Chapter 22: The Cassadines and Corinthos Family Morning

Henry ran down the steps and went over to the cupboard to get out some Corn
Flakes (Kellogg’s that is) because he wanted that great, refreshing taste, a
healthy breakfast and to be happy for the rest of the day. **cheesy promo ends
here**

Sally, who was already in the kitchen looks at him.

Sally: Is something bothering you Henry? All last night during dinner you
seemed a little... distracted.

Henry: No, oh no, I'm fine mom. *thinking* Yes, just peachy. You know that
neighbor we used to have in Florida, well now she's living here under an assumed
name, marrying some guy named Jones and everything about it is killing me with
curiosity, but that's okay, I'm just ecstatic.

Sally: You finished your homework, right?

Henry: Yes, every last hideous detail. You ready with your meeting with
Cassadine?

Sally: Yes, I am.

Henry: What took so long, anyway?

Sally: Mr. Cassadine has a busy schedule, I was lucky to get penciled in now.

Henry: What could be keeping that man so busy?

Stefan and Alexis stood by the elevators making discussion.

Alexis: So how do you think Miranda's confessions went?

Stefan: I do not know any of these people well that she is telling she is really
my sister to, but I can't imagine they'd be too pleased with being lied to, no
matter what the means.

Alexis: Yes, I thought the same. She arrived rather late last night.

Stefan: Well she had a lot of people to talk to.

The elevator opened and there was Katherine and Alexis' stomach suddenly turn
over.

Katherine: Stefan, Alexis, hello.

Stefan: Hello Katherine.

Alexis: Katherine. *as if she were spitting the name*

Katherine: You both going up?

Stefan enters the elevator while Alexis is hesitant. Alexis thinks "In an
elevator with Katherine Bell? What if it gets stuck?"

Alexis: No, I have to take care of something first.

Alexis took off and the elevator doors closed. They went up from the third
floor and Katherine and Stefan talked.

Katherine: So, do you have any plans next week, I was hoping that maybe we could
go somewhere.

Stefan: I am afraid I have business all next week and will have no time to
socialize.

Katherine subconsciously got annoyed with the word "socialize."

Katherine: Oh, maybe some other time.

The doors open and they both walked out, and there stood Bobbie.

Stefan and her exchanged glances. Before any of them could say anything, Tony
came by.

Tony: Bobbie, I need to talk to you about this afternoon's surgery.

Bobbie: Of course.

They left, but not after Bobbie and Stefan gave one final glance to each other.

Katherine: Did you see that? Why is she still so obsessed with you? You left
her for me, I wish she'd just get over it.

Katherine didn't notice that Stefan was a million miles away. His mind drifted
to what seemed ages ago. His wedding day to Barbara Jean. Then the flashback
completed.

Katherine: Stefan?

Stefan: Sorry, my mind drifted for moment. You were saying?

Katherine: Nothing important. I'll see you around, Stefan.

Stefan: Bye.

Katherine left and Stefan headed for his office. He wondered why he had been
thinking about his marriage to Bobbie so much lately. Ever since he found out
they were still married, all that came up were those memories. Stefan went to
his office and threw himself into his work. One more week, and their marriage
would be over.

Alexis was at the desk picking up her messages when she saw Ned.

Ned: Ah ha, I thought I'd find you here.

Alexis: Hello Ned. I'd like to talk, but I have to take care of something.

Ned: What's going on?

Alexis: What do you mean?

Ned: You've been blowing me off for weeks, ever since you cancelled dinner at
your place. Tell me, Alexis, did I do something wrong?

Alexis: No, you didn't do anything at all. It's just that things have been so
hectic lately, I haven't been able to talk to you.

Ned: Like what?

Alexis: Well, my father, who I haven't seen in a while, is visiting.

Ned: You're father? Well, I'd love to meet him.

Alexis: Meet him, my father, uh...

Ned: Maybe we could all have dinner. Tomorrow night maybe?

Alexis thought for a moment.

Alexis: I'll check with him, see if we can arrange something.

Ned: Well, all I ask is that you try.

Ned kisses Alexis.

Ned: Goodbye.

Alexis: *smiling* Bye.

When Ned left, her smile faded a little. Ned and her father? Dinner? She knew
she couldn't avoid it forever, but she'd sure as hell try.
