Episode # 1: The Shooting Star She Saw

The episode opens with the narrator explaining how human beings have left earth in search of a new life in outer space; while the United Earth’s Sphere Alliance gained great power. Colony citizens flustered and angered by the Alliance takeover of the colonies come together and put together "Operation Meteor". A plan to send a new arsenal to earth disguised as shooting stars, but the plan is discovered by the Alliance Headquarters.

The Alliance forces in space detect metal objects, 5 in total heading toward Earth’s atmosphere. The soldiers there notify Specials officer, Lt. Zechs Marquis who immediately recognizes what’s happening. His soldiers calculate how many objects they can catch up with, they can only catch one, and they alter course toward it.

Meanwhile, Heero spots a civilian shuttle, the shuttle containing Vice Foreign Peace Minister Dorlian and his daughter, Relena. He’s planning to shoot the shuttle down before he enters the atmosphere when the Alliance carrier arrives. They enter the atmosphere and Heero originally plans to simply fly away, but receiving orders the carrier has mobile suits he turns back around to destroy it. Inside the carrier, Zechs takes his Leo mobile suit and exits the carrier to battle Heero. Zechs manages to hit wing, and thinks he’s destroyed it when he transforms into a mobile suit, shocking the three men. Heero turns in his suit toward the enemy and destroys the two Aries suits with one blast of his beam gatlin. Zechs flies in close and latches onto Wing, jumping from the cockpit as the two hurdle downward splashing into the ocean.

Back on the ground Mr. Dorlian is being swamped by reporters about the meetings with the colonies. He meets an Alliance officer at the bottom of the escalator who tells him a car is waiting for him. Mr. Dorlian says he was planning to take care of some things for his daughter but is told General Septum is waiting for him. Relena says she can get home on her own when they officer says a separate car has been called for her. After watching her father drive away she begins to walk home by herself, distressed by his recent absence in her life. Passing by a beach she spots a body in the sand near the water and immediately runs down to him, and then goes to call an ambulance.

Elsewhere, Treize is watching a play while he speaks with Zechs about the loss of the mobile suits. Following, Treize reports to a meeting room full of high-ranking officials of the Alliance and is grilled about the loss of the mobile suits.

On the beach, Heero awakes as the ambulance approaches and then arrives moments later. He frantically tries to activate the explosive on his suit, but it malfunctions and he runs toward the medics heading toward him knocking them off the stairs and steals the ambulance. Relena watches shocked.

In another place, Deathsycthe, Heavyarms, Sandrock and Shenlong have all begun carrying out their orders attacking Alliance and other military bases. Relena arrives at school, and is surprised again as the strange young man from the beach arrives and introduces himself as Heero Yuy. After school, Relena approaches him with an invitation to her birthday party. He tears it in two and tosses it. She turns and begins to cry when he wipes her tears away saying he’ll kill her. Relena stares after him in horror, wondering what kind of person is he?
