Episode # 34:And it's name is Epyon...

Short Summary: The battle continues at the Luxemburg Base while Heero struggle to fight back, his gundam, Wing, has become immobile.   Seeing a solider on the ground he leaps out of his cockpit where the solider gives him the location of Treize's whereabouts.  The Castle behind the Luxemburg Base.   Heero goes there, his intention: kill Treize Kushrenada.  The result: His receving the Gundam Epyon from Treize. 

Transcript:

[Scene:  Luxembourg, Virgo's are attacking Wing. ]

[Wing is knocked into a wall and rendered nearly immobile. ]

Heero:  Is this the end?

[Heero sees a mental image of Relena. ]

Heero: ... Relena...

[Treize Faction attacks Virgo's before they finish Heero off. ]

Treize Faction Solider: Long live Treize Kushrenada!

[He launches his suit at the mobile suit and both are destroyed. ] 

[Heero leaps out of wing and looks around.  He runs over to an injured solider nearby. ]

Heero: You okay?

Solider:  Protect Master Treize... I beg you...

[The soldier dies; Heero looks up and sees a castle in the distance.  ]

[Romefeller HQ.]

Solider: Duke Dermail...

Duke Dermail:  Yes, what is it?  Did we receive confirmation of the Treize Faction's destruction?

Solider:  No sir, not exactly...

Duke Dermail:  Why not!?  How could they be withstanding our attack when we sent such a powerful military force there?

Soldier:  A gundam.

Duke Dermail: What's that?

Soldier:  Gundam 01 has joined them.  We've lost half of the mobile dolls we sent and it's turned into a virtual riot.  At this rate it's just a matter of time until Treize Kushrenada is freed from confinement.  What shall we do now Duke Dermail?

Duke Dermail: [turns toward window. ]  Contact our ground troops stationed elsewhere and tell them to head to Luxembourg at once to wipe out the gundam and the Treize Faction. 

Soldier: Sir! [he leaves. ]

Duke Dermail:  Treize is nothing more than a mirage with which to dazzle the faction's soldiers.  In exactly the same way the gundams symbolize the rebels.   We must do everything in our power to prevent the two from joining forces.

[Scene: Treize's Castle. ]

[Heero enters with gun drawn, everything's dark and quiet.  ]

Security System:  Voice and fingerprint check.. State your name.

[Heero places his hand on the scanner. ]

Heero: Heero Yuy.

Security System:  Identity confirmed, please enter.

[Doors slide open, and elevator goes down.   The doors open to a darkened library, he exits the elevator with gun drawn. ]

Treize:  Thank you for coming Heero Yuy.  I welcome you with my heart dear messenger of peace.

Heero:  You must be Treize...

Treize:  Now just go ahead and shoot me.  Put an end to this battle.

[Heero just stares at him as Treize closes his eyes and waits. ]

Treize:  What's the matter?  The battle won't end as long as I'm alive.   Isn't that the reason you came here?

Heero:  Tell me why you let me in.

Treize:  I programmed the computer to accept you a few months ago.  I thought that one of these days I could have a long discussion with you and the other gundam pilots.

Heero:  I have no interest in you Treize.

Treize:  Of course not.  You pilots should just be thinking about obtaining peace.  Peace for the earth or rather peace that will spread throughout the entire universe.  [Walks toward Heero.] 

Heero: Fighting is my only concern.  Peace is no more than an outcome after the fighting has ended.

Treize:  Then let me ask you, who's your enemy?  Is it me?  Or Oz?   Or Romefeller or is it your faraway home?  The colony that has betrayed you?

Heero:  Those who stand before me with the desire to fight me.  They are my enemies.

Treize:  In that case your battles will never end.  Since your enemy is destiny itself.

Heero:  Maybe so, but I'll continue to fight, that's the only choice I have; and I just dont' care when I do die...

Treize:  Don't you have any desire to try and (enjoy?) your destiny?  In my opinion Relena Pacecraft is a much stronger person than you.

Heero: ...

Treize:  I never thought you'd be feeling the limitations of your continuous battle; but it's a fact that no one is able to change the course of our times.   [Walks away from Heero. ]

Heero:  Well you should be able to... you used to have to power to control the future, you just need to repeat what you did before.  

Treize:  Hmmph.  I have no intention of doing that.

Heero:  I see. [Treize walks further. ]

Treize:  My greatest happiness in life was being able to talk with you. [He turns toward Heero with his pistol drawn.] And now I truly understand.  The time of my own death must coincide with yours.  Now that we've met each other, let's put ourselves in God's hands...

Heero:  Not a very good loser are you?  Well it makes no difference to me...

Treize:  A soldier whose willing to die... in my opinion that's the most correct attitude a person must take to fight.  But unfortunately you've lost sight of your enemy.  That makes you the same as myself.  My battle has also come to an end.

Heero:  Your battle hasn't ended, even as we speak, countless soldiers are sacrificing their lives for you.  I know for certain your battle hasn't ended; or rather if anything should end then it's my own miserable and useless retaliation.

Treize: hmmm [Lowers his pistol. ]

Heero: Huh?

Treize:  Heero Yuy, I employee you please don't disappoint me any further.   You mustn't be in the same position as myself. [Walks toward bookshelf.   Removes book and grabs key card. ]  I have a guide here that will show you how to live from now on.

[Inserts card into machine; a massive door opens and reveals Epyon. ]

[Scene: Space. ]

Soldier:  This is scarecrow 5, we've confirmed the presence of wing zero.   We'll continue with our operation.

[The soldiers place explosives on wing zero. ]

Soldier 3:  I think this is enough explosives.

Solider 2:  It's enough to blow up 3 Leo suits.

Solider 1:  Good, back to your Leo.

[Scene:  Peacemillion. ]

Howard:  So they're going to blow it up after all...

Zechs:  That's only natural, cause to Oz and Romefeller for that matter a gundam stands between them and their goal to conquer everyone. 

Howard:  Why don't we show them what that thing is really worth...

[Scene: Wing & Leo's. ]

Solider:  Okay, we'll proceed to blow up wing zero.

Solider 2:  Object approaching at high speed.

Solider 1:  What?

[A bright light is seen approaching from the distance. ]

Solider 2: It's the Tallgeese.  Lightning Count is here!

[Leo's begin firing.  2 Leo's are destroyed; the remaining Leo takes off, Zechs chases. ]

Solider 1:  Fortress Barge, this is Scarecrow 5, the Tallgeese is here.

Zechs:  Why escape from battle?  Has the influx of mobile dolls made the soldiers forget how to fight?  Or have my beliefs simply become out-dated? 

Howard:  Be on your guard Zechs, a high speed carrier full of mobile dolls is heading here...

Zechs:  By their formation it seems as though they were expecting me; considering how much they rely on mobile dolls it's a fairly obvious battle plan. 

[Zechs charges at mobile doll Taurus's. ]

[Commercial. ]

Zechs:  Mobile doll reinforcements?  They seem pretty well prepared... support troops I see... it looks like they overrated my abilities...

Soldier 1:  Ha!  Units 7-12 spread out and surround the rest.  I'm not going to let you escape Lightning Count.

Zechs:  Tallgeese, the reason I made it this far was because of you.  I'm eternally grateful.  It will be tough to part with you; but my priority right now is to survive this battle. [Tallgeese is hit. ]

Zechs:  Farewell Tallgeese... [Zechs leaps from cockpit and floats away toward Zero. ]

[Tallgeese explodes. ]

Soldier:  He blew it up!  Is he going to surrender?  I won't stand for it! 

[He sees Zechs heading to the wing zero. ]

Soldier: I get it... he's trying to transfer over to the wing zero.  Hmmmph.   You're finally lost it Lightning Count.  I'm changing the mobile dolls target... better yet, why don't I provide him with a somewhat more appropriate death.

[He picks up the detonator for the explosives placed on wing zero as Zechs enters Wing Zero. ]

Solider:  Once you meet your maker, you should curse yourself for your optimistic judgement. [Devices on wing explodes]  Scarecrow 5 reporting... Mission accomplish.   We destroyed Wing Zero & Tallgeese and executed Zechs Marquis.

Zechs:  *laughs*  But unfortunately you underestimated the wing zero.

Solider:  What?

[All mobile dolls are destroyed. ]

Zechs:  What incredible response time. 

Howard:  A perfect warrior such as yourself should be able to avoid being trifled with by that detestable machine.  I pray that the path you've chosen is the correct one Zechs... no Miliardo.  You're a Pacecraft, a symbolic guide that will lead us all to peace.

[Scene: Treize & Heero with Epyon. ]

Heero: A new model?

Treize:  Yes, and I've given it the name Epyon.  This suit has the ability to show the pilot the image of the enemy he's fighting and the pilot's future.   Regretfully, there wasn't any future for me to choose from.  After you pilot this suit, if you end up just the same as me, let us both part with our lives.

Heero:  Why did you decide to make this thing?

Treize:  All my life I've always thought that humans sensed their existence through continuous battle.    However, I couldn't come to any conclusions.   My battles now over, but still have yet to determine the reason for battle.   To find that reason I figured a gundam would be most appropriate mobile suit.   In addition, I'd like to give my blessings to the winner and the loser.  This mobile suit allow me to do so.

Heero:  Do you think you've built a god or something?

Treize:  Maybe I do... as long as the warrior has a genuine will to fight the Epyon will eliminate all distractions.  There's then nothing more noble and beautiful than a warrior without no distractions.  One could say he's the closest thing to perfection...

Heero:  I don't believe in that...

Treize:  Show me your abilities to battle and your future...

[Heero walks toward Epyon and gets inside. ]

Treize:  Heero Yuy, I must warn you of one thing.  You mustn't be a winner when you pilot that suit.  The gundam Epyon is not a weapon.  I hope you return here a loser...

Heero:  I'm hoping for the same...

Treize:  Heero, I won't permit you to die until you've destroyed me first.   I'm disarming the self-detonation device.

[Epyon activates and takes off. ]

[Scene: Luxembourg Battle. ]

Solider:  Oh man... there's no end to their numbers.  That Duke Dermail, he sent armies of additional troops.

[More Virgo's land. ]

Solider:  Don't give up.  The outcome doesn't matter, it's important that we keep fighting. 

Solider 2:  An object is rapidly approaching from 6 o'clock. 

Solider: What?  More troops?

[Show Epyon in flight mode. ]

Solider.  What's that? A gundam?

Solider 2:  It's unregistered.  It's not in our data.

[He destroys Virgo's. ]

Soldier:  Hold on... that thing.. is it our ally?

Heero:  Are they enemies?  No, they're just being told to fight.

Soldier: Get it!  Attack him!

Heero:  Are they the enemies?  No!  It's the same.  It's exactly like the wing zero.  [Zero takes over]  I'm getting rid of them all.   Anyone that fights is my enemy.

[Flashback]

Relena: Heero, I want you to make me a promise...

Treize Faction Solider: Protect Master Treize... I beg you...

He sees the self detonation of wing.

Treize: Regretfully there wasn't any future for me to choose from...

[End Flashback.]

Heero:  My future... my death...

[Scene:  Treize's castle.  Heero has returned with Epyon.  Heero stumbles out of cockpit. ]

Treize: So tell me, did you see your future.

Heero: ...

Treize: I see, let's get started shall we?  [He reaches out to hand Heero his pistol. ]

Heero:  Treize... I don't have the right to do it.

[Heero collapses. ]
