Chapter 53: Meanwhile…
Henry woke up and found himself in a hospital bed. He wondered what the heck he
was doing there. Last thing he remembered was wandering around some big house
and when he got outside… Sonny was there. He put him in a car and left him with
a bodyguard. Everything else was so vague. The door opened and Tony walked in.
Tony: Good morning, Henry, how are you doing?
Henry: Tony? What's going on here?
Tony: You were brought into the hospital last night. There was some pressure
building up around your brain and you had to be operated on right away…
Henry: You're my doctor? What cruel twist of fate is that?
Henry was raising his head, but felt an intense pain.
Tony: Well, gee, your welcome.
Henry: Okay… so how the hell did I end up here?
Tony: Your mother should probably tell you, when she gets here.
Henry: All right, fine… how's Caroline?
Tony was stumped for a second, but then he remembered… he was talking about
Carly.
Henry: Well? How is she and the baby?
Tony: The baby died.
Henry: Oh my God… what about her?
Tony: She's healthy, that's all I can say. I haven't seen her since she left,
though.
Henry wondered what Caroline could be going through right now. Then Henry
looked at Tony.
Henry: I'm sorry.
Tony: Right, well, tell me how you are doing…

Virginia had gone out to get her some food and Carly was stuck in the apartment
by herself. She was waiting for Jason to come back. He had told her that he
was taking care of business for Sonny and it might be a few hours. There was a
knock on the door and Carly jumped up. Maybe Jason was early? She opened the
door and there stood good old Uncle Luke.
Carly: What are you doing here?
Luke: What, can't your Uncle Luke stop by and see how you're doin?
Carly: Luke, I just lost my baby, I lost my fiancé…
Luke: From what I heard you didn't want him anymore.
Carly: Well, Luke, who could blame me for being angry? I mean, he treated me
like dirt, then I find out he plans to rip my child from me… well, looks like it
was all for nothing.
Luke entered. Carly shrugged and closed the door. She just wanted to get this
over with.
Luke: So, you know what you're gonna do?
Carly: Well, I have a nice little cocoon I created for myself here, but I doubt
it'll last long… soon, I'm gonna have to face Bobbie… and Tony… and the rest of
Port Charles.
Luke: Well, don't worry little lady, I'm sure you'll be back on your feet in no
time.
There was another knock at the door.
Carly: Who is it now?
Carly opened to door and was a little surprised to see that it was Bobbie.
Carly: Bobbie.
Bobbie: Hello, Caroline. Can we talk?
Carly nodded and Bobbie entered. Bobbie looked at Luke.
Bobbie: Oh look… you're here.
Luke: Barbara Jean, I told you why I did what I did…
Bobbie: And you should have told me about my daughter a long time ago. Leave now
Luke, I need to talk to her.
Luke left, leaving Carly and Bobbie alone.

Gina walked out of Kelly's, needing some fresh air. It was getting rather
stuffy on the inside. She looked over and saw Steve Webber walking up to her.
Steve: Hello… It's Gina, right?
Gina smiled.
Gina: Right. We met at that New Years Party.
Steve: Yeah.
Gina: How's your sister doing?
Steve: She's at the police station being questioned with that Cassadine kid… I
can't believe he dragged Lizzie into that whole situation.
Gina: Steve, I know Nikolas… he didn't push her to do anything.
Steve: (sighs) I know, you're right. It was probably her idea to head to that
mansion. I just wish Nikolas had refused to take her there… Hey, listen, Gina,
I wanted to ask a question…
Gina: What?
Steve: Well, I was wondering… would you like to go out sometime?
Gina was a little surprised by the question.
Gina: Well, I don't know…
Steve: Oh, you probably got someone else.
Well, that definitely wasn't true. Nikolas was stuck with Sarah, and even if he
weren't… Nikolas liked having her as a friend, why jeopardize the relationship?
Gina: No, I don't have anyone else…
Steve: Well, then. Why not?
Steve smiled at her.
Gina: Well… all right. Sure, I would love to go out with you.
Steve: Good… want to get something to eat, here?
Gina: Why not?
Steve and Gina went into Kelly's together.
