Chapter 2:

Liz looked out her apartment window and saw Marie’s car parked in the parking
lot. Soon, she heard a knock at the door. Liz went to the door and answered it.
She smiles as she sees my two children, Marty and Teresa, run and grab onto my
leg. They both start to laugh.

“Thank you Marie” she smiled.

“You’re welcome Lizzie.” Marie said. “Come here.” She motions for Liz to come
closer. She gives her a comforting hug and cries. “You’re going to be okay.” she
said.

Liz pulled away and noticed that her face was wet with tears. “Thank you Marie.”
she sighed. “Say ‘hi’ to Nikolas for me okay?”

Marie started to walk out, “I will, remember we’re going to help you no matter
what, bye Liz.”

Liz closed the door and turned around to see Marty coloring in his coloring
book, and Teresa playing with her blocks.

“Marty, come here.” she kneeled down and brought out her arms.

Marty ran right into her arms. Liz, picked him up and started to tickle him. He
laughed and squirmed. She looked at Marty and thought about how much he looks
like Lucky. Those same piercing blue eyes.

Liz got up from the floor and went over to the kitchen to fix dinner. “What do
you guys want to eat?” she asked.

Teresa got up and said, “I want macaroni and cheese!”

“I want Peanut butter sandwich.” Marty smiled.

“Okay, why don’t we have both peanut butter sandwiches and macaroni and cheese.”
Liz said playfully.

“That sounds good.” Teresa laughed.

“Yea!” Marty started to dance.

Liz prepared their meal, and saw as Marty was sitting on top of the table.
“Martin Steven Webber! Please sit properly in the chair.” she ordered.

Marty, without complaining, got up and sat properly in the chair. Liz brought
over the sandwiches and macaroni and placed it in the center of the table.

“Let’s say ‘Grace”' She said, as she started to sit down in a chair, bowing her
head down.

“I want to do it!” Teresa volunteered.

“Alright, go ahead.” Liz smiled.

After Teresa said her prayer, they passed around the food. As Liz grabbed for
the macaroni, she sees Marty stuffing his face.

“Pig boy!” Teresa teased.

“Am not!” Marty replied.

After dinner, they all went to the couch to watch a little bit of television.
Liz glanced at her watch and noticed it was almost eight. She looked at Teresa
and Marty, then shut off the television.

“I’m not sleepy.” Marty yawned, getting up to go change.

“Sure, you aren’t.” Liz muffled his hair as he walked away. “Go brush your
teeth.”

“I will mommy.” He replied from the bathroom.

Liz looked at Teresa, who started to pick up her blocks. “Teresa, I’ll pick that
up, you go to bed.”

Teresa looked up at Liz and ran to her. Liz reached down and picked her up, with
her hands resting on her shoulders.

“Goodnight mommy.” She smiled, giving her a kiss.

“Goodnight sweetie, remember, your real mommy is watching over us.” Liz replied.

“Yeah, she’s with God in the sky.” Teresa pointed to the window. “With daddy…”

Liz felt heartbreak, as she saw Teresa looking out the window. She didn’t have a
mother or a father. She lost them both. She lost Sarah in the fire, and Paul
from Cancer. Liz was glad that she was her mother now.

“Okay, you have to get to bed.” Liz kissed her on the forehead and placed her
down on the floor. She watched as Teresa ran toward the bathroom. Just then,
Marty comes from the bathroom already in his pajamas.

“You going to read a bedtime story?” he asked.

“Of course.” Liz smiled. She walked over to the closet and changed into her
Mickey Mouse shirt, and matching boxers. She walked over to the bed and noticed
that Marty and Teresa were all tucked in and ready to go.

Liz got in between them and picked out the book for the night. “’Green Eggs and
Ham’.” Liz laughed.

“Yuck!” Teresa stuck out her tongue.

“You don’t know until you try.” Liz raised an eyebrow.

“Mommy, can you make green eggs and ham?” Marty asked

“Of course I can.” She gave a smile. “I can assure you its really yummy.”

As Liz started to read, Marty stopped her. “You’re the coolest mommy in the
world!” he gave her a hug, and rested his head on her shoulder.

“Yeah.” Teresa agreed. Liz looked to both Marty and Teresa and gave them a huge
hug. After Liz hugged them, they both rested their heads onto her shoulders, so
that they can see the pictures as she read.
