Who is Craig Wesley?
Salem's resident villain while Stefano's away. First and foremost, an enemy of Mike Horton. Mike and Craig went to medical school together and were always competing over one thing or another. Craig and Mike first ran into each other in Los Angeles, when Mike and Carrie were there seeing if they could ferret out a doctor amongst the multitude that had gathered for a conference who could help her father, Roman Brady, who was then dying of a mysterious disease. As Craig and Mike got into a bit of a one-upsmanship contretemps, Carrie came out of her room and landed one on the good doctor, surprising him and herself. She proceeded to tell Craig that she was Mike's girlfriend. When Austin called up to see where Mike and Carrie were, Craig happened to answer the phone and mention something about the two "lovebirds," getting Austin all upset.
Craig returned to Salem with a different wife than the one he had in Los Angeles. He'd traded in skinny and sweet Missy for the plump and poisonous Nancy, who brought a dowry with her. Craig and Nancy are scheming to get their hands on the COS position at Salem University Hospital if they have to use every dirty trick in the book.

What is his main conflict?
More than anything, Craig wants the COS position at Salem University, and he's willing to do anything to get it. He's gone so far as to hire a woman to make Mike look bad in front of the board members Winston and Lewis, and he's set his sights on manipulating Carrie Brady Reed into having an affair with Mike in order to discredit him.

What would I do with Craig if I were a DOOL writer?

Get him more airtime, for one thing. Sure, his only connection to Salem is through Mike, but come on, people! He's become relegated to Mike's old role of only appearing when there's been an accident. I want more Craig!
Step up the sexual tension between Craig and Ali. This is a relatively unexplored avenue that could provide a huge amount of interesting plotlines, including how Nancy would handle the infidelity of her husband while they're trying to push Carrie to do the same thing with Mike.
Have something going on between Craig and Sami. She's always been looking for a father-figure, and there could be a deliciously evil and erotic dance of death between these two villains!

What impact could Craig have on B & H Inc.?

Craig, with the help of his partner in crime, Nancy, are doing their best to make it official, if only to feed off of the scandal such a union would create if it happened while Carrie was still married to Austin.

My opinion of the character of Craig:
I want his baby.
Ohmijesuslord! Can we say, "sex-god"? I love Kevin Spirtas! He's so gorgeous and has such a deliciously evil onscreen presence. He's said that people call him "the snake" while he's at the studio. That's one reptile I wouldn't mind curling up with!
So, Kevin, just take it off. . .take it all off!
