Chapter Two

Luke sat on a beach in the Carolina's, talking to Lulu and trying to calm her
down. He regretted what he did. Luke doesn't even remember half the things he
said or did up until the time Sonny and he drove away in the car. Luke rocked
his daughter back and forth. His voice was soft and calm, but inside he was
still ready to blow. "Lu! Baby, I'm sorry. Daddy isn't mad at you but mommy. I
just didn't think you would safe at the house and Lucky wants to see you," Luke
pleaded.

"Lucky?" Lu said threw her tears.

"Yeah, Lucky. He misses his little sister and I miss you too, baby. Don't you
want to stay with me for a while?" Luke asked.

"OK. When is mommy coming home?" Lu asked.

"I don't know but we will see," Luke said and kissed her on the cheek. Luke,
Sonny, and Lu headed to the airport. On the plane back to Port Charles, Lu feel
asleep and Luke and Sonny talked. "I feel like a heel," Luke said.

"Pointing a gun at Laura or what?" Sonny asked.

"I should have never let Lu know what was going on. Sonny, I only remember
coming home late this morning. The rest is a blur to me," Luke said honestly.

"You're lucky that Bobbie called me. You were going to kill them. Luke, I know
you're upset but Lu was in the house," Sonny said.

"I know that and I regret it. I am really thankful you stopped me. Sonny, she
slept with Stefan and from what the letters say, they have been lovers for a
long time, now. I don't know what to think about her anymore. I thought I knew
Laura better than I knew myself and I guess I was wrong on both counts. I do
know one thing. I am not going to let her near my children again," Luke said
coldly.

Sonny shook his head. He didn't like what Laura did. If she had it in fact slept
with Cassadine, but keeping her away from her kids was wrong, too. Sonny hoped
that Luke would calm down and listen to reason. They sat in silence for the rest
of the trip and Luke told Sonny to go back to Brenda and forget about his
troubles. Luke was going to take Lu back to Bobbie's house and then he was going
to blow off some steam some where. Sonny didn't want to but he trusted Luke to
be able to handle things from here on out. As the limo headed back to the
penthouse, Sonny's mind drifted back to the time him and Brenda broke up because
of trust and hoped this was just a bump in the road for the Spencers because to
Sonny the two people that belong together were Luke and Laura.

***********************************************

Luke walked into the apartment carrying Lu in one hand and her bag in the other.
Lucky was sitting at the table trying to eat. Or attempting to, at least. Bobbie
was cleaning up. They both dropped what they were doing and ran to him. Lu
jumped from her father's arms to Lucky's. He held his sister close and rocked
her in his arms. "I will be back later and then we will talk," Luke said and
then left again.

Bobbie looked up to the ceiling and said, "I hate that man."

"Lucky? What is going on?" Lu asked.

"I don't know, baby. Mom and Dad are having troubles right now. We just have to
let them try and figure things out. I'm glad you’re with me. I don't feel so
alone any more," Lucky said and took her to the table. They ate his supper
together and then Lucky played with his sister. Finally, Bobbie got both of them
to go to sleep and she fell asleep on the couch. She waited up for Luke all
night but there was no sign of him.

The next day, Bobbie took Lucas and Lu up to Felicia's house. Lucky spent the
day in the kitchen trying to work on his homework. He didn't feel like doing
anything but at least it kept his mind busy. Bobbie cleaned the house and waited
for Luke. She had a few things to tell her brother and none of them were good.
Lucky started to doze at the table by suppertime. He didn't sleep too well the
night before and so Bobbie ordered him to go to bed. She had just closed the
door on the guestroom when Luke walked in. "Well, you decided to show your
face," Bobbie said coldly.

"Not now, Bobbie." Luke said dropping on the couch.

"Now! I don't believe you. You first burnt your house down," Bobbie started in
counting down what he did on her fingers. "Then you dump Lucky on my door step
without a word. You go to the Carolinas and from what I got from Sonny, you were
lucky he showed up. You take Lu and drag her back here and abandon her as you
did Lucky. I spent the last few days trying to calm them down. Lu is crying all
the time and Lucky walks around here as if he doesn't know what to do with
himself. Luke, what in hell were you thinking?" Bobbie demanded.

"ENOUGH!" Luke yelled. "I just spent the last few days trying to figure out
where in hell I messed up. For over sixteen years, my wife was cheating on me
with my worst enemy. Yes, I could have killed them. I still want to but I know
that isn't going to help my kids. Hell, I don't even know if Lu is mine or not.
I just came from talking to Justice. He is going to file for my divorce
tomorrow. Plus, I ran into Taggert and he took me down town. I didn't want to
call and worry you . I spent the night in jail until Justice got me out," Luke
yelled.

They were about to argue more but Luke caught sight of Lucky and his eyes told
the entire story. They were filled with pain and confusion. "Lucky?" Luke said
but Lucky bolted from the house and ran.

He kept on running until his lungs hurt. He wanted to get way from the pain and
all the heartache. He thought he was the one that was responsible for all this
mess. He kept on thinking, "If I only burnt the box before he got home. My
family would still be in one piece." Lucky stopped running and walked around
town all night. He just wandered from one side of the town to the other. Luke
had everyone he could think of looking for Lucky, but they kept on missing him
one way or another. At one time Luke was on one street and Lucky the other.

Early the next morning, Nikolas was heading to pick up Sara for school. He was
walking on the docks when he and Lucky had a run in. Stefan hadn't made it back
just yet. Helena had arranged matters so that Stefan was delayed, so that her
plans had time to take affect. Lucky looked up and saw Nikolas walking toward
him. He snapped. The pain and anger took over and he charged Nikolas. Lucky hit
him at a running charge and the two hit the ground. Lucky punched and beat
Nikolas. He was angry and Nikolas was taken so off guard that he was just trying
to defend himself.

Ned and AJ were out looking for Lucky. They offered after Luke called to see if
Emily had seen him. Ned and AJ saw the fight and quickly pulled the two apart.
Nikolas held his bleeding lip and demanded. "What the hell is your problem?"

"You!" Lucky said coldly.

"That isn't anything new. I meant what did the Cassadines do to you this time?"
Nikolas said, very coldly.

"You don't know? Nikky boy, I have a news flash for you. Our mommy has been
lying to us all this time. You're not Stavros' son but Stefan's. Our mother and
Stefan have been lovers for years now. I guess daddy dearest didn't want to
claim you either," Lucky said, coldly trying to get free but Ned wasn't letting
go.

"Lucky! Stop!" Ned said. "You don't know the facts."

"I know them. I read the love letters and so did Dad. He burnt the only home I
ever had because of them. I wish the Cassadines were dead. The entire worthless
family," Lucky yelled.

"Come on." AJ said, pulling him to the car. Lucky tried to get to Nikolas one
more time but AJ wasn't going for it. He held Lucky by the neck and then walked
to Ned's car. Ned was going to try and talk to Nikolas, but he just turned
around and headed back to the island. Alexis was just leaving the island and
Nikolas ran to his cousin. Ned watched them for a few minutes. Alexis looked up
and nodded her head. Ned left and went to catch with AJ and Lucky. They drove
Lucky back to Bobbies. Ned wanted to get rid of AJ as soon as possible. AJ had
come over to see grandmother and she forced them to go looking for Lucky
together. They drove in silence to the brownstone.

Lucky got out and tried to walk away but Ned stopped him. They walked up to the
brownstone and knocked. Bobbie opened the door and quickly pulled Lucky into her
arms. "Thanks Ned. I will take it from here," Bobbie said.

Lucky went into the house while Ned and Bobbie talked. "We found him fighting
with Nikolas. Lucky dumped the entire thing on Nikolas at once," Ned said.

"Thanks again, Ned. I'll look after him," Bobbie said wondering what to say to
Lucky at all. Bobbie walked inside and found Lucky pouring water over his hands.

"Let me look at those," Bobbie said taking a hold of his hands.

"I can look after myself," Lucky said.

"I know you can but I want to help. Lucky, why did you tell Nikolas like that?"
Bobbie asked as she doctored up his hands.

"I thought he should know the truth. I mean, why should he be the only one still
in the dark?" Lucky said coldly.

"That's enough." Bobbie said. "You didn't like how you found out, so why did you
hurt Nikolas?"

"Get off my case. You don't give a damn about the way I feel like. You only care
about Nikky boy, the blood prince. Let me tell you this, Aunt Bobbie," Lucky
said sarcastically. "You can worry about the fake prince all you want but to me
his is just a Cassadine that needs to be gotten rid of."

Lucky turned and went into the other room. He refused to look at or talk to
Bobbie after that. Bobbie got a hold of Luke and the others. Luke arrived a
little while later and tried to talk to Lucky. Lucky wasn't going for it at all.
He wasn't in the mood to talk and he stayed out of sight of the others for the
rest of the day. Tuesday, Luke called the school and said Lucky wasn't going to
be there for the rest of the day. Bobbie rented Luke Simmon and Tom's old
apartment. She moved out a few weeks ago and it was ready to rent. Luke didn't
really care about anything but knew he needed a place for them to stay. He went
to deal with the problems he was having because of his little stunt of burning
down the house. Bobbie took Lu and dragged Lucky along to get furniture for the
apartment. Lucky wasn't in the mood to do anything. He just took the first
things Bobbie pointed out and left it at that. By lunchtime Bobbie was ready to
kill Lucky. She took him to Kelly's to at least give Ruby a shot at him.

Ruby smiled and kissed Lu on the cheek. When she tried to kiss Lucky, he just
turned his head away. Ruby smiled and said. "I have just the thing to cheer you
up." Ruby went into the kitchen and placed plates in front of them. Lucky played
with his food and it took a lot of arm twisting to get him to eat anything.

Luke showed up to see how things were going and the look on his sister and
aunt's faces told him everything. Lucky had walked out when Luke arrived and sat
alone out front. "Luke, you have to talk to him." Ruby said.

"I tried all night and this morning. He just isn't talking to anyone. Leave him
be. Lucky will come around when he is ready. The kid is just upset and has every
right to be at this moment." Luke said taking a stool.

"You better be right. Lucky isn't dealing with this. He is hiding from it," Ruby
said and went to get him a plate.

"She is right. Luke, maybe Lucky should talk to Gail or someone," Bobbie said.

"No. He is fine, now drop it. He did tell me you were more worried about the
count prince than him. Lucky had every right in telling the demon seed the
truth. I hope the kid leaves town and never comes back," Luke said coldly.

"Luke, it isn't Nikolas' fault," Bobbie said.

"I don't want to hear about that kid's name again. Drop it. I heard about him
from Laura and I'm not taking it from you," Luke glared at him. Lulu's bottom
lip started to tremble. Luke glared at Bobbie and then turned his attention to
Lu. "I'm sorry, baby. Daddy isn't mad at you. I just had a bad week. How about
me, you and Lucky go to the park and play for awhile?" Luke asked. Lu brightened
up and Luke grabbed a sandwich off the plate Ruby laid down. He then put Lulu on
his shoulder and walked out to get Lucky.
