David Jones

Only 5 foot 3 inches and he gets the girl everytime!!

Davy Jones, what can I say about this teen heart-throb. I have never consitered myself to be a "Davy-girl" but after I saw Micky, Peter, and he in concert this summer, I do! What can I say? When he walked by us, practically 5 feet away, singing "Girl" from the Brady Bunch movie, I was quite taken. He is wonderful!
And I'm sorry to say, but HE was the original dummy in Head. I know the truth hurts, but so, at times, does life...

"David Jones left his home in Manchester, England to 'become something' when he was fourteen and a half. But he left with the full blessing of his father, a railway fitter.
Davy was born December 30, 1946 with a great will to succeed. His dad knew it then and he knows it now. The tough, compact lad headed for England's Newmarket Racetrack as a jockey trainee. Of course, he became a very good jockey. Between riding jobs, he discovered life among England's young set and explored places from which the great new musica; sounds were coming. Eventually, he was part of the scene at The Celler, launching pad for many of today's greatest groups.
His first acting job resulted from an audition at the BBC where he played a juvenile delinquent in a radio drama. This lead to a steady job on a daytime series called "Morning Story." And with all this, he continued at the racetrack. Through his riding, he met London theatrical executives who helped him land a leading role in the musical hit "Oliver" in which Davy played the Artful Dodger. His next show was "Pickwick," in which he won special acclaim from american critics. He has lived in the United States for nearly four years now, but returns frequently to England for visits with his father and sisters. His mother died six years ago.
Now starring in "The Monkees," David shares a small rented house in West Los Angleles with co-star Micky Dolenz.
