WALTONS DIGEST 12-2001:

Hi everyone,

Thank you to all of you who sent messages of support for Tim this past week. He went into hospital on Monday afternoon, and the tonsils were gone some 2 hours later. The doctor was really happy with the way he was healing by Tuesday morning, so home he came later that day. Since then he has improved each day, and is now, just one week later, almost back to his old self. He had a few uncomfortable starts each day early in the week, but still managed to each very soft things. Since I was home I was able to cook some of his favorite sloppy, very mashed up things, which slip down easily! It's nice to see him right again.

James was away for the last 3 days of the week, as part of the Year 12 religious education program. He has had such a busy term, especially with an assessment task which covered the whole last 10 days of school, that it was nice for him to be able to have a bit of a break. He is now officially on school holidays, but as the year 12 teachers keep saying to them, it is not a holiday, it is simply time when you don't have to go to school for classes. Needless to say he has a lot of work to do.

The big news over here though, is that Channel 9 is finally going to show A Walton Easter. Here in Melbourne it is scheduled for 7 a.m. on Friday this week...Good Friday. You can see how well they expect it to do! However it will be nice to finally have it shown on Australian TV, just a short four years after it was shown in the USA, and probably about two since our British members saw it. LOL Are you seeing it again over there? I shall tape it and watch it again during Friday I think. Fortunately I have seen it before.

During this past week at home I have been formatting this year's digests to add to the Waltons Digest Archives, and all of the past ones are now at the site. If you have joined us since the beginning of the year, you might like to catch up on this year's digests, or any others, now. You can get there by going to The Waltons Digest and following the links to the 2001 digests.

I have also been working to redo some of my site and hope to have some revisions up soon. Keep your mail coming in, as its been a bit quiet lately.

Talk to you all soon. Goodnight everyone,

Karen.

Hi Karen,

I was watching "The Nurse", the one where Mary Ellen is applying for nursing school but can't take the test. In one of the beginning scenes where the boys are with John in the mill, talking about how Mary Ellen is going off to nursing school, Ben comments "Yeah, and I'm next in line!" However, on the trivia quiz on your web site, it says that Erin is the next eldest of the children. Did anyone else pick up on this? I wonder if it was an error in the script or if Eric Scott threw that in on his own. Well, just thought I'd make a comment on that. Good night everyone,

Greta

KAREN'S COMMENT: It's a good question Greta and one that has puzzled many of us. My thoughts are that Ben was originally meant to be older than Erin, but later Erin took over that 4th child spot for some reason. As you've commented, there are indications that Ben is older than Erin, however when we talked about this a long time ago, there were so many arguments that finally Earl himself was asked about the children's birth order. He said that yes, Erin was meant to be older than Ben. As the children became older it seemed to become far less important to them who was older than the other, except perhaps with Jim Bob and Elizabeth. It is confusing.

Hi, Karen,

Just a short message to let any Aussie Waltons fans know that, according the the TV WEEK, Channel 9 will be showing A WALTON EASTER on Friday, 13 April, at 7 am. Yes, 7 am. What a time! However, since this is the only Waltons episode I haven't seen or taped, I'm excited about finally catching it.

Bye,

Trisha

KAREN'S COMMENT: It's very exciting for us fans out here. Hope you enjoy it!
