What attracted me to the Monkees and Mike in particular: I began
watching
them in 1969 (they were still a trio at that point). Even at the very
young age of three, I loved them and Mike stood out. As I grew up, I
watched them every chance I got and Mike stayed my favorite. What
attracted me just from the TV character standpoint was his take charge
attitude, his sense of humor and of course, his musical ability. What
attracted me to Mike personally was his independence and the fact that
he
had the guts to go his own way no matter what other people thought or
said. Sometimes he was right, sometimes not. He has a very innocent
insecurity about him. This comes through loud and clear through his
body
language and I've learned to read him very well. He hasn't always been
the nice guy but hey, we've all had our moments too. I probably respect
him more than most people I know.
What is my favorite part of Elephant Parts? The marningrita bit, Elvis
drugs, Clandestine Typing Service, The Light video
Favorite concert experience: Getting to see Mike live in Dallas in 92
on
the front row no less! Awesome show. If he ever does anymore shows, I
highly recommend you see one.
Also, playing a part, along w/the four others in bringing the Monkees to
Austin this year. One of the most personally satisfying experiences
ever.
We came 600 tickets short of a sell out! And an added note, yes, Nez
WAS there! There was a confirmed sighting in section 4 row 1. He was
dressed as a lumberjack Hey, he was in Arlington in 86 dressed as
Col Sanders, I was at that one too...that was my very first concert. I
just wish I'd known he was there.....
