 Jdmounts asks: what is Dirty Work?

 Bob Saget: Dirty Work is a comedy starring Norm Macdonald about two guys who start a revenge for hire business to get a heart transplant for their dad, played by Jack Warden. And the doctor is Chevy Chase, who needs 50 grand right away cause the mob is gonna kill him for gambling.

 It's a very funny movie and I'm happy I directed it. And I wasn't even drunk while I made it.

 PEOPLE Online: Not till post-production anyway...

Bob Saget: I never drink...Unless it's with someone else who's drinking and then only family style beverages.

 _Memory_remains_ asks: What was it like working with Norm AND Chevy at the same time??

 Bob Saget: I think Norm is one of the funniest people alive. He wrote the script with Frank Sebastiano, and Fred Wolf.... Sorry about the comma. It's tough typing when you're nude. I just got caught in the keyboard.

 PEOPLE Online: Commas are okay. It's the colons we have to watch out for.

Bob Saget: So Norm is truly original and funny and so is Chevy...Who was a total pro and a pleasure to hang out with while shooting the film.

 Stellaaaaa asks: I heard Norm McDonald was crazy. Is that true?

 Bob Saget: Stellaaaaa....I love "Streetcar" too.....Norm is not crazy. Everyone else is....Norm is just an original voice and he has his own view of the world and that's what makes him so funny. He also has beautiful eyes and I know that cause I'm an eye specialist in my spare time.

 PEOPLE Online: The eyes are the window of the soul...

 Bob Saget: I love directing and I love acting too, but the two series I did were fun but not as in line with my comedy sensibilities as this movie is..... Not that I didn't think they were funny...Just different....I am more of a PG-13 to R kind of guy by nature...

 PEOPLE Online: How would you describe yr comedy?

 Bob Saget: I would describe my comedy as.....uh...... (thinking) uh....... gimmie a second.... uh........

 PEOPLE Online: Thinking is bad for yr complexion!

 Bob Saget: ...spontaneous!

 Bob Saget: I like all the people from "Full House" like family, so I do miss seeing them. I haven't seen them in a couple years. But I see most of the others from the show.

 _Memory_remains_ asks: Are you ever going to do like a Full House reunion? That was my fave show.

 Bob Saget: I saw Dave last night. He let one fly at the dinner table in front of my kids so I asked him to leave. I don't think there'll be a "Full House" reunion unless I can do it "R" rated. But I have a feeling no one would go for that.

 Bob Saget: I think 3 guys raising 3 girls in a house in San Francisco is a very believable premise. I have done dramatic roles if you've seen my comedy work....

 PEOPLE Online: I've cried during some of it. It's true!

 Bob Saget: But, yeah, I'd like to do more acting....And plan to...Thanks for saying such a nice comment to me...I'm very touched.

 NiceGuysFinishLast_ asks: Is this your very first time directing anything, be it film or a television show?

 Bob Saget: I wish someone could hold me right now like a small monkey. I never really thought I'd be an actor. I studied acting to learn more about directing and working with actors.

 PEOPLE Online: You were a film studies major in college, yes?

 Bob Saget: I studied film at Temple University in Philadelphia and actually won a Student Oscar in 1978. I directed two TV movies before Dirty Work, which opens June 12th -- For Hope, loosely based on my sister's life and her battle with Scleroderma, and Jitters, a Lifetime movie that starred Joely Fisher. Have I mentioned Dirty Work opens June 12th?

 Bob Saget: Actually, becoming a comedian just happened. I made a bad student film when I was 17 called "Beach Blanket Blintzes, and did some stand-up before the thing showed. Then I did it for 20 more years.... I worked at the Comedy Store and Improv for about ten years here in LA before I got a gig.

 PEOPLE Online: You've paid yr dues!

 Stellaaaaa asks: How did you find your experience at the Late Show with David Letterman? Did he frighten you at all? I heard he was a tyrant!

 Bob Saget: Dave Letterman is great. He's always been incredibly gracious to me. I used to go on his show on NBC a lot and I think he's very funny. He's not a tyrant. At least I never saw him be that way. Oh hell, we all have a bit of tyrant in us...Except really nice people like all you nice people out there in cyber land.... Let me just wipe my nose off... Sorry. I swear it is meklhjgdsojert typing....how was that?

 Bob Saget: Chris Farley was the best. Bad segue but the truth. Incredibly funny....And very sweet and always concerned how people were feeling. Best thing about his talent though was he always gave 150%..... I'm not good in math. I loved him.

 Bob Saget: Thanks. Candace is great. She and her busband Valeri are having a baby in a couple months. The show used to make me bawl too. How did you spell it?

 Bob Saget: I cried when it went off the air also..... I have no plans to do a TV show right now although I'd like to do a one-hour show maybe based on this book my management has acquired for me called "Simple Gifts" by Joann Greenberg--but as an exec. producer I think. I want to do some movies right now.

 PEOPLE Online: What's the book about?

 Bob Saget: Too long to explain....Trust me...But it's very original and I really love it.

 Bob Saget: Man have we bonded. I want to direct and act in some movies.... So I'm reading and writing and doing arithmetic.... The usual...I just want to love the next project I do, whatever it is.... Cause Dirty Work is such a funny movie, I don't want to do something crappy if I can help it.

 Bob Saget: I think more people have been talking about Norm Macdonald and Dirty Work 'cause of the news the past week so I'm happy about that.... I just want people to laugh and enjoy themselves while they're out on a date or with their friends when they see it... Or totally alone with a chicken.... And a life mask of Ginger Spice...

 Bob Saget: I want to go on record saying that whoever said "Chicken" is always funny is wrong. Yes, I like causing any mood swing in people...In my professional and personal life....

 Bob Saget: Happy to sad is good, and sad to happy is great.....Affecting people, in a seriousness is a very cool thing to be able to do.... I've only done it a few times I think in my career so far... Yes, I see myself in a dramatic role. I don't know what kind. Maybe the Ginger Spice Story...... A little surgery and I'm all set.

 Phoebe300 asks: What happened in the years between America's Funniest Home Videos and now? Did you take a well needed vacation?

 Bob Saget: No. But thanks for thinking I deserved a vacation. Most others just wanted me to stop altogether. I stopped doing the show, a couple months past and I started pre-production on Dirty Work. Almost a year later and here I am getting a stiff neck and typing like I'm on expresso.

 Bob Saget: Yeah....Comedy is collaborative and the producer Bob Simonds, the writers and Norm and I worked together with everyone to try to make the movie as funny as it could be in the budget and time frame and material we had. The writers Frank and Fred and of course Norm, worked round the clock rewriting on the set and all night to try to make the stuff funnier and crisper. They worked really hard, and are all very funny.

 Bob Saget: Geez, all you asked was if I liked directing it and I have the runs here....sorry. My biggest influence......... Lots of people...... Uh...... Dick Van Patten.... General Patten... I like patent leather... and patent pending...

 Bob Saget: I like anyone talented....I'm a talent slut as it were....I love filmmakers I think the most... Yeah, John and I worked out in New York last week in the gym in my hotel...okay it was in my suite and we're in love... His fiance, Rebecca Romaign (I spelled her name wrong--I'm sorry) is in the movie as the bearded lady. Romjin?

 Bob Saget: John is a stud....I study him to be the woman I want to be... I liked hosting home videos 'cause I liked seeing inside people's homes---a very vicarious job.... But after 8 years, it was time to move on, and hell, they wanted me to move on, so it was a beautiful mutual bye-bye....

 Bob Saget: Dear SweetValery....check the newer last two years of the video show or any of my recent tv appearances---I'm not laughing much anymore...... I used to...I guess out of nervousness, insecurity, or maybe I thought I was funny...I do think I'm funny......

 Bob Saget: Penis jokes are part of our civilization...It's not the size that's important, it's how much you talk about it.... I love making people laugh...I truly do....

 Dizymouse asks: Was it hard to make the transition from comedian to director or did people just laugh when you told them what to do?

 Bob Saget: It's a great feeling. Seeing audiences laugh at Dirty Work in test screenings was very exciting for me..... Like when stand-up went really......The comedians I worked with in this movie had seen me as a stand-up before. I'd hosted SNL with Norm and Chris Farley, but Norm tells me I'm the first live comic he ever saw when he was a teenager.... Or a little older than a teenager I'd hoped.....In Ottawa, Canada, and I picked on him in the audience.... But I'm an actor, so I love actors and the whole deal...So I'd like to think I made them comfortable. That's a director's job, to get the best out of the actors/comics/caterer....

 PEOPLE Online: Hey! I read Peter Biskind's book! The caterer is the PRODUCER's job actually.

 Tristan_PR asks: do you plan on doing any more stand-up?

 Bob Saget: A happy caterer on a film is very important, otherwise they spit in the salad... I have been doing some more stand-up here in LA and having some fun. It's a bit blue so I don't think I'll be taking it to a family venue ever..... But I love live performing.....Which is why I strip on the weekends.... What are all of you asking questions wearing? Had to ask...Isn't it required on here?

 PEOPLE Online: I'm pushing questions but for some reason they ain't showing. So lemme paraphrase:

 Bob Saget: I was born in Phila., PA, at one year old I moved with family to Norfolk, VA, at 14 moved to Encino, CA, at 17 moved back to Phila, graduated college and moved to LA in 1978, then New York in '87 for almost a year then back to LA.....more than anyone needs to know don't you think? Actually I said it all so I could remember...

 Bob Saget: There were a couple months prep, then 38 days of shooting with director of photography, Arthur Albert, then several months of post production with editor, George Folsey who edited movies like "Animal House" and "Trading Places".... (Sorry, I had to change my diaper...)

 PEOPLE Online: That's okay! From Pyaoliang: isn't this kind of a departure from yr wholesome Full House image? (I'm paraphrasing. Badly. Sorry Py!)

 Bob Saget: I guess, but I'm much more like this organically than the guy (he was a guy, wasn't he?) I played on "Full House." Pyaoliang, where are you from?

 PEOPLE Online: From ImaPimpp (whoa! do something about that logon name dude!) What kinds of movies would you LIKE to direct?

 Bob Saget: ImaPimpp, with a name like that I know what kind of movies you like to see, and this one (DIRTY WORK) is PERFECT for you.... I like comedies....dramas....anything good....you know? Nice names you all have....I want to have a big party and invite four of you....
