Episode # 6: Party Night
Short Summary: Relena is returned safely to earth with help from Dr. J and returns home. There she finds out Heero is transferring to a new school and probably to his next mission. Deciding to confront him she goes to his room. There she tells him of her meeting with Dr. J and he pulls a gun. Relena convinces Heero to stay for the party and they dance together until Heero spots and Oz carrier heading toward the school. Heero rushes off to battle them destroying the enemy mobile suits while protecting Relena, their target, from harm. Quatre discovers there are more gundams and pilots just like him while Duo takes a break and Wufei attacks a military sea port. Back at St. Gabrielle's Colonel Une is angered by her defeat and decides to fight him herself when she is called back to base by Treize. Confused by his protecting Relena and his inability to destroy her, Heero transforms Wing to flight mode and flies off...
[St. Gabrielle? Reporters talking. Relena's car drives up and they all rush toward it taking pictures. ]
Reporter: Are the colonies starting a war against us?
Guard: Clear the way!
Man: Don't push!
Guard: Step back!
[The gates open and the car drives inside. ]
Relena: How could they ask those things? None of them have any idea why father was actually assassinated.
[Scene: Relena's house?]
[Mrs. Dorlain is standing by the windows, and then goes to sit on the couch, reaching toward Relena's blue dress. She holds it close to her when there's a knock at the door. Mrs. Dorlain rises and Relena comes inside. ]
Relena: I'm finally home, mother...
Mrs. Dorlain: Relena...
[She walks over to her. ]
Relena: I'm so sorry... I wasn't able to save father...
Mrs. Dorlain: Relena, I'm just glad you weren't injured. I knew something like this would happen one day.
[Relena walks over to her father's desk and picks up his pen and remembers him telling her about her actual heritage. ]
Mrs. Dorlain: Did he say anything? Before he passed away...
Relena: No, he really didn't say anything...
Mrs. Dorlain: I have something to tell you Relena...
[She runs toward her and hugs her. ]
Relena: Mother!
Mrs. Dorlain: Relena?
Relena: You're my real mother... you'll always be my mother.
[Relena starts to cry.]
Mrs. Dorlain: Relena...
[Scene: Military base.]
Colonel Une (speaking over telephone/radio): Now that Vice Foreign Minister Dorlain is dead there are no longer any diplomats acting as a bridge between the earth and the colonies.
Treize: Right, he was quite the individual... just the type of person to sacrifice to a new era...
[Scene: Oz HQ]
Treize: Oh, by the way, Lady Une... you're not planning on returning here yet?
Colonel Une: No, I still have something to take care of. I need you to give me a little more time...
Treize: You mean Dorlain's daughter. It's unlike you to make mistakes Lady Une...
[Takes birdcage and opens it, releasing his pets. ]
Colonel Une: I'd like your permission to head toward the JAP Point with some mobile suits.
Treize: Take 5 mobile suits with you.
Colonel Une: That many Sir?
Treize: A dark shadow seems to follow us wherever we go.
Colonel Une: You mean the gundams?
Treize: the gundams have only been attacking our facilities and the new type of mobile suit. Think of it as a precaution. However, should a gundam attack us 5 mobile suits might not be enough...
[Scene: Party at St. Gabrielle's.]
Girl: We're gonna be late for the party!
Boy: Wait for me!
[Computer room.]
Heero: Delete files on Heero Yuy at the St. Gabrielle Institute. Transfer procedures complete.
[He peers out window at party goers. ]
Heero: I'm not involved.
Girl: Look, it's Relena...
Girl 2: Is it true that her father was assassinated by terrorists in the colonies?
[Everyone looks at her as she walks by. ]
Boy: Yeah, the press is all over it...
Girl 3: Relena ... I'm so sorry to hear about your father...
Girl 4: I wish I were anywhere but at a party... seeing all this festivity only makes me sadder.
Relena: That's very kind of you both, but I just can't be sad forever. Let's try to be stronger. Father wouldn't want me feeling sorry for myself.
Girl 3: We'll be strong Relena...
Boy behind Relena: What? Heero's moving to another school?
Boy 2: But he hasn't been here for a month yet...
[Scene: Heero's room. ]
[He's packing his suitcase. ]
Relena: Are you off to fight again?
Heero: Huh?
Relena: Where's your next mission Heero?
[He pulls a gun. ]
Relena: I met Dr. J. [Heero looks surprised.] So even you can be surprised. Ever since I met you it's been me who keeps getting surprised by you. If you got rid of me now it would cause quite a commotion... I don't think that's what you really want. The schools holding a party right now... might as well stay and enjoy it... at least until the dance is over.
[Relena curtseys. ]
[Scene: Military Base. ] [A ship is pulling into a foggy port. ]
Soldier: They finally made it.
Soldier 2: This fog would slow anyone down.
Soldier 1: We'll be moving the suits to the hangar at once.
[A soldier gasps as a tower explodes. ]
Soldier 1: What just exploded?
Soldier 2: Look at that!
Soldier 1: It's a gundam!
[Wufei in Shenlong uses his flame-throwers on more buildings. ]
Wufei: You let the enemy penetrate a little too easily. You can only blame yourselves... poor security.
[Scene: Circus]
[Clapping and music]
Ring Master: Where is that dimwit, he's up next.
Catherine: He's right over there...
[Trowa walks up.]
Ring Master; You're late kid. Why can't you just stay here and wait, like everyone else?
Trowa: I made it here on time... that's good enough.
Ring Master: You punk!
Catherine: We're up next... the audience is waiting...
Ring Master: Hmmph, get going!
Catherine: Just leave it to me. all you have to do is stand very still...
Ring Master: Ladies and Gentleman our next performance is by Catherine Bloom the knife throwing star of the circus.
[Crowd cheers.]
Catherine: Stand still Trowa.
[She throws 2 knives and then more. ]
Catherine: Come on, look a little scared. Otherwise how will I have any fun... my little doll... Huh? What is it? Unreal. He's not afraid of anything. It's death... he's begging for his death. I don't understand... You want to die... Trowa... Oh... Trowa...
[They bow. Backstage Trowa is beside the lion cage. ]
Catherine: Trowa, why didn't you dodge the knife?
Trowa: I'm not paid to dodge...
Catherine: Boy... you look just like a wild beast. Your eyes are just like that lions...
[Lions snarls.]
Catherine: Whoops, I guess that was an insult. You'd look better out there if you smiled a bit. You're good looking, and I'm not just saying that... oh I' god, I haven't even apologized to you yet. Trowa, I'm really sorry I hit you...
[Trowa stands.]
Trowa: I told you Catherine. This is my job.
[He walks away.] Catherine: Trowa! How about that smile?
[Scene: St. Gabrielle's- Dance]
[Students are dancing. Heero and Relena are dancing. Her eyes are closed and Heero is watching her. ]
Girl 3: Look, Relena and Heero!
Girl 4: She must be feeling better...
Girl 2: But it's a shame her dress wasn't ready for the party.
Girl 3: You just have to use your imagination. She's wearing her dress right now...
[Heero and Relena are dancing still. ]
Relena: Heero, I know too much about you... you still gonna destroy me?
Heero: yeah.
Relena: I didn't want to die with no answers, but now it's different. Now I know how you feel when you fight...
Heero: huh?
Relena: and that's because I'm on your-
Heero: Oh no, that's an Oz suit carrier...they've caught onto this place.
Relena: Heero!
[Colonel Une inside plane, pilot pops up on screen. ]
Colonel Une: Don't stop at anything... it will be reported by the press as another terrorist attack against the alliance.
Pilot: I don't feel too great about this... attacking a defenseless civilian facility?
Colonel Une: Then stay behind I'll have someone else lead the attack.
Pilot: But why?
Colonel Une: With that attitude you're risking your life as well as others. I can't have that in a leader.
Pilot: Forgive my subordination. I'll carry out our mission at once.
Colonel Une: very well, get on with it.
Pilot: Roger. We'll descend immediately.
Colonel Une: (muttering to herself) Stay calm, don't get angry...
[Mobile suits leave plane.]
Pilot: Right... let's go.
[ A beeping sound comes from his console, he sees a light and is destroyed. ]
Pilot 2: Hey, what was that?
Pilot 3: Watch out, it's the enemy!
[Wing rises up. They begin exchanging fire and the students run. ]\pa
Relena: Oh no! Those are the military's mobile suits! Why would they be coming here to fight?
[Two of Relena's friends run toward her and an explosion knocks the three of them over. ]
Heero: Leo, Aries, both confirmed as standard suits, I'll get 'em.
Pilot 2: Why is the enemy out here?
[Inside carrier.]
Pilot 2: We're fighting off an enemy mobile suit.
Colonel Une: What kind of suit is it?
Pilot 2: I don't know, I've never seen this kind before...
Colonel Une: (muttering--Just as Colonel Treize predicted. So it's probably them... but why did it show up here? ) Capture that unconfirmed suit! Dispatch the remaining Aries suits.
[Scene: Desert. ]
Quatre: Just as I thought... others are attacking Oz facilities besides just me... I know one of them is Trowa but... does this mean there are others too? Are there more gundam pilots like me? I wish I could meet them... all of them.
[Scene: Ship.] [Duo's laying on his suit.]
Man: This is good stuff..
Man 2: Yeah, there's nothing like a good cup of joe after a long days haul...
Howard: Hey Duo! Duo? What's up Duo? What'cha doing there?
[Duo sits up.] Duo: Nothing...just thinking how beautiful the moon is from earth.
Howard: You bet it does... it's a real beauty.
Duo: From the colony it's just too close it almost looks like a graveyard..
Howard: yeah... a graveyard...
Duo: I wonder how long I'll get to see the moon like this. Hmph, I doubt that guy even looks at the moon. He should try to enjoy life instead of trying to outsmart me. Well he's alive that is...
Howard: I know what you're saying. I know what you're saying but it's not that simple. It's just human nature.
Duo: What's that guy doing? I wonder...
[Scene: St. Gabrielle's] [Heero is battling. ]
Pilot 4: I don't believe it. His suit is much more mobile than ours can ever hope to be...
Pilot 3: It's a flight model! Ascend!
Heero: It's too heavy fool!
Relena: Everything will be okay. Stop crying and run...
Both girls: Okay.
Relena; It'll be all right. Just hurry,
Both girls: We will.
[Wing stands in front of Relena and she appears on his screen. ]
Heero; Relena...
Relena: Heero...
[A suit attacks and hits wing in the back while knocking a huge chunk of building down towards Relena. Wing dives to save her. ]
Heero: What in the heck am I thinking? I'd be better off if she died, wouldn't I?
[The suit lands behind him and begins shooting. ]
Pilot: What's going on, he stopped.
Colonel Une: What? Do you mean the gundam's protecting Dorlain's daughter?
Pilot: Yup, it's no mistake. It's the girl we're after... Relena Dorlain
Colonel Une: Could it be... that girl somehow knows the gundams pilot?
Relena: Heero, is that you?
Heero: What's wrong? I can't do it... What's wrong with me?!
[He stands and outs his shield through the last suit. He turns toward Relena. ]
Soldier: All of our suits have been destroyed.
Colonel Une: Then I'll go! [stands]
Soldier: Colonel Treize is on the line.
Colonel Une: What? Treize: Lady Une... cancel you mission, return to base immediately.
Colonel Une: But Colonel Treize-
Treize: I've decided to let Dorlain's daughter live...
Colonel Une: But Colonel the mission was to-
Treize: Lady, we were met by an unexpected enemy. Don't think of it as a failure. Return immediately.
Colonel Une: Right... I understand.
[Scene: Treize's office. ]
Noin on phone: Thank you very much Col. Treize. I'm sure Lt. Zechs will be pleased.
Treize: Zechs has always gone out of his way to help me out. Saving Relena is the very least I can do to thank him for all his efforts. Please give my regards to Lt. Zechs.
Noin: Yes sir! [Noin vanishes and Treize opens window. ]
Treize: So the rumors were true... he still has a living blood relative. He could have said something...
[His two green birds land on his finger. ]
Treize: I see, you'd rather stay here would you?
[Scene: St. Gabrielle's. ]
[Wing stands straight]
Relena: Heero! That's you isn't it? Answer me! Heero! Tell me why you rescued me!
Heero: (thinking) I don't know, why did I save her... she knows too much!
Relena: You didn't finish me, you said you were gonna! Answer me Heero!
[He turns around. ] [She gasps as he walks toward her. She remains perfectly still as he lowers his shield into the gravel beside her. ]
Relena: Heero...
Heero: Why can't I finish her?
[He stands, transforms and takes off.] Relena: Heero! Please Heero... don't run away from me...
