| WALTONS DIGEST 13-99:
Hi everyone, I think everyone must have taken the week off over Easter as it's a very small digest this week. Not to worry because I'm enjoying the break immensely over here too. By the way, some of you may have received last week's digest as 11-99 instead of 12-99, which it should have been, so you might have thought it was a double of the week before. My apologies. It should have been labeled as 12-99. The reason is that I now send the digest out in three lots...we've grown that big! Those whose email addresses are at the beginning of the alphabet would have received the 12-99 label while the rest of you would have had the 11-99, by mistake. Hope that's clear. :-) Anyway, whatever it was labeled in the Subject area, it was the same digest and sorry for the confusion. Having said that now, I've had some time this week to add a couple of new things to both sites. One of our digest members, Kathy, was lucky enough to meet Will Geer not long before he died. She has kindly allowed me to publish her recollection of the meeting on my site, and has dug deep at home to find the photos to accompany it. Thank you Kathy, and I hope you will all enjoy reading it. You can find a link from my main page, or go straight to the following link: http://www.oocities.org:80/TelevisionCity/2792/kathy.html I have also revamped the memorabilia page and hope to have that going some time during the week. As well, I have found some old reviews on the show that I will add to the site, so some of them might be up as well. You might want to keep your eyes on the "What's New" part, or else I'll just tell you all next week. I guess it depends on how busy I am during the week. As well, I have added the first 6 digests of this year to the digests site, so you newer members can check out what we've been gabbing about this year so far. You can get there either by going straight to the 1999 digests at: http://www.oocities.org/TelevisionCity/Set/4536/digests99.htm Or alternatively go via the address on the welcome message, which will link you to all the digests from 1997, 1998 and 1999: http://www.oocities.org:80/TelevisionCity/Set/4536/index.html Well I guess that's about it for this week from me. I'll still be on holidays next week and hopefully this lovely weather we're having will continue on for a bit longer. It's been very chilly at night though and sometimes early in the morning. Talk to you all again next week. Goodnight for now, Karen.
What you need to do Karen is to go to the regular www.the-waltons.com and scroll down to FAQ then you can find out about e mailing CBS about the Walton special. I have done this several times I just received the digest while I was on line. I will be leaving for the Easter Vigil service in about an hour --its still Saturday afternoon in Dallas but you have Easter now in Australia its Easter morning Donald KAREN'S COMMENT: Yes I took the time this morning to check it out Donald. Here's what Ralph has written on the Frequently Asked Questions about the new special: "A special is tentatively planned for 1999, although CBS has not yet authorized filming to begin. Your Email to CBS requesting the special would be helpful. You may Email them at www.cbs.com/navbar/feedback.html" How about it? Should we inundate them with 312 messages that we definitely do want another special????? By the way, the FAQ is good to have a read of. Go to the following link: http://www.the-waltons.com/faq.html
<<I think there were two different dogs. One person said that the Reckless that appeared in the later episodes was not the same dog that appeared in the initial episodes >> I think there were two different dogs, too. But this still doesn't explain why, in the context of the show, we were supposed to believe it was the same dog from beginning to end, even if in real life maybe the first Reckless died and they replaced that one with a second dog. A mystery with no end! Too bad! Geri Ann
KAREN'S COMMENT: Well not being a dog person, I wouldn't know if they changed the dog every episode! Having said that though, the show is supposed to have been widely watched throughout rural USA and those people I daresay would notice. :-)
Hello Karen and All I've been a Waltons Fan since the show first aired, but seeing the series start over again I've noticed something. This is from the first season's opening when Olivia comes out of the house onto the front porch. Has anyone else noticed through the screen door there is a very close wall covered with wallpaper and a rather large picture hanging on it..... I don't think I remember ever seeing this wall before. I think the room is painted anyway, with the stairs and fireplace on the area opposite the front door. Has anyone taken notice to this? Now that I've noticed this, what I think is a blooper, I've taken notice to a lot of differences between the opening outside scenes and the shows outside scenes - within the first season. Has anyone else? I'm glad the series is at the beginning again. I've missed Grandma, Grandpa, Olivia, John, and Richard Thomas. I do enjoy watching the children at their younger ages. Darlene, PA, USA KAREN'S COMMENT: I'll have to have another look at this one. We did mention the cow and her grazing habits last week though you might remember. It was a comment made by Edwin. Well this week I was watching "The Cradle" and, sure enough, there was Chance actually picketed outside the barn, grazing. Isn't it funny how something is mentioned and then you do see it? I can't remember seeing her outside the barn very much though.
Hi Karen, Thanks for the Spectacular Electronic Walton's Newsletter. On my site I have added a chat so maybe I can see a couple Waltons Fans...Happy Easter from Harlem, NY. And Noelle. KAREN'S COMMENT: Noelle's site can be found at: http://www.angelfire.com/ny2/michaellearned
Sounds like a good idea Noelle. Let us know how it goes.
