Buffy was a writer. She wrote under the name Natalie Giles. She had spent the last six years in Sunnydale, watching the Hellmouth and helping in the library. She hadn't seen Angel in six years.

Giles had stayed in Sunnydale with Buffy after Joyce was electrocuted. Jenny had been resurrected and now, after adopting Buffy, they were married and still working at Sunnydale High.

Xander and Cordelia got hitched, dropped college, bought the Bronze and had a baby girl, Alexandra Clare, all before they were 22.

Anya had left Sunnydale to go and act in Australia's biggest soap drama Home and Away.

Oz was a singer. He hadn't set foot in Sunnydale since he left in 2000.
