Chapter Four

Luke only knew of one person who could help him get Lucky back that he trusted.
Luke kissed Laura good bye and told her to keep the doors locked at all times.
He would be back in about an hour or so. Luke drove to Jason's Apartment to
talk to Jason. Luke didn't knock he just walked right in. Jason was holding
baby Michael and the sight of father and son almost broke his heart. The pull
toward Lucky was getting stronger.

"I need you to contact Sonny. I have a problem and he is the only one who will
understand how to help," Luke said.

"Luke. I don't know…" Jason started to say but Luke cut him off.

"Kid listen to me good. I don't have the time or the energy to argue with you. I
need to talk to Sonny now. So, Call him," Luke ordered.

Jason took one look at Luke and realized that something was really wrong and
relented. Sonny did tell him if Luke or anyone really needed him all he had to
do was call. Jason put Michael down in his playpen and went to call Sonny. Luke
looked at Michael playing in the playpen fighting the memories and nightmares of
his old life. He prayed that Lucky wasn't going threw the same things.

Sonny was sitting on his deck watching one of his many lady friends swimming in
the pool not more then a few feet away. He missed his old life but this one
wasn't too bad. Sonny thought as the blond took anther lap. Sonny answered his
private phone and said, "What's wrong? Jason."

"Luke said he needs your help and he doesn't look good…" Jason started to say
but Luke pulled the phone out of his hands.

"Sonny. My father took Lucky. I need your help to get him back." Luke said into
the phone.

Sonny jumped out of the chair and said, "I'm on my way. Do you have any idea
where he is?" Sonny asked worried about the kid. He knew from what little Luke
told him that his old man made Deke look like the father of the year. Luke told
him of Will's phone call. Sonny thought for a long moment and said, "Tell Jason
to get a plane with you and him on it to Mimi now. I'll meet you at the airstrip
we use all the time and don't worry we will get your kid back." Sonny hung up
and went to get rid of his beauty. He didn't want to waste anytime.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Luke watched just outside the house just before sundown. He couldn't believe his
old man owned a place that nice. It was a small two-story house located in a
very nice and quite neighborhood. He was wondering what had kept Lucky here for
this long. Sonny joined him and said, "Any sign of the old man or Lucky?"
"No. But the kid on the phone said the old man would be away," Luke said.
Suddenly, two kids came walking out the back door. Luke's heart stopped when he
saw his son for the first time in two months. Lucky had lost something but Luke
couldn't figure it out from where he was hiding.
Lucky and Will were putting the trash in the cans outback. Will picked up a ball
and said, "How about throwing it around for awhile? Dad will be gone all night
and Tony is asleep in the chair."
"Sure. Why not." Lucky said trying to figure out where his father was. Luke
should have arrived by now. Lucky feared he had finally decided to walk away
from him for good. The boy's started to throw the ball back and forth. Lucky
threw it too hard and it landed in the bushes behind the house. He walked up
beside Will and said, "I'll help you look."
The walked to the bushes and before they could go inside two men reached out and
grabbed them. Jason held his hand over Lucky's mouth to keep him from screaming.
Luke rushed to his son and said, "Cowboy, it is all right. Your safe now."
Jason let go of Lucky and moved back a little. Lucky looked at his father and
couldn't believe he was actually there. "Dad?" Came Lucky's soft question.
Luke nodded his head and pulled Lucky into his embrace. Luke held him and let
him cry out the pain and emotions he had kept bottled up for the past months.
"It is all right son. I'm not going to let him hurt you ever again."
Lucky suddenly heard Will's muffled cries. He looked over to his uncle and said,
"Don't hurt him. He is my uncle." Lucky said to Sonny and to Will. "Will, it is
all right. We are safe now." Luke and the others looked at Lucky as if he lost
his mind. "Dad. I would like you to meet your little brother. William Lucas
Spencer.
Before Luke could reply Sonny spoke up. "I hate to interrupt but we have to get
out of here," He said letting go of Will's mouth and heading to the car hidden
not to far away.
Know one said anything until they were heading back to Port Charles. Lucky and
Will were both fighting the fear that Luke's looks were causing them. Luke sat
beside his son on the plane gently running his hand over the bruise on Lucky's
face. "Did he hit you?" Luke asked dreading the answer.
"He didn't hit me." Lucky said flatly. "He beat me."
Luke just pulled him close and held him. He looked at Will and said, "So, you’re
my little brother. I will promise you the same thing as Lucky. I will never let
that man near either of you again." Luke patted the seat next to him and Will
walked over to sit beside him. Luke was in the middle, comforting two very
frighten boys. He wanted to kill his father right at that moment but the kids’
safety came first.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Luke had fallen asleep and the dreams hit him with a vengeance. He hadn't had
nightmares since he met Laura. The dream was always the same. He was in the
house in Florida and no one was around but him. He was a kid again with same
fears and weaknesses. He was walking threw the house yelling for Bobbie and his
mother. They weren't anywhere to be found. He opened door after door. Luke
reached the last door and it wouldn't open. He heard them screaming for help on
the other side but he tried everything to get it to open but it wouldn't. When
it did open and his father walked out drunk and mean looking. Luke tired to get
by him but his old man grabbed him and shoved him down the hall. Luke couldn't
get free and his father just laughed at him and started to swing. The seconded
the first blow hit Luke sat up covered in sweat and found Sonny looking at him
with a worried look on his face.

"Luke are you all right?" Sonny asked his friend.

Luke looked at the sleeping boys and said, "Yes, partner. I'm fine now that I
have my family back together."

Sonny wasn't sure he believed Luke but he dropped the subject. He understood
better then anyone what the memories of the past could do today. "We are landing
soon," Sonny said.

"Thanks but I think I’ll let them sleep until we land," Luke said looking the
boys over again. The dark bruises were very relevant. He hated to see what the
rest of them looked like underneath the cloths they wore.

~~~~~~~~~~
Lucky didn't wait for the others, he rushed in the house and right into Laura's
open arms. She held on to him for dear life and didn't let go. "My baby," she
kept on saying over and over again. Lucky just held on for dear life. He wanted
her to wipe away the memories of the past two mouths and make everything better.
Luke walked into the house and waited until they parted before introducing Will
to Laura. "Angel. This is my brother Will and he is going stay with us for a
while," Luke said.
Laura took one look at Will and her heart broke. She opened her arms to him and
said. "Come here. I am glad to open my home to a member of my husbands family."
Will hesitated but then walked into her open arms and she comforted him as she
did Lucky. He realized that Lucky was right. His parents were the best things in
the world.
