Hey Guys. We all know with George Clooney leaving ER after next season, something's got to happen with his and Carol's relationship! Right? Well, here's Gemma! She's from England and loves ER!!! She was kind enough to write about how she feels, and what might happen.... George Clooney leaving ER? What about Carol?By now, everybody knows that George Clooney, who plays Doctor Ross on ER has decided not to renew his contact when the current one finished, and instead has decided to pursue a movie career. Fortunately for us, the remaining cast has signed a contract which lasts until the end of series 7, so we still get left with some gorgeous guys! But, has anyone thought of what will happen to Carol and Doug's relationship if he leaves? The producers haven't decided on a possible ending yet. At the moment, they seem to have 2 options. One, he gets offered a place a a different hospital, and takes up the offer, in which case he can appear in a some of the following episodes. The other option is that a mad gunman runs through the ER and Doug gets in the way of a bullet, and dies. That would mean that he would leave our television screens forever, and there would be no return! Personally, i would rather he just stayed in the show, but he seems to be kinda certain about his decision, and doesn't seem to want to change his mind!If the producers of ER decide that Doug will die, it is good in a way, because it means that Carol and Doug will be together up until his last living moments, and he can die a happy man. However, if they choose the other option, and Doug goes to work in a different hospital, it means that Doug and Carol will be separated. If they are still in love when he gets the offer, it is likely that he would refuse it, because if they are still in the situation that they are in at the moment, they are too much in love for him to leave her side. Carol is not going to follow him to the next hospital, because we know that her contract runs until the end of series 7. The only way I see it happening is if they broke up before he left, which is certainly not something i would welcome having waited three years for them to get together! Lets just hope the producers find a way to keep Carol and Doug together. In the meantime, maybe they could get married???????? -Gemma
