armed his
lazer and approached the door with caution. "Let's hope XR handled the
bomb sweep," he said as he opened the door pointing his lazer inward. Inside
Jay was drinking a soda, while Bart was eating a bag of peanuts, and XR
was watching television. "Oh hey Buzz" XR said, "uhh we checked no traps,
say would it interest you to know this t.v. has over 100 channels, pretty
neat huh?" "What did I say about the minibar?" Buzz replied angrily, "hey
hey Jay started it" XR replied "Yeah I believe 'here Jay have a Coke, Buzz
will never know' officially counts as starting it" Jay said. "Okay maybe
not, but anyway I mean they want 10 dollars for a Coke, that's highway
robbery somebody needed to teach these fatcats who charge these prices a
lesson. Buzz groaned and slapped his hand to his face "I try to be a good
leader" he said "is it my fault, what am I doing wrong?" Behind him Britney
giggled at the humorous events that had taken place. "Well I'm glad you find
this funny" Buzz replied "okay team, I want this entire hotel covered, XR,
you will remain here, everyone else spread out." In about 2 minutes the
Justice Squad were guarding the various areas of the hotel, Batman and
Blossom had the roof covered, Jay and Static took the hallway, Davis and Bart
had the lobby, and Cybersix was watching the elevator. "Don't worry miss
Spears" Buzz said "no one going to get you while we're on watch" "that's
right so you just sit down, relax, add a few items onto your hotel bill,
write off a couple of towels, the usual stuff." Buzz glared at XR, "what? The
hotel won't miss a few towels" "put them back now ranger" "fine fine, jeez
you always stand in the way of free enterprise" XR muttered as he crossed
into the bathroom. "Buzz do you think it would be okay if I ordered room
service?" Britney asked, "certainly I see no harm" Buzz replied. "Awesome"
Britney replied and picked up the phone, "hello room service, I'd like to
order 2 hamburgers, fries and a chocolate fudge sundae, okay..alright
thanks," she said hanging up the phone. "It should be here in five minutes"
she replied. Sure enough five minutes later, a man in a uniform wheeled a
cart up to the door. "Hold it" said Jay "we need to check that food to make
sure there are no sleep drugs in it" "Hey man this is a violation of hotel
policies" the bellboy complained, but he allowed Jay to scan it with a
special MIB tested drug detector. "Okay the detector shows it's clean, you
can come in" "Thanks man" the bellhop said and wheeled in the cart, "odd"
thought Static "he seems familiar." "Oh good room service is here," Britney
said, and the man opened the silver platter to reveal the order. "Hey
food" XR said, shoving bags of nuts, and other minibar items into his chest
slot, "these superstars sure know how to live, boy I tell you if I could
eat, that would be what I would pick." "You do fine work sir" Buzz said,
"thank you sir" the bellhop replied "I wanted to make sure Britney got this
meal, after all it will be her last for some time" Suddenly the bellhops
features twisted into...Rubberband man. "You, I should have known, I forgot
your rubbery powers enable you to change your appearance" Buzz said. "I
guess that'll cost you ranger," Rubberband Man said and he backhanded Buzz
into the wall. "Hey you stretchable fiend, try me on for size" XR said
releasing his many lazers. "Shut up tin can," Rubberband Man said and after
transforming his hand into a fist, slammed it down on XR. "Waiter, I'll have
what he's having" a dazed XR said before he fainted. "Now for you popstar"
the villain said, Britney quickly ran to the phone, but before she could
pick it up, the villain wrapped her up in one of his arms, making it
difficult for her to move or scream. "Guys it's me" Rubberband Man reported on
his radio "I've got the girl, time to take out the other Justice jerks." "I
copy that, me and Mojo are moving in, Zurg out." The 2 villains, who had
thenceforth been in the lobby, in disguise walked towards the elevator.
"Hey Davis, is it me or do those guys seem suspicious?" Veemon asked. Davis
looked them over; "they are kind of odd I'd better notify Mr. Lightyear" he
said and took out his radio. "Davis calling Mr. Lightyear are you there
sir?" when Buzz didn't answer, Davis became worried, "I think something's
happened we better go up ourselves" "Davis replied "let's move man" Bart
said and away they went. Meanwhile the elevator pulled up to the suite floor,
but Cybersix stopped them. "Hold on you two" she said, "what are you doing
here, and who are you? I want names." "Us?" said Zurg, "why we're just
here to do a little.... pest control!" he whipped off his overcoat, and
before Cybersix could react blasted her against the wall. "Now Mojo, use the
gas guns, to put the 2 guards to sleep, I'll see if cyber-chick is still
conscious." "Right" Mojo replied and used a large gun to spray a green gas
down the hall, but not before donning a gas mask. The gas floated down the
hall and Jay and Static breathed it in, "uh...it's..gas" Jay, said before
collapsing. The 2 villains then opened the hotel door, were Rubberband Man
stood at the ready, "what kept you guys?" he asked "sorry" said Zurg "we
had a little pest problem, now let's get the girl and get out of here."
"You three aren't going anywhere, except to jail" said a voice from behind,
the villains turned to see Cybersix facing them. "I thought I blasted you
into the wall" Zurg said "oh well, this time, I'll make sure of it." He
fired his Zurgomatic ion blaster, but the wiry female cyborg, jumped,
allowing the blast to hit a wall. "Blast" shouted Zurg, when suddenly; Cybersix
slammed into him with an outstretched foot, knocking him to the ground.
"Get her!" Rubberband man shouted and Mojo turned the gas gun on her. "Gas
won't work on me monkey boy," Cybersix said, and she snatched Mojo by his
cape, then she twirled him around and let him go. He flew down the hall, and
crashed into the wall. She then shifted her attention to Rubberband Man
"you may have taken out my partners" he said "but I'll turn you into scrap
metal." "Let's see what you've got stretch" Cybersix taunted "why you!" he
shouted and lashed out a rubber arm, but Cybersix kept avoiding it's
grasp. "You'll have to do better than that to beat me" she said "it'll take
both arms." "If that's what you want" Rubberband Man said and he loosened his
grip on Britney so he could use both arms. "Run Britney" Cybersix said,
"I'll handle Mr. elastic here" "let's see how cocky you are now!" Rubberband
Man shouted firing out both arms, Cybersix jumped and dodged one, as the
other advanced she dodged it too. Then she flipped behind him; "I'll get
you!" Rubberband man shouted and his arms inched behind him, she jumped
again this time to the front. He responded by firing his arms again but again
she jumped to the back, "stand still" he shouted and shot out again, once
again she flipped to the front but the villains arms stopped short, "what
the, what's wrong?" he asked. "Easy you've just been tied up in a big
knot, who's the smart one now?" "Errr when I get out of here, I'll rip you to
pieces!" Rubberband man, "we'll see" Cybersix said, "right now you're
taking a trip" and she grabbed him by his arms. "What, hey!" he exclaimed
before Cybersix spun him around, after she let him go, he crashed through the
window landing on a van. Ken and Alpha popped their heads out, "what the?"
Alpha asked, "let me guess our plan hit a snag?" Ken asked. "Yeah"
Rubberband Man replied, Ken quickly activated his radio, "Zurg, Mojo pull out now
this plan is over." Zurg pulled out his radio "roger that I'm outta here"
before Cybersix could stop him, Zurg jetted over to the unconscious Mojo,
grabbed him and jetted out the window into the van. "Nice work idiot" Ken
said, "I thought the gas thing was fool proof I can't believe you screwed
it up." "Don't blame me" Zurg replied "that blasted Cybersix, foiled us."
"Well this is useless let's give up" Bob replied, suddenly Jose turned to
face him "give up?" he asked, "no we put to much effort into this plan to
give up now." "But Jose they've beaten us twice now what can we do?" Bob
said. "Haven't you ever heard that third time's a charm?" Jose asked
"Britney still has to go to the concert, and when she does she's ours, now
gather around I have a plan."
Back in the hotel, Buzz had recovered and after hearing the story he had
his team sweep the hotel room. "Well Buzz I checked the floor, there's not
a bomb in sight" XR replied "ditto on the roof" said Blossom "I think it's
clean." "Don't be so sure" Buzz said "I doubt these villains would leave
without leaving something behind" At that time Bart and Davis rushed into
the room, "okay villains show yourselves" Davis said, his fists raised in a
boxing position "I'm ready for you." "I admire your spirit young one, but
I'm afraid the menace is over" Buzz replied. "What? you mean we missed all
the action aww man!" Davis whined "I knew we shouldn't have stopped to
sample the dessert cart." "Speak for yourself Davis" Veemon said "that was
delicious cake, besides now I have the strength to digivolve if the villains
do return." "Oh yeah I guess I didn't think of that" Davis replied.
Britney walked over to Buzz "Mr. Lightyear what will we do those guys are still
out there and I'm sure they'll try to capture me again." "Fear not
Britney" Buzz replied "you have the superior forces of the Justice Squad at your
disposal we will protect you as long as we have to. Tell me when are you
going to the studio?" "At six", she looked at her watch "oh dear I've got
to leave in five minutes if I want to get there in time." "You just hurry
and prepare" Buzz said, "we'll guard you every step of the way." Britney
nodded and walked off, Buzz then addressed his team, "okay people listen up,
in five minutes we're heading to the Cosmo club where Britney is going to
perform. I want every step of that route guarded I'm talking land and air
there shouldn't be one stretch of the road we don't know about now let's
move!"
Five minutes later Britney had prepared herself and entered the limo that
waited outside. Buzz stood watching then flipped on his radio "Okay team
Britney's taking off, Batman you and Blossom follow from the air, the rest
of you take the other reserved vehicles and follow at close range, now
head out." Soon two vehicles drove down the streets of L.A, with the backup
car, an old outdated model, following the lead limo. "Man Buzz could have
at least sprung for a limo for all of us too" XR said "this old Dodge looks
like it's going to break apart after five miles." "Hey shut up" Jay said
"just keep your eyes on the road, those diabolical villains could strike at
anytime." Soon the limo reached a long tunnel, Batman radioed in to Buzz
"sir it's Terry" he said. "We've got a problem the limo's going through a
tunnel, and I'm not sure Blossom and I can follow." "Craters!" Buzz said
"well head to the other end and make sure the limo comes out of there."
"Check" Batman replied, and jetted to the end, after two minutes the limo
emerged from the tunnel safely "whew! no trouble" Blossom said and as she flew
off she failed to notice the tunnel disappear. About two minutes later the
limo pulled along when suddenly a lazer blast fired from nowhere. "What
the?" Batman asked "Buzz we've got trouble someone's firing lazers." "We'll
be there full speed team," he said and the rest of the group rushed off in
their vehicles, to the site. Meanwhile the limo was under siege by a band
of Death Buggies that emerged from a nearby hill on the side of the road.
"Look Fixed Ideas are driving those vehicles" Blossom said, "let's take
'em," Batman said. He dived downward and slammed one of the massive mutants
out of his car. Blossom punched another and bent the gun on his buggy.
Then she used her eye beams to melt another gun barrel, the grabbing the
massive mutant, hurled him into the latter one. Batman saw 2 more Death
Buggies driving down from the hillside lazers blazing. "Whoa" he said jumping
to avoid them; he then hurled a batarang at one knocking out the driver,
who promptly careened into the hillside. "Err I'll get you!" shouted the
other Fixed Idea who drove forward at full speed. "Not today ugly" Batman
said doing a flying jump kick he connected squarely with the beasts' jaw,
disorienting him and sending the buggy on an off road course. About that
time, the rest of the Justice Squad arrived in their rental cars, "okay team
split formation" Buzz said "I'll check the limo and get it on it's way, you
handle these villains." "Right" the Justice Squad rushed into battle as
more of the vile vehicles came into view. "Time to put your lights out ugly"
Static said, and using his power, lifted up a nearby lamppost and hurled
it at the Death Buggy. "Ahh!" shouted the Fixed Idea as the lamppost
slammed into him breaking his gun and stopping him in his tracks. Meanwhile
Buzz went over to the limo "are you alright Miss Spears?" he asked, opening
the door. "Oh I'm just fine" said a strangely feminine voice "thanks for
asking!" Before Buzz could understand what was happening, he was blasted.
Warp Darkmatter stepped out from the back of the limo "poor misguided
Lightyear, I can't believe you fell for my little trick." Buzz looked up "Warp"
he said "what's scum like you doing here, where's Britney Spears?"
"Probably safely in the Genius leagues clutches," "but that's impossible, I had
the limo watched every step of the way there's no way you could have
grabbed her." "Oh no?" Warp replied "remember that tunnel?" "your work?" Buzz
asked. Warp nodded "there was really no tunnel" he replied "Spellbinder
created it, when the limo entered we made the switch and escaped after your
airborne losers followed our decoy limo." "But how?" Buzz asked "we work
fast" Warp replied "then you mean...?" "That's right Lightyear these Death
Buggy squadrons are just a distraction to keep your losers busy till my
employers make it back to their makeshift headquarters and you justice jerks
fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Well I'd love to stay, but the Genius
League is probably expecting me, sorry I can't tell you where later
Lightyear" Warp said as he jetted off. "Curse you Warp come back here" Buzz
shouted firing his lazer, XR, who had been on the sidelines noticed the
escaping Warp and also fired. But the blasts missed and the villain escaped,
"craters" Buzz said and turned to his friends "everyone stop battling them,
it's a distraction the Genius League has Britney." "What?" everyone said,
"Look" Static cried suddenly, everyone turned to see the Death Buggys
pulling away, "I told you, they were just a distraction they must have outlived
their usefulness." "No way man, how did they grab her? we were watching
her like a hawk" Jay said "It was that blasted tunnel" Buzz said "it was an
illusion created by Spellbinder, somehow they switched limos before we
could catch on." "Blast" Blossom said pounding her palm "we should have
followed the limo in there" "Any idea where she is?" Cybersix asked "none" Buzz
replied "I wish I knew where those vile villains had set up their
headquarters." "I think I can help you with that Buzz" XR said, "how?" Buzz
asked. "Well when I noticed Warp escaping I fired a tracking device on his
jetpack, I'm pretty sure it stuck and we should be able to trace him." "Good
job XR" Davis said, "yeah I guess your not just a dumb robot after all" Jay
replied. "Okay people " Buzz said " to the cars we can follow the tracker
on XR we've got to get Britney Spears before those vile villains can harm
her" and quickly the cars drove off.
Meanwhile at their makeshift headquarters in a Los Angeles dump the Genius
League celebrated their victory. "Didn't I tell you guys we could do it,
didn't I?" Jose asked. "Yes yes no need to rub our faces in it" Bob replied
"brilliant work on that whole tunnel plan Spellbinder, I couldn't have
done better myself" Zurg said. "Your too kind Zurg" said Spellbinder "but it
was Jose's plan I was just following through with my part." "Man I can't
wait to see the look on those justice jerks faces when they find out that
we have Britney Spears" Ken said "after they worked out such an intricate
plan to protect her" "Well we all know how well that worked didn't we?"
Jose said and the villains enjoyed a hearty evil laugh. In the corner sat
Britney, bound hand and foot, and gagged and wondering what these vile
villains had planned for her. "Say," asked Mojo "now that we have Britney
what'll we do with her?" "Hmm I never thought of that" Jose said "let's ask her
record company for ransom money." "Isn't that a little bit immature for
geniuses of our talents?" Bob asked "I mean kidnapping a damsel and asking
for ransom, any two-bit crook can do that." "We used our genius to snatch
the dimwitted diva we're entitled to a little average criminal practice I
think" Ken replied. "Well hurry, call em up" Jose said, just then Warp
showed up, "hey guys I'm back." "Well how did it go?" Zurg asked "just as
planned, those justice fools fell for our trap, and they have no idea where
we are." "You made sure you weren't followed?" Alpha asked, "yeah those
guys were busy, taking out our troops, they couldn't have followed me, trust
me we're perfectly safe."
Unknown to Warp the Justice Squad had just arrived outside the junkyard.
"Well a cleverly constructed junkyard fortress," Buzz said, "this may be
more difficult then I originally thought, any suggestions?" "We could sneak
in" Jay suggested, "no good" Buzz replied "there's no telling what kind of
security measures we're dealing with, but if we charge right in, they may
kill Britney." "So what'll we do Mr. Lightyear?" Davis asked. "We only
have one choice, to take out the guards before we're reported, Blossom fly
overhead and scout the area." "Check Buzz" she said, zooming off from the
van she spied a group of hornets standing outside the fortress. "A few
guards, I'll disable them" she said and blasted them to bits. "Okay all clear"
she radioed back, "alright everyone move in but be quiet" Buzz said.
Everyone began to tiptoe through the mounds of trash, unknown to Davis he
stepped over a tripwire. Inside the fortress, Jose was on the phone, "ask for 2
million" Bob said, "please this is a record company," Ken said "it would
take them about 100 years to make that much." "Point taken" Bob replied.
Suddenly the alarms blared, "intruders!" Zurg shouted, "it's those justice
jerks." "I thought you weren't followed Darkmatter?" Mojo said, "I don't
know how they found us sir" Warp replied. "Never mind, let's get out there
and get them!" Jose cried. Outside our heroes were still advancing to the
base, "good work team so far we still have the element of surprise."
Suddenly a lazer blast grazed his head, "or not" "how'd they learn we were
here?" Jay asked. "Who cares? Take them out" Buzz said, Blossom flew forward
and knocked Bob into a mound of garbage, then dodged Alpha's lazer arm.
Batman threw a batarang at Mojo's weapon, "now to use trash to stop this
trash" Static said, and used his powers to grab a nearby car bumper. He hurled
it forward, slamming it into Mojo and Spellbinder. Meanwhile, Ken tried to
shock Jay with his whip, while Rubberband Man faced off against Static.
"Finally I can have my revenge" he chuckled sending out a rubbery fist,
Static flew upward, "let's see how well you handle all of this junk you
stretchable fiend," he said. Gathering his energy he levitated lots of metal
objects around him, "chew on these" Static said firing the barrage, they
slammed into the rubbery villain, many bounced off of him. "Looks like your
scheme failed Static, now I'll stretch your limbs until they come off", he
grabbed him, but Cybersix launched at him with a flying kick. Disorienting
the fiend he released Static and tumbled off the garbage mound. Elsewhere,
Jay had used his noisy cricket on Ken, but it hit a mound of rubbish.
"Missed MIB doofus" he said, suddenly the mound collapsed, "ahh!" Ken shouted
as a pile of garbage buried him. "Looks like I've put the digimon emperor
where he belongs, with the rest of this garbage" Jay said triumphantly.
"Lucky break Jay" Alpha said "too bad it's your last" zzap! He fired his
lazer, "yaah!" Jay jumped to avoid it, "you can't dodge me forever Jay"
Alpha said. "He won't have too," Batman said Alpha turned to look behind him,
but it was too late, whoosh! A batarang smashed into the lazer arm
disabling it. "Thanks for the cover bats" Jay said taking the opportunity to ram
into Alpha at full speed. The vile cyborg fell over and was unable to rise
do to the heaviness of his parts. "Help me I've fallen and I can't get up"
he said, "never thought I'd see the day when he said that" Jay replied.
Back at the entrance to the fortress, the other Justice Squad members
contented with Fixed Idea troops. Cybersix kicked a pair, while Blossom punched
as many as she could reach, even Davis joined in by having Flamedramon
attack. Buzz, Meanwhile, was battling Warp, "give it up Warp, the troops are
falling it's all over," Buzz said. "Maybe so Lightyear" Warp replied "but
I can still take you out" he fired from his arm, Buzz rolled and dodged
it. "You've got no cover here Lightyear" Warp replied "I can find you
wherever you hide" he fired two more blasts, "I've got you now". Buzz looked
around on the ground, suddenly he spied an old hubcap, and just as Warp fired
he held it up. It reflected the blast, destroying Warp's arm, allowing
Buzz to tackle him. "In the name of the Galactic Alliance I place you under
arrest" Buzz said, "drop him Lightyear" Zurg said. Buzz turned to see Zurg
standing a few feet behind him, he was holding Britney, and had his ion
blaster pointed at her head. "If you want the girls head to remain on her
neck, call off your dogs and raise your hands" Zurg said. "Justice Squad
halt now!" Buzz said then turned to Zurg "okay we've stopped now let her
go." "Hmm I don't know Lightyear, sure you've surrendered, but what fun would
it be without torturing you. We don't really need that money any way."
"You wouldn't dare" Buzz said, "oh I would and I will kiss one pathetic
popstar good bye!" but just as he prepared to fire something caused his blaster
to lift out of his hand. "What the?" Zurg exclaimed, "who did that?" Buzz
looked around to see a nearby crane tipped with an electromagnet, with
Bart at the helm. "Hey guys I thought you might need some help" he said. Buzz
smiled "fine work Bart" he said "now use the crane on Zurg." "Right man"
Bart said "oh no you don't" Jose said, pushing a button on a tiny remote,
the Darkheart appeared over the junkyard. First it fired a blast to disable
the crane, "ahh man" Bart said, and then it activated numerous tractor
beams, which picked up the Genius league and transferred them to the ship.
"They're getting away after them," Buzz said but it was too late the ship
flew off. "Well that was a bust" Alpha said "yes let's never do that again"
Bob replied. "Hold on guys" Jose said, "we may have failed but we at least
captured Britney from out under those fools noses, if we can accomplish
that there's nothing we can't do." "You're right," Ken said "next time we'll
devise a plan to destroy those justice fools for good ha ha ha ha ha."
Back at the junkyard Buzz was attending to Britney, "Are you alright
Britney" Buzz asked, tearing the gag from her mouth. "I'm fine, just a little
shaken up" she replied "well don't worry we'll get you back in time for
your performance." Sure enough a half-hour later Britney was back at the
Cosmo club "thank you so much for rescuing Britney so she can perform" Collins
said. "I'd like to thank you too" Britney said, "so I'd like to give you
all tickets to my show today." "Thanks Britney but it goes against what we
stand for to accept rewards for our work" Buzz said. "Speak for yourself
sir" Davis said, "I'll gladly take the tickets" "I thought you hated
Britney" Bart said "no I don't" Davis replied "besides these will score me major
points with Kari." Soon the Justice Squad gathered to watch Britney
perform, "Oh wow Davis I can't believe you got tickets for Britney Spears"
Yolei exclaimed "she's like my all time favorite popstar ever someone pinch me
I must be dreaming." "I can't believe we're here in California to see
her," Kari added. "Alright people are you ready for fun?" boomed the announcer
"yes!" the crowd shouted. "Then here she is, the one and only....Britney
Spears!" The audience screamed including Yolei and Kari who were clinging
onto Davis. "Maybe this wasn't such a hot idea, oww stop pinching my arm"
he said, "I don't get it Terry" XR said to Batman "she says 'hit me baby
one more time' but why would she want someone to hit her?" Batman laughed "I
have no idea XR, I have no idea" and the Justice Squad stayed for the
whole concert confident that once again they'd made the world safe for
popstars and their fans everywhere, no matter how annoying they are.
