| WALTONS DIGEST 15-2001: Hi everyone, Well I'm very late sending this digest this week. It's been really, really busy here lately. Both James and I seem to have a lot of things going on at school which are taking up lots of our time. We've finally hit autumn here and the trees are turning the most wonderful shades. I can look out our kitchen window and there's a liquid amber tree in next doors yard that's all autumn shades red, yellow, orange. They turn lovely colours. Naturally there's lots of dead leaves lying around too, but they don't worry me at all. We've had lovely sunny days too, although we've started to get those crisp mornings with some fog and dews or frosts. I think autumn would be my favourite time of the year here in Melbourne. I hope by now everyone's had a chance to have a look at the fantastic quilt that was made by several Waltons fans. It's a very worthy cause, with the money raised going towards the Waltons Museum, and it would be a wonderful piece of artwork for any Waltons fan to own. I think all the ladies on Waltons Mountain would be really impressed with the work that has been done. Alright now for a talking point. If you were to visit Waltons Mountain, or were a new arrival to the Mountain, which adult would you most like to talk to and why? I thought we might focus on the adults during this week, and maybe the children of Waltons Mountain next time. This adult could be a family member, or a friend of the Waltons, or perhaps it was just someone who passed in and out of Waltons Mountain during an episode. Have a good think about it and share some of your thoughts. Don't forget to give your reasons though. Talk to you all next week (sometime!), Goodnight everyone, Karen.
Hello Karen, this is my first time writing. I enjoy getting your e-mails. Do anyone know what has happened to Cindy? Did she quit acting? Also I know that Richard Thomas remarried, I had read on the internet that he was seeing another women; but do not know how old that news was. Does anyone know anything? Thank-You for the info. Lenore. KAREN'S COMMENT: Lenore, Leslie Winston, as Cindy, doesn't appear to have been in much else post Waltons, but she has married and had a child (or 2) during the late 1990's so it is possible that she is spending time with them while they are little, before going back to acting again. As for Richard, the last I heard was that he remarried and he and his new wife had had a baby boy.
Waltons Easter story shown (the Easter 1973 version)a week ago last Saturday. Any way I'm glad I got to see the Waltons Easter from 1997 once again. Donald KAREN'S COMMENT: I haven't watched my copy again but will soon. It's one I'll treasure having the last appearance of Ellen Corby in it.
Speaking of names, do you recall any of the children's middle names, except for James Robert and Elizabeth Tyler? (It was during an episode where John-Boy read a letter from Elizabeth, while he was working at the paper in New York). I know that Erin's middle name is Esther, after Grandma. That's the only other middle name I can remember hearing for any of the children. Geri Ann KAREN'S COMMENT: Yes, I think that's probably all we know so they would be: 1. John Walton Junior (I'm sure he'd have a second name) 2. Jason Walton 3. Mary Ellen Walton (I think we can assume that Ellen is a second name) 4. Benjamin Walton (Named after brother Ben who died in the war) 5. Erin Esther Walton (Mentioned in her wedding episode) 6. James Robert Walton (Assuming Robert is a second name)
Hello Karen and All, A very funny thing happened yesterday. My husband had a late meeting, so on his way home, he picked up McDonald's for dinner. McDonald's is having a promo for the show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. So, the question on my french fries was "What television show started with a Christmas movie called The Homecoming?". I guess it was meant for me to answer that one. By the Way, my prize for answering that one was free french fries. ----Jennifer P.S. Karen, Ronnie Claire doesn't talk about the Waltons in her book, it is mostly about her outrageous and amazing family and the people they knew. KAREN'S COMMENT: Well done Jennifer. Great question actually. Hope you enjoyed those well earned French Fries...BTW we call them chips over here! Just thought I'd throw in another language anomaly. :-)
