102 - A Prelude to a Kiss
Dawson and Joey are watching an old black and white romance movie. Dawson starts on how he wants to create the perfect moment for Jen and his first kiss. Dawson says Joey could be Deborah Kerr (female actress in the movie they were watching). Dawson calls Joey a bitter, cynical, jaded thing. Joey adds, "You used to be bitter and cynical too. You were far more interesting. This Peter Pan fantasy filmland your living in, it will be your downfall. Clap hard Dawson, you may be Tinkerbell's last hope".
The film class is talking about an ending for their football movie ("Helmets of Glory", can you even say it with a straight face) All the classes ideas are juvenile to say the least, so Dawson stands up and states the formula to it. Nellie Olson, the producer, laughs at his idea.
Pacey is failing Ms.Jacobs English class along with many other classes. Pacey speaks, "Do you know how difficult it is to fail? OK, this has taken a considerable amount of work and energy... It was my hope that a certain teacher would bail me out with some private encounters... I need a slave driver. Somebody with a whip maybe?" They agree to meet 6ish that night in the classroom.
At the Icehouse, Dawson says to Pacey and Joey how he is going to bridge fantasy with reality. He plans to take Jen to the ruins to shoot the final scene of the movie. Pacey asks Joey for some oysters, something a little sexy. Joey doesn't hear Pacey as she is gazing at a guy who is noticing her.
At the football set, Dawson is working on props when Jen shows up. Cliff comes over and walks Jen away to where he needs her, but "Thanks David" first. Jen corrects him, "It's Dawson."
Pacey asks Tamara if they had gone to school together and were the same age, would she have dated him? Probably not is her answer.
Joey hears a violin playing at the Icehouse so she goes to see who it is. It's the guy she saw before. Anderson Crawford is not from Capeside and is here away from boarding school on his families sailboat. When asked her name, Joey says her name is "Deborah Kerr...son, Deborah Carson" and she is also from out of town. She agrees to go sailing with him at noon tomorrow.
Tamara quizzes Pacey on his English and he seems to get it. She then sets for sex in the classroom. Pacey is a little nervous. She asks if this is his first time. It is. She tells Pacey to go home. Pacey adds, "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
At the film shoot, Dawson is moching what Cliff is saying. Nellie states how Dawson doesn't belong here.
Joey and Anderson set sail and talk about boarding school's hassles. Joey says that her dad is a CEO of one of the nations best selling tampons. Anderson asks "So what's your boy-friend like?" Honesty is the primary quality he's looking for in a girl.
The film crew is having troubles at the shoot. When Dawson tries to give advice, Nellie tells him to shut up.
Anderson and Joey are on the beach having fun. He tries to kiss her, but Joey stops it.
Dawson solves the problem at the shoot to the delight of Cliff.
At the Icehouse, Joey sees Anderson coming, so she takes a seat beside Dawson and Jen. Dawson doesn't catch on at first that Joey has been lying to Anderson. Jen catches on quick and helps her out. Dawson catches on, but adds comments that make Anderson a little confused.
Dawson and Jen trespass on to the ruins and he films Jen for the final scene. Dawson approaches Jen and they are about to kiss when she sees that Dawson left the camera on pointed at them.
Anderson says he's in NY allot (where Deborah Carson lives), so they can meet sometime again. Joey lets something slip that shows she is lying. So he goes inside gives her his phone number, only to have Joey throw it away later on.
Dawson says to Jen how she scares him and that she makes him do stupid things in an attempt to impress her. Dawson hears people coming so they hide in the bushes, where they kiss for the first time. On the monitor, we see Tamara having sex with someone over her shoulder. We then see off camera, Pacey laying beside her kissing her naked shoulder.
