Chapter 3
Hours after her party ended Robin arrived at Luke's club. Ever since John showed
her, her Grandfather's ring it has been on her mind. When she arrived at the
club she looked around. She saw John sitting at a table. She came up to him and
gave him a kiss on the cheek. She sat down at the table.
Robin: Whets going on Uncle John?
John: You know Robin.
Robin: I thought that I would be allowed to decline. You promised me that I
would not have to head the organization.
John: I know Robin. But you are the only one that the family will accept. The
family is divided Robin. They were loyal to your grandfather and will follow you
as his granddaughter. But If I put one of them in control the others will fight
and will destroy each other. We are the last of the Devanne's Robin. I will not
let destroy our family’s hard work.
Robin: I know that Uncle John. But you are asking me to step into a world that I
hate. I left for Paris because I didn't want to see Jason in that world and now
you are asking me to join it. What about you? You have been my regent since
grandpa died and mom refused to take over. Can't you just take over completely?
John: I can't Robin. There is something I didn't tell you when we were in Paris.
I have cancer and am dying. I have six months to live and I want to spend my
time with Diana.
Robin hugs John.
Robin: I am so sorry Uncle John.
John: So I can't take over. You and Diana are the only people who I know. But
the secret will soon come out. If you don't take over then when they learn about
me a War will start. Please Robin, take your rightful place as head of the
Thatcher organization.
Robin: I don't know. I have no knowledge in how to do it. And by doing this I
put myself in the line of fire. I have no training in this. Unlike you I never
went though the ranks. How can these people accept me?
John: You will be well guarded Robin. And you can do this Robin. You have it
inside you Robin. I need an answer Robin. Will you take your place as head of
the organization?
Robin gets up from her chair. She extends her arm toward him. John takes the
ring and puts it on her finger. He then bows before her and gives her a kiss on
both cheeks.
