Chapter 39: Bobbie's Daughter
Stefan saw Bobbie standing outside the baby's window, watching him fight for his
life. The she noticed Stefan.
Bobbie: Hello, Stefan.
Stefan: Hello, Barbara.
Bobbie: Look at him, fighting for his life. This just isn't right.
Stefan: How is the child's mother.
Bobbie: Carly? They're still working on her. At first they were going to give
her a hysterectomy, but thank God they decided on another approach.
Stefan: How do you feel?
Bobbie was a little confused by the question, but it was something she was
wondering herself.
Bobbie: I feel bad that Carly has to go through this and I hope the baby lives.
I have this strange feeling that were somehow connected but I don't see how.
Stefan: Is Carly going to live?
Bobbie: I don't know. She may need blood from a relative but we can't track
anyone down.
Stefan: Barbara, I have to tell you something, something you should have been
told a long time ago.
Bobbie: What is it?
Stefan: I am going to tell you something that is going to be very upsetting, but
you need to know. I could never forgive myself if…
Bobbie: What?
Stefan: Barbara, Carly is your daughter. She is Caroline Benson.
Bobbie stood there with an expression of shock on her face.

Luke was nearing Bobbie's whereabouts, when Lucky came to him.
Lucky: Dad, I wanted to talk to you about something.
Luke: Could this wait, cowboy, I have something pretty important to-
Lucky: Is Carly Bobbie's daughter?
Luke: What? Why are you asking a question like that?
Lucky: Lizzie was talking to me about when Carly collapsed… Henry called her
"Caroline". That was the name of Bobbie's daughter.
Luke: Why would you think that would make her Bobbie's daughter?
Lucky: When I first heard about what Henry said, I started thinking about
everything you told me about aunt Bobbie's daughter, although I didn't know why.
Then I started to remember Henry telling me places where he lived, and it
happens that one of the states he lived was the same one as Caroline's. Then I
started to think about Bobbie making complaints about how Carly would throw
Caroline's death in her face every chance she got. Not to mention you and Carly
have always had this weird relationship. You seemed to have this weird hold over
her. Everything just kind of pieced itself together. So tell me, Dad, is Carly
aunt Bobbie's daughter?
Luke: You're going to find out sooner or later anyway… yes, she is.
Lucky: Why did you lie?
Luke: I'd love to go over all this, cowboy, but I have to talk to Bobbie.
Luke left Lucky alone.

Bobbie: What do you mean Carly is my daughter?
Stefan: A year ago, I had Luke followed when he went to visit Virginia Benson.
I tried to get as much information as I could on Virginia Benson. I learned she
was your daughter's adoptive mother and then I had some pictures faxed over to
me. When I saw Caroline I instantly recognized her as Carly Roberts.
Bobbie: No… You're lying! Carly can not be my daughter!
Luke walks in to hear her last remark.
Bobbie: Luke, Caroline is dead, right?
Luke: Sweetheart…
Bobbie: Just tell me! Tell me Carly is not my daughter and that you didn't lie
to me about something like that.
Luke: I'm sorry, but it's true.
Bobbie: What?
Luke: I lied to protect you, Barbara Jean. When I found out, you had found out
about Tony and Carly's affair and I couldn't hurt you anymore.
Bobbie: How do you think I feel now, you bastard! How dare you keep this from
me!
Bobbie looked to Luke and Stefan.
Bobbie: I want both of you to stay the hell away from me!
Bobbie walked away, Luke tried to stop her but she only pushed him away.
Bobbie: Get away from me!
Bobbie stormed out of the station. Bobbie couldn't believe it. This couldn't
be real, it was all just some room. Eventually she found herself outside
Carly's room. Bobbie peaked inside and saw her lying there peacefully.
Bobbie: My daughter…
