BSB's Pay Per View Concert
On Feb. 6. 1999, the BSB brought their Orlando, Florida New Year's Eve concert to Pay Per View. For $19.95 you got to see an hour and a half show plus a half hour pre-game show. The pre-game show was an interview with videos. You could (in some parts) here snipits of new songs in the background.
Anyway, on to the show. Before the show their was a little talk with each boy and you saw their prayer and song. Then the show started. The Boys blasted up to "That's The Way I Like It" clothed in racing shirts and black pants. They kept things pumping with "Hey Mr DJ". Three things i have to point out : 1. Near the end of the song, Nick pores water over his head, yet when they start "Just To Be Close To You" there's not a wet hair on his lovely head. 2. Near the end of Howie leaves to get ready for his solo. but then there he is for "JTBCTY". 3. During the song, AJ has taken off the vest he had on at the beginning. Then during "JTBCTY," he's wearing it again. Hmm...
Let's move on. The solos were next. Howie was first with the beautiful "My Heart Stays With You". He sounded great. He threw red roses to the audience as well. Next was AJ with "Lay Down Beside Me". Now I have heard lots of complaints about AJ's let's say, suggestive dance moves. I personally had no problem with it. At least he wasn't exposing himself (I won't mention the other I've been to where that happened). He sounded great. I'll just add here that there have also been a lot of complaints about his screaming, I think he has an incredible voice and again, he sounded great. Next up was Kevin. I just have to say, I love "Nobody But You" and Kevin's voice. They should let him sing more often. I must say I thought his dance moves were adorable. Ok, now it was Brian's turn. "That's What She Said' has got to be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Brian really has a talent for writing. It was just as awesome live as it was on the CD. Finally, Nick. 'I Need You Tonight' is another one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Nick has such a strong, incredible voice. I was a little disappointed that he didn't perform the whole song.
The Boys then picked things back up with "Let's Have A Party', followed by "Quit Playing Games". I must say, the thing with the band was a bit corny, but can they ever play. Next was one of my faves, "All I Have To Give". I love this song. I love the hat routine. The strut they do is so sexy.
The Boys slowed things down some singing "Anywhere For You" and then "I'll Never Break Your Heart".
Now, here's where the editing was evident. When they showed "Get Down," it was already a bit into the song. But it still sounded awesome. Next they took it way back with "We've Got It Goin' On".
The finally. we all know that it's "Everybody". Parts of the video were shown and then there was the Grim Reaper. I found him hilarious. Then there were the Boys in 5 coffins. It was great. It was energetic. And then it was over.
I've been told that there were a lot of parts that were cut out, But when I watched the show, I didn't realize it (except at the Get Down part), so it didn't bother me.
