"The Long Sandy Hair of Neftoon Zamora" is Michael Nesmith's new
unfinished novel on the Web.
The story begins in New Mexico. While Mike is visiting a friend, he
comes upon the blues recordings of Neftoon Zamora. He becomes determined
to seek Zamora, who is "part Martian, part Zuni Indian, part Delta blues
player" out in his home town of Chuchen. He reaches Apache Springs,
where he meets Neffie, whose job is to pose as the real Neftoon Zamora.
Neffie knows the legends of Zamora and together they journey to Quemado.
The first seven chapters of the story is amazing. (Thirteen chapters are
planned.) The story unfolds and tells of the friendship and love between
the two. It is a thought-provoking story and I would recommend it to
anyone.
