Author’s Note: A short story based on the Song “The World Has Turned and
Left
Me Here” by Weezer. Buffy has trouble forgiving Angel once he has his
soul
returned and Angel is left broken hearted.
Disclaimer: The song belongs to Weezer (It’s from their self-titled
CD.
I
highly reccomend that one as well as their second one “Pinkerton”!!!! ).
The
characters belong to Joss. Nuff said.
Angel glanced around his apartment. It felt so good to be
himself
again. But
being himself meant feeling and feeling meant pain. < He went over to his CD player. Thumbing through his
collection he found
one
of Buffy’s that she had left behind. He sighed and put the CD in and
pressed
play.
Angel marveled at the acuracy of those words. Eighty years of
feeeling
sorry
for himself and then she comes along...
Since he had been restored he had done little else but
remember that
night.
He could still feel the softness of her touch. The way her eyes had
shined...
She couldn’t forgive him. Why should she? Poor girl. Her
boyfriend
turned
into a monster, killed her teacher, tried to kill her friends, told her
mother
that they had made love and then when it’s all over, wants to be
forgiven? Not
likely. < He imagined what he would say if she was standing in front of
him. He
would
tell her how sorry he was. How much he really did love her. Maybe she
would
look at him like she used to. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. He cursed and lay
down on
his bed. He closed his eyes and listened to the rest of the song.
When it was over he opened his eyes slowly. He saw her
standing right
in
front of him. <> he thought. But when she
reached
out her hand and whispered his name he thought different.
She collapsed ino his waiting arms and all he could say was
“Buffy.”
Just where I was before you appeared
And in your place, an empty space
Has filled the void behind my face
One thousand times in my head
You said you loved it more than ever
You said
Turning further everyday
Just where I was before you appeared
And in your place, an empty space
Has filled the void behind my face
I talked for hours to your wallet photograph
And you just listened
You laughed enchanted by my intellect
Or maybe you didn’t
You remain turned away
Turning further every day
The world has turned and left me here
Just where I was before you appeared
And in your place, an empty space
Has filled the void behind my face
