Chapter 33: A Merry Little Christmas...
Jerry stood on the patio, his parents went to bed early but he was wide-awake.
He looked at the stars wondering if V was looking at them as well. He didn't
know what it was but he felt like part of himself was missing. Ever since he
met V he had this attraction to her. It was something he had never felt before.
At first he just found her intriguing but ever since they danced two months ago
on Halloween Night he realized he loved her.

Venus held her 8 month old nephew, Manny, in her lap while her sister-in-law
Patty helped Brad (who married Patty) and their brother Lenny (Brad and Venus'
brother of course) clean up. Venus thought Manny looked a lot like her brother.
Then Patty came out of the kitchen and took Manny back.
Patty: Thank you for watching him.
Venus: It was no problem.
Patty: So, how long before you have children of your own?
Venus: Well, Patty, I'm not sure I really want children now. Maybe someday.
Patty: Oh… Have you met anybody yet?
Venus: No, I haven't.
Although Venus felt like she was lying. All she could think about was Jerry,
but she couldn't even consider going out with him. She knows he deals with
illegal stuff, but that didn't stop her from wanting him.
Patty: Come on, there must be someone.
While Venus was thinking about her relationship with Jerry, she also took that
moment to notice Patty was a really annoying person. Then Manny started to cry.
Patty: Oh, excuse me he needs to be changed.
Venus then took the time to note that Manny was a lifesaver. Next year she
should get him something bigger then a stuffed animal. Venus stood up and walked
over to the beautifully decorated tree. She looked at all the ornaments and
spotted the new ornament that was for Manny. It was a teddy bear with a Santa
hat on it. She continued to look at the other ornaments and saw hers. It was a
little elf wearing purple. Then she kept looking and saw an angel holding a
horn, which represented her mother. Venus started to feel sad. Her mother died
when she was two and she couldn't remember her.

Sonny and Brenda returned home after spending some time at Mike's. The
Scanlon's, Henry, Sally and Jason were there. They were both very tired out.
Sonny went over to the liqueur cabinet and pulled out some cognac.
Sonny: Would you like a drink?
Brenda: No, I can't.
That stuck Sonny as a little odd. If she just didn't want it, fine, but can't?
Sonny: You can't?
Brenda: Sonny, there's something I have to tell you.
Sonny: *worried* What is it?
Brenda took Sonny's hand and led him over to the couch.
Brenda: Honey, this is going to be pretty big news.
Sonny: There's nothing wrong, is there?
Brenda: No, no everything's okay.
Sonny: Well what is it?
Brenda: Sonny, I'm pregnant.
Sonny was very surprised.
Sonny: What?
Brenda: I'm pregnant?
Sonny: How long have you known.
Brenda: A couple of weeks. You see, I took a pregnancy test on Thanksgiving and
it turned out positive. I was going to see a doctor to confirm it, but then…
Sonny: But then Ned hit me with his car.
Brenda: Right. You're not disappointed are you honey?
Sonny: No, no. *smiles* This is great news!
Brenda was overjoyed that he was happy about this and they hugged. Then Sonny
broke away.
Sonny: How far along are you?
Brenda: Four months. I'll be due in May.
Sonny: In five months.
Brenda: You're sure your okay with this?
Sonny: Yes. I'm going to be a father.
Sonny and Brenda hugged again.

Jax looked over at Janice Peterson who was lying in bed asleep. Jax remembered
how on Halloween Venus set the two up on a date at the last second. He would
just go on the date so Venus would get off his back about not dating and not
being over Brenda even though he really wasn't. But strangely Janice got stuck
in his head and they sort of went out a couple of more times until Jax just
wanted her to be near and he didn't really think of Brenda as anything more than
a friend. Jax walked down the living room in his bathrobe and headed to the
kitchen when he noticed Jerry on the patio wearing a T-shirt and slacks. Jax
went out to join him.
Jax: A T-shirt and jeans in this weather? You must be crazy.
Jerry turned to face his brother.
Jerry: Of course I'm crazy.
Jax: So what are you so deep in thought about?
Jerry: V.
Jax frowned. He was afraid this would happen.
Jax: V?
Jerry: Yes.
Jax: Do you think you love her?
Jerry: I know I do.
Jax: Right, that's what you've said about every other woman you've gone out
with.
Jerry: But this is different.
Jax: Jerry, I'll just tell you this now. Don't hurt V.
Jerry: I don't plan to.
Jax: Jerry, I'm serious. If you hurt her… we are no longer brothers.
Jerry: What is this? Do you love her or something?
Jax: No, I care for her, she's like a sister to me and I don't want to see you
harm her in any way.
Jerry: She's probably not even interested in me anyway. I love her and I won't
do anything bad to her. Now, goodnight.
Jerry walked back into the house and went to the stairs.
Jax: Just remember what I said.
Jerry continued walking up the stairs to his room. He was pissed.

Carly wrapped herself in a blanket and sat on the couch, crying. Tony had gone
off somewhere and didn't even bother to tell her where. All she could do was
cry. Then she heard a knock on the door and opened it up to see AJ.
Carly: AJ, what are you going here?
AJ: I saw Tony at the hospital earlier and figured you were probably alone. I
came to see how you were.
Carly: I didn't know you still cared.
AJ: Of course I do.
Carly: I didn't tell you about the night we slept together, I didn't tell you
about the fact I was pregnant.
AJ: Carly, it's okay. I just came to see how you were.
Carly: I'm fine.
AJ: Then why have you been crying?
Carly didn't want to answer. What could she tell him? Tony hated her? Some old
neighbor of hers could somehow lead Tony to the truth? That the old neighbor's
son knows that she's lying about her identity?
AJ: Why are you with him when it just makes your resort to lying to him? When
you two just hurt each other?
Carly: Because I love him.
AJ: Carly, what you and Tony have isn't love.
Carly: Your also forgetting that I'm carrying his child.
AJ: You are due in less then a month and he has done nothing but be a jerk ever
since he found out you and I slept with each other on one stupid night. It
wasn't like you two were still going out with each other anyway, at the time.
Carly: But it still hurt him.
AJ: Look, I have to go to the mansion, take care of something. Are you going to
be all right?
Carly: AJ, I'm going to be fine.
AJ: Okay. Bye.
AJ left Carly's apartment and she felt alone again. Now even more depressed.
Then she looked over at the phone. How could she do this to her mother? It was
Christmas. Carly walked over to the phone and punched in the number.
Ring… Ring… Ring…
Virginia: Hello?
Carly: Hello, Mom.
Virginia: Caroline!?

Sarah looked at the clock and saw it was starting to get late. She decided she
better turn in so she could get up in time to open presents with Lizzie, Gram,
Simone and Tommy (yes, Simone and Tommy. No Asian Quarter in THIS story!). Tom
was going to arrive sometime in January to make up for Christmas. She only
wished her brother could be there. Then she there was a knock on the door. She
went over and opened it.
Sarah: Steve!
Steve: Hey Sis.
Sarah jumped into his arms and hugged him.
Sarah: I missed you.
Steve: I missed you too.
They broke from their hug and then there was someone coming down the steps.
Audrey: What's going on… *sees Steve* Steve, your here.
Steve: Hey Gramma (wow, he can say the whole word)!
Lizzie hears noise downstairs and gets out of bed. She sees Steve in the living
room.
Lizzie: Steve! I thought you weren't going to be here.
Lizzie ran down the steps.
Sarah: Yeah, aren't you supposed to be at Collage?
Steve: I was able to get time off from work and decided I might as well come and
visit.
Steve hugs his little sister Lizzie and they are all excited about the fact that
he's there for Christmas.

It was about time to go to bed at the Ardanowski house. The kids were getting
sleepy and V was getting tired. Her father was pretty tired himself.
Father: Time for me to go to bed.
Patty: Shouldn't we sing a carol or something?
Lenny: Like what?
Brad: Twelve Days of Christmas?
Everyone: No!
Venus: It's too long.
Father: Well, we could sing Silent Night
Everyone nodded in agreement.
