WALTONS DIGEST 49:

Hi everyone,

Well summer is nearly here for me, and winter about to arrive for you people "over there". No doubt life is extremely hectic for you all as we head towards Christmas now, hopefully making happy plans to visit family members and getting together.

This is only a very small digest this week. I think everyone took pity on my computer and sent very little mail to me. I am happy to report that we got quite disgusted with it this week and took it in to be repaired, so we are now up and running happily again, without the computer cutting itself off every 15 or 20 minutes as it was doing. The video card was faulty and was repaired under warranty.

All you Family Channel viewers: are you getting special Christmas Waltons episodes or are they still just running through the series?

Talk to you all again next week. Have a safe and happy week.

Goodnight everyone, Karen.

Dear Karen and Walton Fans:

Just thought you would like the words to The Children's Carol from the two hour episode of The Christmas Carol. I ran my tape back and forth to get them. If I did not get them all right please let me know. It's kind of neat to sing along with The Waltons at the end of the tape.

Still working on my next chapter of California Reunion.

Sincerely Dot P CANADA

O Children he is one of us untouched by hate or fear

O Children we are one with him this joyful time of year

Join Hands----Join Hearts---

And sing his song of peace and men's good will.

Shout of the birth of the Christmas Child,

That child is with us still.

O Children wise man bid us doubt,

Thine wisdom is despair

O Children hope is ours to know what simple faith we share

Repeat Join Hands----- Join Hearts twice

Try singing it with the tape. See if I got any of the words wrong.

Sincerely Dorothy

KAREN'S COMMENT: I wonder if Jon "Jason" Walmsley wrote this song for the show? They seemed to sing a lot at different celebrations didn't they?

Karen, I just wanted to take a moment to say hi. Here in upstate New York, we are already blanketed with about a foot of snow. Thanks for all of your efforts with the Digest. Sometime I will post a message too. Good luck with your computer!

I know that Ellen Corby has been in ill health for years. Wouldn't it be nice if we all sent her a Christmas card to let her know that we're thinking of her? My only problem is that I don't know where to send my card. Could we send it in care of someone?

Thanks again. Pat

KAREN'S COMMENT: Pat this was such a nice thought that I decided to post it to the list. I hope you don't mind. I love the idea of a white Christmas, which I have NEVER had so I think you are very lucky, although I imagine that you might not agree at times. :-) We have just had the hottest November day on record here this week.

I think that you could probably send any mail care of the Waltons Mountain Museum and they would forward it on for you. Alternatively, I think someone said that the presidents of the fan clubs were also able to forward mail for you.

Hey there Walton Fans:

Well by the time we read Digest 49 Thanksgiving will be left-overs. Karen, sorry about your computer.....bummer! I know how it is to have computer troubles.

Julie, thankx for the info on G. W. I've never seen him on anything other than the Waltons.

Jim, I recorded the Waltons Christmas Album on a cassette. Now I can listen to it in my car. I love it.

Has anyone noticed, when you look at the Walton house, there are two large windows to the right of the front door, & two at the left.......when you go inside...there are no windows on the left side of the door? Or... did I just dream that? ???

Happy Holidays to you all , Lynn

KAREN'S COMMENT: Good question Lynn. Do you know I had completely forgotten the Thanksgiving holiday for you over there. It is something that we don't celebrate here, but it seems to have been a very important time for the Waltons because there are several shows based around that time. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. We have been hearing the news over here about those little septuplets who now seem to be almost off the danger list. Their parents certainly have plenty to give thanks for don't they? An amazing story.
