Chapter 4
Laura had just entered the Outback holding Lu Lu's hand, when she looked up and
saw Katherine at Stefan's table. She breathed a sigh of relief as Katherine
walked away, Nikolas did not yet know their secret. She wondered how long it
would be before Katherine remembered and told him, she could only pray that she
would have the strength to tell him before it came to that. She once again
looked at their table, it was Stefan, Nikolas, Alexis and a stranger who looked
familiar. They turned as she approached, both Stefan and Nikolas stood to greet
her, and she knew that Katherine looked on in jealousy. They exchanged
greetings and then Stefan noticed her eyes resting upon Lee.
S: My daughter.
La: Hmm?
S: She's my daughter, Callisto.
La: Pleased to meet you, I'm Nikolas' mom, Laura.
Le: Yes, I've heard your name before. Please join us for dinner, I know that
Nikky would adore spending the evening with his sister.
La: I couldn't impose like that.
S: Your company is never an imposition, only a pleasure.
Lu: Please Mommy.
N: Yes please do.
La: How can I say no.
S: Easy you can't.
They all once again sat down for dinner, when suddenly Laura remembered that she
had Lu's drawing for Nikolas in the car.
L: I'll be right back.
S: It's dark out, I'll accompany you.
L: Thank you.
Once outside Laura stopped and turned to Stefan.
L: You're daughter?
S: Yes.
L: She can't be much younger than Nikolas.
S: She's not.
L: How much?
S: One day
L: That means…
S: That I slept with her mother, at the same time I was sleeping with you.
L: And you never told me.
S: You didn't want to hear it.
L: When exactly?
S: Our huge fight right before you found out you were pregnant with Nikolas.
L: You're lying.
S: No, I'm not.
L: Then how is she only one day younger?
S: Do you remember that accident that Stavros was in?
L: Yes.
S: Daphne was in the car with him, both she and Listo nearly died.
L: Daphne as in your former girlfriend and best friend.
S: Yes.
L: Why didn't you tell me?
S: I didn't know until the day you left.
L: That's why you left the island so abruptly, I thought it was because you
didn't care enough to stop me.
S(smiles): You knew that I knew about Mother's plan.
L: I assumed correctly, did I not?
S: As always, but I didn't. I was positive you would return to us.
L: Let's go back in.
S: What about the drawing?
L(smiles): Oh I must have left it at home.
S: I see.
