Part 15: It Begins…
Veronica looked at her daughter, not quite sure what to tell her.
Veronica: It's a long story, I don't know where to begin…
Brenda: How about the part where you left me?
Veronica: Brenda, just stop… I never meant to hurt you.
Brenda started crying, but she wasn't sobbing. She just kept standing up,
refusing to lose it.
Brenda: Never meant to hurt me? Hmm… Well, guess what mother, you DID hurt me,
whether you meant to or not.
They were both crying now.
Veronica: I am so sorry, dear, but if you could please listen-
Brenda: Don't call me dear! Don't dare try to act like my mother, because it is
far too late to take that title after you gave it up without a second thought…
Veronica: Do you really think it was that easy?!
Veronica wiped some tears from her eyes.
Veronica: It wasn't Brenda. At the time, it was the only choice I had, and I'm
sorry. Just please, here me out.
Brenda shut her eyes and thought about it for a moment. She finally made a
decision. She opened her eyes and looked her mother right in the eyes.
Brenda: All right… come in, but I'm only giving you five minutes.
Veronica nodded her head, excepting it. She followed Brenda inside and the door
was slammed shut.

Luke and Venus sat in a first class jet heading for Greece. They had left a
couple of hours ago. Luke was still worried about Laura, even though the doctor
said she was going to be fine. He wished he hadn't left, but he knew that if he
was going to go to Greece, he was going to do it now.
Luke: So, how did Jer get you to agree to this?
Venus looked at Luke, startled. She had been so deep in thought, she forgot Luke
was even there.
Venus: Well, he just mentioned he was going to ask you to do this and I
volunteered to help.
Luke: Oh…
There was a period of silence. There wasn't much to talk about between them.
Luke took a cigar out of his coat pocket and was about to light it up, when
Venus interrupted.
Venus: Sir, do you have to light that up?
Luke: What, you don't like cigars?
Venus: Well… no. I mean, do you have any idea what they do to your lungs? And
then there's second-hand smoke, which is worse then just taking it yourself, so
when you smoke, you're endangering my health…
Luke just looked at her, unlit cigar in his mouth.
Venus: What?

Emily was sitting at the side of Xavior's bed, Helena was still behind the door
listening to every word. They were laughing, having a fun conversation, and
Helena was hating it.
Emily: Well, I better get going.
Xavior: *disappointed* Oh… well, it was pleasant speaking with you.
Emily: Yeah, you too.
Xavior: Will you come again?
Emily looked at Xavior, looking like the question was a gun pointing at her… she
was thinking about Nikolas… he would not like the conversation she had just had
with Xavior, but then again, she thought Xavior needed a friend. Also, she was
the one responsible for him being like this.
Emily: Sure, maybe. We'll see.
Xavior: All right… goodbye.
Emily: Bye.
Emily went out the door, which Helena had already fled from. Helena was watching
from nearby, though. She watched Emily walk away, smiling.
Helena: The little whore is no better then Laura Spencer… looks like I'm going
to have to teach my grandson a lesson in love.
Helena smiled wickedly to herself, as a sinister plan formed in her mind. To
her, it seemed to be the perfect plan. All she needed was to set it up. She saw
Donald heading her way.
Donald: How is Xavior doing?
Helena: Fine… Donald, I need you to do something for me…
Donald already had shivers down his spine. He realized this was not going to be
good.

Veronica stood while Brenda just sat in her chair. Her daughter was just
watching her, waiting to hear what she was going to say, assuming it was going
to be a lame excuse.
Veronica: Brenda, what I am about to tell you could put your life in danger, but
you need to know.
Brenda: What is it?
Veronica: Well, it all started with… well… I guess when my sister and I were in
Europe…
