Louise MacNeil, aka Neffie
DOB: 25/06/76
I've been a Monkees fan since my sister was in love with Michael Jackson and
Keeeeith (sigh) Partridge. When I was very young (3 or 4), the Saturday morning
lineup was: Jackson 5 cartoon, Monkees, Partridge Family. My sister would NOT
let us change the channel during this hour and a half (she's seven years older
than I am, so I couldn't exactly wrestle her for control). She loved Keith. She
loved Michael Jackson. She didn't care about the Monkees at all. I, on the other
hand, wanted Michael J. and Keith to DIE... but really liked the Monkees.
Especially Mike. I had an idea in my head (from whence it came, I don't know)
that they got to drink root beer whenever they wanted, and thus, they were the
coolest people I'd ever seen. I was four, remember. Plus, their matching
outfits... I wished my friends and I all had matching outfits but sadly, it
never happened. I still try to convince them today that we should all dress
alike, saying that I'll even be the one to wear the green hat, but they just
kind of shake their heads sadly and walk away.
Mike has always been my favorite, for reasons too numerous to go into. Anyway,
when I got older, the Monkees weren't on anymore. (neither, gladly, was the
Partridge Family). I kind of forgot about them. But when I was older, this show
came on TV called "Television Parts". I loved it! I didn't really recognize Nez,
I mean, you've gotta admit he changed slightly between the '60's and the '80's,
but I loved that show. My family didn't, however, and if I wanted to watch it, I
had to watch in the basement all by myself on the black and white tv. It was
creepy. Then MuchMusic started airing the Monkees again when I was 13, and I
have been re-hooked ever since. That was a very very long profile, non? Oh,
other things about myself that I find interesting: I am deathly afraid of birds.
They freak me out. I am a semi-vegetarian (I eat chicken, because when I was 6,
a chicken attacked me, and so I am getting my revenge...). If you meet up with
me in a chat room, I will throw duck guts at you. But don't worry, that's just
an expression of my affection.
The End.
