Chapter 1.
The sun just creeping over the horizon. The mist from the night before was slowly rising into the heavens, only to greet you the next night. A small cabin was just behind a pair of trees, out of the morning sun. Inside the cabin were four main rooms. Two bedrooms, a kitchen and a den. It was cute and secluded. In one of the bedrooms was a young boy no older than eighteen. His pale blond hair messed from the night's sleep. He lay in his bed, awake, gazing at the ceiling. In the room across the hall, there was a young maiden in it. Her golden blonde hair covering part of her porcelain face. Her covers were pulled up and she looked very snug. As though the wars had never happened. All the pain and suffering, never to be heard of. But that was only a dream, yet to become reality. The young man silently got out of his bed and made his way to the closet for his clothes. He dressed in a pair of khaki pants and a red T-shirt. He headed over to the woman's room. Knock, Knock.
"Dorothy? Are you up yet?" He asked.
"Yeah, Quatre, I'm up." Came her sleepy voice.
"May I come in?" He asked.
"Sure." Quatre walked in and noticed Dorothy was still in bed.
"Rise and shine. We have a big day ahead of us. Remember, we have to meet the others by noon."
"Yeah, don't remind me." Dorothy threw her cover over her head.
"Come on. I don't want to be late."
"Who cares what you want! I just want to SLEEP!" Dorothy emphasized the last word. She wanted to have some more sleep. Last might was filled with nightmares. She just wanted someone to hug and comfort her.
"Dorothy, is something wrong?" Quatre's voice said gently next to her.
"No, why? I'm just tired." Dorothy said looking at him.
He was laying on the bed, next to her. He stroked her soft hair. "You were starting to cry and I wondered what was wrong." Was his reply.
"I was not crying!" She came back. "
Then what do you call this." He said carefully swiping his finger under her eye reveling one of her unknown tears on his soft hands.
"Oh Quatre! It was awful! All night I had nightmares." She cried onto his shoulder.
Quatre was speechless. He never really thought that she would tell him. Since they had first met, she had kept her whole life a secret from him.
"That's OK. Just tell me everything you want. You know I'm' here for you." He gently lifted her head off his shoulder. Dorothy looked into his deep blue-green eyes. In them she saw something she had never seen before. She saw what the war had taken away from her. She saw in his eyes love, true love.
"Quatre," Dorothy said, "Do you really mean it?"
"Of course I do. Why wouldn't I?"
"Thank you." Quatre couldn't hold back his emotions anymore. He leaned in and kissed her soft lips. At the touch, both teens gave in to their feelings and the kiss became more passionate. Dorothy wrapped her arms around Quatre's neck and pulled him back down to the bed. Of course he didn't object, and answered her motion by sticking his tongue into her mouth. Dorothy opened her eyes in shock. 'Is he really wanting to do what I think he is? Am I ready to do it?' Dorothy thought to herself. 'Do I really want to do this to her? I don't know. I was letting my emotions get to me.' Quatre reluctantly pulled away from Dorothy. He was still laying on top of her while looking into her ice blue eyes.
"Quatre?" She asked.
"Dorothy, we can't do this. We have to take control. After all we have to set an example."
"Yeah, I know." Dorothy looked away. He pushed himself off the bed and helped her up.
"We really do need to get going." She said walking to her closet to get dressed. She looked in her vanity mirror and saw Quatre still standing there. She then looked at herself and noticed she still had her bed outfit on. Which consisted of a bra and short, short shorts.
"You can go now." She said turning to him with a smile.
"Oh, OK your majesty. But may I have one request?" He said bowing. Dorothy giggled a little. She hadn't done that in a while. She nodded and he walked toward her. Quatre grabbed Dorothy around the waist and dipped her. He then kissed her lips again. This time not so hard.
Quatre let her go and left the room.
"Ya know," She said to her reflection. "I think he may be the key to my happiness." Dorothy walked to her wardrobe and slowly got dressed while thinking of what had just happened.
Chapter 2.
Quatre and Dorothy sat in silence on the vessel carrying them to their destination, the Sank Kingdom. Everyone was going to be there. Trowa, Catherin, Duo, Hilde, Wufei, Sally, Heero, Relena, Zechs, and Noin. Quatre smiled at the thought of seeing everyone. A question came to his mind. He didn't know why it just did.
"Dorothy," He asked.
"Yes?"
"Do you get along well with the others?" Dorothy looked away.
"No, not really, just Miss Relena." Was her mumbled answer.
"Oh, well maybe we can change that." He looked out the window on his plane. Dorothy leaned over him and looked out herself. It was beautiful. They were flying just barley above the ocean. The dolphins could be seen weaving trough the clear water.
"Where are we at?" she whispered into Quatre's ear. He looked over at her. There lips were a centimeter apart. He resisted the urge to kiss her again.
"We're over the Caribbean Ocean." He whispered back to her. She looked over at him. He was looking out the window at the sun. Dorothy again asked a question.
"Quatre?"
"Hun?" he said looking back at her.
"What we did earlier," she again looked into Quatre's eyes. She saw him grimace.
"Dorothy, I didn't mean to push you that far." Dorothy was speechless. That wasn't what she had in mind. She cupped his chin in her hand.
"It's ok. I didn't mean to push you either." She leaned forward and kissed him again on the lips. This time it was short, sweet, and to the point. Unlike the passionate one earlier. Quatre couldn't resist anymore. Why was she doing this to him? After all, he was a victim of war. He could withstand anything, right? But Dorothy was different. There was something about her. Dorothy drew away from Quatre and looked out the window across the isle. What was it with Quatre? He had something that totally made her personality do a one-eighty. Something about him, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. About half an hour later they were at the Sank Kingdom.
Quatre walked out of the plane and saw his friends waiting to greet him. Duo had his arm around Hilde, who had her arms full with a sleeping baby. And Trowa was standing, with a smile on his face. Catherin was next to him, she looked a little fat. Wufei and Sally were in the rear. Heero and Relena were standing in the front, arm in arm. A two year old ran up to Quatre and Dorothy.
"Uncle 'Atre! Aunt 'Doroty!" Quatre saw Dorothy smile at the little toddler. He wished that he could have a family someday.
"Quatre! Dorothy! Nice to see ya!" Duo said coming up to them.
He then whispered in to Quatre's ear, "When's the wedding? I want some cake!" Quatre slapped Duo on the back of his head. Duo just smiled and headed back to the mansion.
"Don't mind him. He's just stupid." Hilde said walking up to them.
"Yeah Duo just doesn't know when to shut his big mouth." Relena said. "Come on, let's get your room."
Inside the mansion: Every one was sitting around a fire in the den when Dorothy got through unpacking her things. She looked around and saw that all the seats were full. She then saw Quatre sitting in a big, comfy chair and went to him.
"Quatre, can I sit down at your feet?" she asked him quietly.
"You can have the chair if ya want." He said getting up.
"No that's OK, I would rather sit on the floor. It keeps me more awake and alert."
"OK, if you insist." Quatre then sat back down and Dorothy sat down on the floor between his legs. Her arms were draped over his legs.
"Now that everyone is here we can get started." Noin stated.
"MOMMYYYY!!!!!!!!!" a shrill voice came form upstairs.
"Heero, take care of him."
"Oh, Miss Relena, may I?" Dorothy asked. She wanted to know what it was like to be a mom for one night at least.
"Sure." Heero said, relieved that he didn't have bed duty. He almost smiled at the thought of Dorothy and a two year old. "I'll help her."
Quatre said getting up. After a while of playing 'hide-and-seek' with the toddler, Dorothy and Quatre managed to get him into bed.
"Now, is there a story you would like to hear?" Quatre asked. "
Yeah!" he answered.
"Which one?" Dorothy asked.
"It doesn't matter. But make it good." He said laying back in his bed, waiting for the pair to start.
"OK, I know one." Quatre started.
"It's about a young man who feel in love with a gorgeous woman."
"OK, I guess it'll do." The youngster said.
"OK, Once upon a time, there was a huge castle. In it lived a young man by the name of ummâ¦Quatre. And Quatre one day found a young girl wandering around the castle. He asked what her name was and she said Dorothy. They soon feel in love. Then a magic man told them an old story." Quatre was now looking Dorothy right in the eye. He didn't even notice that the kid was asleep. "Remember the morning moon. It will bring danger and sorrow. Yet will bring life and love. So heed my warning, let no man stray from his path on the day of the morning moon."
"Quatre, I think he's asleep." Dorothy whispered. She still hadn't taken her eyes away from Quatre's eyes.
"I know." Quatre cupped Dorothy's chin in his hands. He gently took her in his arms. Dorothy was in to much shock to protest. Some from Quatre's story and some from Quatre's action's.
"Quatre, do you know what you're doing?"
"Yes." Quatre said, moving his mouth to her neck.
Dorothy watched as a flicker of something in Quatre's eyes left. "No."
"Quatre?"
"Sorry, Dorothy. I don't know what came over me."
"That's fine. Let's head back now, OK."
"Where have you guys been?" Duo said mock hysterical.
"Duo, it was only half an hour!" Hilde said, smacking him upside the head.
"Well, is he asleep?" Relena asked.
"Yes, miss Relena." "Good. Now back to business."
Dorothy was again sitting in-between Quatre's legs. Quatre was gently brushing her hair with his fingers. She could tell he was bored. So was she. Relena really wasn't the best person to hold a meeting with. Dorothy laid her head down on Quatre's leg. She thought about the story Quatre had told.
'Why were his eyes so distant? And what is the morning moon?' she thought.
"Dorothy. Time to go to bed."
"Hun?" she said, lifting her head off of Quatre's leg.
"The meeting is over." Catherin said to her.
Dorothy and Quatre headed up to their room.
"Are yall gonna be ok by yourselves? Think you can handle being alone." Duo said slyly.
Again Duo got another bump on the back of his head by Dorothy. "We can handle ourselves."
"Goodnight all." Quatre said as he entered. The room was rather large. It reminded Dorothy of a suite at a hotel. There was a bath room and a king sized bed in it. Dororthy heard the shower going and figured Quatre was in it, so she headed to the bed to watch some TV while she was waiting. A few minutes later Quatre walked out wearing a pair of boxers and a green T-shirt. "Your turn." He said.
