Chapter 1:

Lucky Spencer and his friend, Matt Johnson, walk down the hall, as they realize
it’s the first day of school. As they are walking, they spotted the beautiful
and popular Sarah Webber. She was practicing her moves for cheer leading. She
saw both boys approaching her, so she decided to talk to them.

"Hey Matt, Lucky," she smiled, "What’re you doing here?"

"Our first period class is up here." Lucky explained.

"That’s great," Sarah sighed, "Um…what class do you have?"

"Honors writing." Matt smiled.

"Yeah…it’s English, but it has a lot of writing and drama." Lucky explained.

"Wow, I didn’t get into that class," Sarah laughed softly, "I’m stuck in gym
right now."

"Oh, well have fun."

"I will." Sarah turned around and continued to practice.

Lucky and Matt headed to their class. "Man, that Sarah Webber… I’ll never have
a chance with her."

"She’s way out of your league," Matt explained, "You need someone who’s nice,
smarter than a can opener, and who has a great personality."

"But that’s all Sarah." Lucky lowered his head.

"Well, except about smarter than a can opener." Matt stifled a laugh.

"Hey, you’re talking about Sarah Webber…the most perfect…" Lucky sighed.

"Snap out of it man!" Matt snapped his fingers in front of Lucky’s face, "You’re
really making me sick. Besides, she’s going out with Nikolas Cassadine. Your
half brother."

"You always have to remind me about that?" Lucky gave Matt a cold stare.

"Hey, I’m just telling you the truth," Matt looked around the halls, "Whoa."

"What?" Lucky asked.

"Looks like you are going to witness the Johnson charm." Matt fixed himself.

"What are you talking about?" Lucky felt confused.

"Look to your right…damsel in distress…locker jammed." Matt pointed.

Lucky looked to where Matt was pointing to and immediately saw what Matt was
talking about. A girl with short brown hair, curled at the bottom, wearing a
black skirt and crushed velvet burgundy sweater, she was wearing a pair of black
loafer heels. Lucky never saw her before, so he assumed she was new.

"Just watch man." Matt started to walk to her direction.

Lucky watched Matt, and saw that the girl got her locker open. She quickly
placed her coat inside the locker and walked out of there. Lucky laughed as
Matt gave a disappointed face.

"So," Lucky patted Matt on the back, "She couldn’t resist your ‘Johnson’
charm?"

"Be quiet," Matt laughed, "I didn’t get a chance to…"

"Well Matt, we have to go."

"Yeah, we do!" Matt started to run, "Last one there is a rotten egg."

"What?" Lucky ran after him.

Lucky saw as Matt headed to the wrong classroom. ‘Where is he going?’ he
laughed to himself. Lucky entered the classroom and looked inside, there was
the girl. She was sitting at the desk, reading "Chicken Soup for the Teenage
Soul". He sat down at his desk and noticed they were to only two in the class.
Lucky glanced at his watch. ‘Where is everyone?’ he asked himself.

He looked to the girl. He decided since he and she were there, he should break
the ice.

"Hi." Lucky smiled.

The girl placed her book down and looked to Lucky and smiled. "Hey."

Lucky looked at the girl and thought that she was so beautiful. Her green eyes
twinkling as she smiled to him. ‘Wow.’ He said to himself. "S-s-so are you
new?" he asked nervously.

"Yeah," She smiled, "Unfortunately."

"Where did you move from?" he asked.

"Oh, Boulder, Colorado," She answered.

"Oh?"

"Yeah…what’s wrong? Am I too foreign?" She asked flirtatiously.

"No…I know someone who is from Boulder," Lucky laughed softly.

"Since I’m into introductions…I’ll go first," she extended her arm, "I’m
Elizabeth Webber. What’s your name

"Lucky."

"Excuse me?" Liz blushed.

"Oh no," Lucky felt his face hot, "I’m Lucky Spencer."

"Oh sorry," Liz laughed, "That’s a really cute name."

"Thank you," Lucky smiled, "So are you related to…"

"Sarah Webber?" Liz paused, "Yeah that’s me."

"I’m sure everyone told you that," Lucky smiled.

"No," Liz looked to him, "You’re the first actually."

Just then, Matt ran into the room laughing. Lucky wondered why he was laughing,
but he watched as Matt stopped when he realized his "damsel in distress" was in
the same class as he.

"Why hello," Matt approached Liz, "Are you new in town?"

"Well…if you haven’t seen me here before…I guess I am," Liz laughed, "I’m from
Boulder, Colorado."

"Do you ski?" he asked.

"Yes I do," Liz smiled, "Do you?"

"Matt lives for skiing," Lucky got in the conversation.

"Oh your name is Matt?" Liz asked.

"Yeah, Matt Johnson," he took her hand, which was resting on the desk, "And you
are?"

"Elizabeth Webber."

Matt let go of Liz’s hand quickly. "You wouldn’t happen to be related to Sarah
Webber, would you?"

"As a matter of fact…I am," Liz looked at his reaction, "Is that a problem?"

"Um…what is two times two?" he asked.

"What?" Liz laughed, "Four. Uh why are you asking me this?"

"And who was the writer of "Romeo and Juliet"?"

"Oh I know this," Liz playfully snapped her fingers, "You know its on the tip of
my tongue…a English guy…he was a playwright…um Shake…Billy Shakestown." She
sighed, "Everyone knows that it was William Shakespeare."

Lucky started to crack up. Liz was so funny. She had a cute sense of sarcasm
and he loved it. She was funny, beautiful, and perfect.

"Okay…do you mind telling me why I had a pop quiz?" Liz asked, "Did I pass as
the ‘Bookworm’?"

"I just had to find out whether you inherited your sister’s…" Matt trailed off.

"Oh, my sister’s ‘Air head’ dumbness?" Liz laughed, "No, I didn’t. Thank God."

"You don’t like your sister?" Lucky asked.

"Um… it’s an issue I don’t want to get into," Liz said seriously, "I’m going to
continue with my reading, if you don’t mind." Liz opened her book and started
to read it again.

Just then, a whole bunch of students made their way into the class. The teacher
following. Lucky watched as Liz placed her book away and paid attention to the
teacher. Something didn’t seem right when he asked her if she hated her sister.
‘Maybe Sarah did something to her.’ Lucky assumed to himself. He shrugged and
paid attention.
