WALTONS DIGEST 19-2001:

Hi everyone,

Well I have absolutely no Waltons news for you this week. I've been busy indulging my other passion this weekend. The Australian National Gymnastics Championships were held in Melbourne during the weekend and so I've been in there on Friday night and today (Sunday as I start writing this). James came with me and it was a great way for him to relax. He has just about finished semester one and during May has had so many School Assessed Tasks that we have hardly seen him. He's been down in his room each night preparing work. Year 12 here is such a busy year. The teachers even tell the students that they don't have holidays during the year, they just have days where no school is scheduled! And it's true too. He has been working incredibly hard. Add to this that Tim is working hard at several jobs to try to get enough money to go overseas at the end of the year, and Rod has been working very hard in a new job too....there seems to be hardly any time to catch up with anyone at the moment.

Maybe next weekend I'll have some Waltons news for you all. Until then enjoy any Waltons that are on over there. Good question...is TNN still running it? If so, where are you up to? Till next week.

Goodnight everyone,

Karen.

Hi Karen and everyone,

The Walton's Mountain Museum gave a free 2000 Walton's calendar to everyone on Mother's Day. Although it is outdated, it has some wonderful Walton photos and stories. I already had the 2000 calendar, so if anyone would like this new copy, I will send it to the first person that requests it.

My favorite Jim-Bob moment is in the original Homecoming movie, when all the children are in the barn cracking walnuts. When Elizabeth's feelings are hurt by the older children, she runs up in to the hay loft, and Jim-Bob follows her and comforts her.

KAREN'S COMMENT: What a fabulous Mother's Day present and your offer is very generous. Please let us know who the lucky person is Joyce.

Hi Everyone,

My favorite Jim-Bob episode is when the doctor tells him he needs glasses and he realizes he can't be an airplane pilot. I think David W. Harper did a wonderful acting job in that episode. His feelings of disappointment were very clear and the viewers really felt his pain.

My favorite scene in that episode is where he meets Cora Beth along the road when her car has a flat tire. Jim-Bob stops to help her and she tells him how she copes with her lost dreams of being a ballerina. This was a very moving scene, and a turning point in Jim-Bob's life.

KAREN'S COMMENT: I must have a look at that episode as I hadn't realised that Corabeth once dreamed of being a ballerina. Did it say why she didn't pursue it? Maybe she grew too tall or something. She really helped Jim Bob through some difficult times in his life didn't she?

Hi all,

It been a while since I have written. I was looking at the TV guide and I noticed that The Waltons are on two times a day now. They're on at 1 and 2. I wish that it was on at 7. Does anyone know when the new movie will be on. I can't wait. I was watching 7th Heaven the other day and they were all saying good night to each other, when one of the kids spoke and said we sound like The Waltons, it was cute, I mean they did it in a way that was cute and not making fun of the show. That's a show that is a good family show, almost as good as The Waltons ..... well good night everyone.

Nancy

KAREN'S COMMENT: I can't wait to see that episode you mention of 7th Heaven. I love it and have just about every episode (bar 3) on video. Two I missed taping and will be catching up with shortly, and the other one was from earlier this season. I know that people in England complain about the treatment of The Waltons over there, but how's this one. Our network 10 simply skipped an episode of 7th Heaven (Busted) because it was rated PG and 7th Heaven is in a G timeslot. Instead we just went straight onto the next one with no word at all!!! Anyway, we've nearly finished series 5 here. We've only got 5 more episodes to go.
