Lucky and Lizzie:
 Brenda's Wedding

{On the day of Brenda and Sonny’s wedding, Lucky and Bobbie enter Ruby’s and Lucky goes to the counter where Lizzie is}

Lucky:  "Wow."

Lizzie:  "Hey!"

Lucky:  "And they said it'd never last."

Lizzie:  "What?"

Lucky:  "You working the early shift."

Lizzie:  "Oh, well, it's not that hard. I just don't go to sleep the night before. Hey, is Ruby really going to that Corleone guy's wedding?"

Lucky:  "You mean Sonny Corinthos."

Lizzie:  "Yeah. She was just putting me on, right?"

Lucky:  "Well, she's going with me and my Aunt Bobbie."

Lizzie:  "You're going to the wedding?"

Lucky:  "Elizabeth, my dad and Sonny are partners."

Lizzie:  "Oh, wow." {Lucy comes in looking for Brenda and Lizzie, reading a rag magazine about the upcoming wedding, is impressed with everything going on}

Lucky: {Brenda comes into Ruby’s and comes over to Lucky}  "Big day, huh?"

Brenda:  "Hey. Yeah."

Lucky:  "Oh. This is, uh, Lizzie Webber. Mrs. Hardy's granddaughter."

Brenda:  "Great. Nice to meet you, Lizzie.  {She shakes a speechless Lizzie’s hand} Seen Ruby?"

Lucky:  {Pointing to the back}  "She's back there."

Brenda:  "Okay. {Going into the kitchen} Ruby!"

Lizzie:  "You should have said Elizabeth. Lizzie is so unsophisticated."

Lucky:  "I'm sorry, Miss Webber."  {Lizzie continues to look completely starstruck}

{Elizabeth watches as Brenda discusses the wedding with Bobbie, Lucy and Ruby. Brenda informs them that everyone has to bring their invitation to get in}

Lizzie: {After she leaves} "You know, I heard they have to go through metal detectors at the church doors."

Lucky:  "Guess I won't be packing then."

Lizzie:  "Could you cover for a minute? I'll be right back. {She walks over and first opens the door to look out and then goes to the window.  Lucky turns to watch her} There is this guy following Brenda Barrett. He looks like he's tailing her but--no, I'm sure she sees him."

Lucky:  "It’s probably her driver."

Lizzie:  "I would die for a driver."

Bobbie:  "Elizabeth! I'd die for a muffin."

Lizzie:  {Coming away from the window} "Sure." {Lucky goes to sit with Bobbie. Lizzie picks up the magazine, still thinking about Brenda and the wedding}

Bobbie:  "Hey. Are you bringing a date to the wedding?"

Lucky:  "I didn't know if I could."

Bobbie:  "I'm sure it would be okay. Is there someone?"

Lizzie:  {Quickly coming over to the table} "You know, Sarah's busy, but I'm free as a bird." {Lucky just looks at her, not too enthusiastic}

Lizzie:  "It's a church wedding with a reception afterwards, right?"

Lucky:  "Yeah."

Lizzie:  "Well then of course you're expected to bring a guest."

Lucky: {Laughing}  "How do you know?"

Lizzie:  "Well, you see, my parents' best friends in the world, they have six kids--they're all older than us. Well, they already got married in this church and had a reception afterwards. Their guests were always expected to come in pairs because one, it made the guests feel more comfortable and two, it was easier to figure out dinner prices and stuff.  {Turning to Bobbie} Isn't that right?"

Bobbie:  "Well, I don't think there are any hard and fast rules. I think I'll get my own muffin. Excuse me." {She gets up and leaves}

Lizzie: {Sitting down in Bobbie’s place} "Listen, um, I have to be over here after school, but I can get home and be ready in exactly three and a half minutes."

Lucky:  "Why are you so hot to go?"

Lizzie:  "I love weddings."

Lucky:  "It's not a freak show, Elizabeth. Like Brenda said, the people that are going are real friends, and I'm sorry but you don't know either of them. So you might as well just give it up because I'm not bringing a guest."

Lizzie:  "Big deal. And I was only trying to do you a favor because I felt sorry for you because you have to tag along with your aunts. I mean, you really thought I wanted to go as your date?"

Lucky:  "No. Actually, I thought you just wanted to get inside the church in case there was a shoot out."

Lizzie:  "Get over yourself, Spencer. {Getting up} If I wanted to rubber neck, I'd stand around like the rest of the crowd."  {She walks back to the counter}

Lucky:  "Now see, there you're wrong because you can't get near the place unless you have an invitation, and you don't."  {Lizzie picks up Ruby’s invitation on the counter and puts it back down, thinking}

Lucky:  {Lucky gets his bag to go to school and discusses last minute plans with Bobbie about the wedding. She leaves and he turns to Lizzie} "Do you want me to wait for you?"

Lizzie:  "No thanks. You'll get the idea I want to marry you."

Lucky:  "You need to relax, girl."

Lizzie:  {Not bothering to be nice} "You know what? I've got work to do."

Lucky:  {Raising his eyebrows, realizing she’s not pleased, he says quietly} "See ya." {Lucky leaves and seeing that no one is around, she takes Ruby’s invitation and slips it into her pocket}

Lizzie:  {At the entrance to the church, Lizzie runs up to the guards}  "Hi. I hope I didn't miss anything. My car's in the shop so I had to take public transit. And you know how that is."

Guard:  "Yes, I do. {He looks at the invitation. Lucky walks around in the lobby to see her standing there} Ruby Anderson?"

Lizzie:  {Whispering} "Do you have to shout? {Two more guards come up behind her and she looks around but still tries to bluff her way in} Is there a problem?" {She looks inside to see Lucky watching her amazed}

Lizzie:  {Defensively}  "I don't have a picture ID."

Guard:  {Very skeptical} "You have a car but no license?"

Lizzie:  {Going through her purse. Lucky is watching silently} "Look, I've got pictures of me and my family. I've got a picture of my sister. Look. {Holding out her wallet} Isn't she pretty? She'd go out with you."

Lucky: {Coming over to the door}  "Elizabeth."

Lizzie:  "He knows me!"

Guard: {Turning to Lucky}  "We just found your aunt's invitation." {Lucky raises his eyebrows and they both turn to look at Lizzie}

Lizzie:  "I saw it sitting on the counter. I didn't know whose it was so I just thought that, you know--"

Lucky:  "Oh. You thought I left it for you."

Lizzie:  "Yes!"  {Smiling}

Lucky:  {He pulls the guard aside for a private conversation}  "I invited her to come with me."

Guard:  "Then why didn't she?"

Lucky:  "We had a fight. I mean, it was nothing. She saw me with this other girl--"

Guard:  "You're not as smooth as your old man yet."

Lucky:  "Look. You saw inside her bag. She's obviously not packing anything removable underneath that little dress of hers, okay? Come on."

Lizzie:  {The guard looks at Lucky and then walks back to the doorway. The other two guards leave and Lizzie moves to Lucky’s side} "Oh. You are so awesome! You think that guy ever killed anyone before?"

Lucky:  "You could ask him. Maybe he'll demonstrate." {He turns around and walks off. Lizzie sighs and then follows}

Bobbie: {Lucky sits down beside her and Ruby}  "What happened to you? They made us come in and sit down."

Lucky:  "I got to talking to somebody."  {Lizzie comes and sits down beside him}

Bobbie:  "Hi, Elizabeth."

Lizzie:  "Hi." {Looking around Lucky, smiling}

Lucky: {Not looking at her} "I don't know you." {Lizzie just settles back, smirking at him}

Bobbie: {The wedding didn’t happen and people are standing in the lobby, rain is pouring down outside}  'We have got to get out of here for Brenda's sake, but if we wait for a cab in this weather, we could be here all night."

Lucky: "Well, that's me. Me and my bright ideas. Yeah, ‘why not walk? It's so close’."

Bobbie:  "Yeah. Well, you know, there's a bright side. Justus said the Quartermaines invited everyone over to their house and they're sending cars."

Lizzie: {In awe}  "To their personal mansion?"

Lucky:  "I really don't feel like being butlerized and having little pink things on crackers shoved in my face."

Bobbie:  "Okay. Well, I'll tell you what. Why don't we take the car, and somehow I'll convince the driver to drop you and Liz and Ruby off."

Lucky:  "Okay." {Bobbie leaves}

Lizzie: {Putting a hand on Lucky’s arm} "Hey. I don't mind going."

Lucky:  "Look. You weaseled your way in here. You saw what there was to see. And now you're getting a ride home. Just be grateful."

Lizzie:  {Smiling} "I am." {Lizzie kisses him on the cheek. He looks at her a moment, surprised and then walks off}
