-Chapter-5-"Peice of the Puzzle"
Sarah was walking through Kelly's Gas Station, a little surprised to see that it
was no longer a deli. Sarah looked through the magazines, hoping one of them
would give her a clue as to what's going on. Maybe Newsweek would have an
article about scientists testing some sort of transdimentional portal invention
or anything that could explain what was going on. When she found Newsweek, she
was shocked to see that Katherine Bell was on the cover.
Sarah grabbed the magazine and looked at the tagline "President Katherine
Stanton Finds Cure For Foreign Disease!" Sarah skimmed through the article and
found out that Katherine was raised by her loving father, Avery Stanton, in a
close family. She fought in the Gulf War as an air force fighter, solved the
JFK assassination when she was a professor at Harvard and is married to
humanitarian and all around good, unselfish guy, Bennett Devlin.
Sarah put the magazine away when she realized it wasn't going to give her any
useful information, but she was now more aware of just how weird this place
really was.
Then she noticed another magazine. It was a business magazine and the cover
story involved something called Frost Mechanics. She took it and purchased it
and left the Gas Station with it. For some nagging reason, she figured the
information inside could be useful.

Robin was twirling around in her chair, waiting to hear from Brenda when the
phone started ringing.
Robin: Hello?
Woman: Hello, Ms. Scorpio. You don't know me, but I think we can be useful to
each other.
Robin: How?
Woman: I have a use for this Frost Mechanics, the same use you want to acquire.
I will meet you tomorrow.
Robin: Why wait so long?
Woman: Long story, it will be easier to explain once I arrive.
Robin: Who is this?
The woman hung up leaving Robin confused.

Lizzie and Emily waited inside the church.
Emily: How much longer should they be?
Lizzie: I'm not sure. I just hope nothing bad happened to either of 'em.
Just then, Luke entered.
Lizzie: Luke! Did you find anything out?
Luke: No, I still don't know why we're here.
Emily: Shoot! If things don't turn back to normal soon, I'm going to go nuts!
Lizzie: Emily, relax, you're in a church.
Luke: Yeah, and apparently, I'm the priest here.
Lizzie: Huh?
Luke: There were a lot of people calling me "Father Luke" wherever I went asking
me about donations and all these religious questions. There are a lot of wackos
here. Emily, I'm glad to see you're here.
Emily: Do you know about your son?
Luke: What about my son?
Emily: He's different too.
Luke: How different?
Emily: When I ran into him he started bragging about his strait A's, except he
got one A- he's upset about.
Sarah walked in.
Sarah: Who got an A-?
Lizzie: Lucky.
Sarah: Poor kid, I know exactly how he feels.
Lizzie: Right, well I know Lucky was getting mostly B's and C's last I checked,
so yeah, he's different.
Luke: How did you know? I asked him for his report card yesterday and he said
he hadn't gotten it yet.
Lizzie paused for a moment and then looked at Sarah.
Lizzie: So, Sarah, did you find anything out?
Sarah: Katherine Bell, no, Stanton is President of the United States.
Luke: Okay, this is starting to get a little scary.
Sarah: Emily, you're normal too?
Emily: Yup.
Sarah: I picked up a business magazine, it's something about Frost Mechanics. I
don't know why I got it, I just had this nagging feeling.
Luke: Frost Mechanics?
Sarah: It involves making carbonated ice and melting it.
Luke: Hmm… Sounds a little like the old Ice Machine the Cassadines were using
when they tried to freeze the world.
Lizzie: Oh yeah, I heard about that.
Emily: You think this is related?
Sarah: If the Cassadines could invent the weather machine, I wonder what else
they could invent.
Emily: Yeah, I guess it's possible the Cassadines would create some sort of
dimensional portal, but why?
All three of them stood there, baffled.
Sarah: Oh my goodness.
They all looked at her.
Emily: What is it, Sarah?
Sarah: According to this article, Nikolas is the fiancé to V. Ardanowski of
Ardanowski Enterprises.
Lizzie: So?
Sarah: So what if he is like us? I have to find out where this V. Ardanowski
lives.
Emily: Is there anything else in that article?
Sarah: Tony Jones is V.'s partner and is married to Alexis… Nikolas' cousin.
Luke: Alexis, eh.
Emily: We should track these people down. Anyone have any ideas how?
They all thought about it, hoping to find a simple solution.
