Chapter Two: "Playground"

“Want to play some pool, Lucky?” Veronica lowered the glass to the counter.

Lucky shook his head, which made the dizziness worse, “No, thanks, I really have
to make a delivery then get home to my girlfriend.”

Veronica pursed her lips into a pout, and took his hand in hers, “Aw Come one
Lucky, Just one little game. Do your business and then we'll play one round of
pool, and then I'll let you go, I promise.” She smiled.

Lucky sighed and looked at his watch. 10:30. He should have met Elizabeth 3
hours ago. He looked back at Veronica who was doing her best puppy dog
impression, and figured the only way out of here was to play some pool. “Ok,
let’s play some pool.”

Veronica smiled. “Ok, here's a quarter. Go get the table ready and I'll meet you
there in a second.” Lucky took the quarter from her hand and walked over to an
empty table. Veronica sighed and dug in her purse again. She pulled out a small
vial, and held it concealed in her hand. “Bartender? Could you refresh our
drinks?” He took both drinks from the bar and filled them up to the top.

When Veronica was sure no one was looking she opened the vial and poured the
contents in Lucky's drink, stirring it with her finger. She picked up both
drinks and walked over to the pool table Lucky was setting up for them, “Here ya
go.”

He took the drink from her hand and set it down on the table, “Thanks.” he
muttered.

Veronica cooly picked up the drink, “Oh no, no Lucky, you have to drink before
the game, for good luck” She held the drink in front of him.

“Wow, she's pushy,” Lucky thought to himself, “Okay,” he said, taking a big gulp
of the beer. Lucky winced as the liquid made its way down his throat. He coughed
and squeezed his eyes shut, hoping to stop the tears that were coming to his
eyes. He leaned over the pool table and tried to regain his composure, but it
wasn't coming fast enough.

“Lucky?” Veronica asked. This was working already. “Lucky, I think you better
lay down,” she took him around his waist. They walked over to the stairs, “Come
on, I'll take care of you,” she helped him up the stairs and into a room.

The room was dark and only held a bed and a dresser, Lucky immediately collapsed
onto the bed, his mind was asleep but his eyes were still open, “What are you
doing?” he asked when he looked up at Veronica. She was undoing the buttons on
her shirt, “I'm going to make you feel a whole lot better, Lucky. So sit back
and enjoy the ride.”

Lucky was alarmed and tried to get up. His body protested and a wave of nausea
passed over him. He closed his eyes. “What did you do to me?” No answer. “What
did you do to ME??” He yelled.

Veronica climbed up on the bed and began taking his shirt off. “Nothing… just
gave your something to… relax.” She laughed and pulled his shirt off over his
head.

“No. No, don't do this.” He asked. “Please… no.” Lucky's protested were silenced
by her hand being placed over his mouth,

“Please Lucky don't make this unpleasant for me.” she unbuckled his belt, and
slowly kissed his chest. Lucky's mind blanked out her climbing on top of him, he
kisses and touches, and everything was blocked and replaced with the memory of
his true love, Elizabeth.

“Elizabeth” he whispered. He tried hard to hold her face in his mind, but
everything kept slipping away. When he looked at the women on top of him, he
felt sick, “No, Veronica, This is wrong! No!” he tried to yell but it took all
his strength just to talk. Tears welled up in his eyes as she started touching
him and fondling him. All he could think about was Elizabeth and how much he
loved her. He squeezed his eyes shut at the sight of Veronica kissing his body.
Finally she took him, raiding his body with her touch. He watched in horror as
this woman manipulated his body, and he wasn't able to lift a finger to stop it,
all he could do was lay there and watch. Sweet oblivion wouldn't even come to
take him. Soon a silence passed over the room and she dropped off of him, but
still pounding her kisses on his mouth. Then she stopped. Everything stopped.
Time stopped. All he could see was blackness. He could still smell her perfume.
Veronica watched as Lucky slowly slipped away from consciousness and leaned over
him. She'd given him to much Midazolam. (Yes, this is a real drug used by Date
Rape offenders. I used this drug for the story instead of Rohypnol for plot
reasons.)

She left the room quickly and ran outside. She spotted a payphone and cautiously
walked towards it. “911, how can I help you?” Veronica quickly told where Jake's
bar was and the room Lucky was in and hung up. She took a handkerchief out of
her purse and wiped the phone. She turned and quickly ran away.
