106 - The Breakfast Club - Detention
Dawson and Joey are watching a movie, but Dawson turns it off. It's unrealistic. A girl can't choose who to go out with, so she decided to go out with the guy with the faster car. Dawson can't stand the idea that if a girl had to choose between two guys, she might not choose the romantic dufas. She might just choose the guy with the faster car, bigger biceps, or even bigger joystick. Dawson gets frustrated, so he turns the movie back on.
Joey is giving a presentation in class, when Grant, a jock, disrupts her presentation. He comments on how the jocks run the school. Joey tells him he has a low IQ.
Pacey is telling Jen how they used to call Dawson "Oompah-Lumpah", the little green midgets from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Dawson arrives and asks what they are laughing about. Jen says it's nothing. Pacey picks on Dawson's lack of athletic talent. Jen tells Dawson that she wants to do something fun this weekend, like skydiving naked.
In the locker room, Dawson asks Pacey again what they were laughing at. When Pacey won't answer, Dawson says that Jen told him already. Dawson is furious when he finds out. Pacey kids around with the name more. Dawson pushes Pacey away.
Jen has a disagreement with her teacher over euthanasia. Jen lets the word "bitch" slip out. She just bought herself Saturday detention.
At the cafeteria, Joey runs into Grant. Joey ends up smashing her tray on him, knees him in the gut, and punches him in the face.
Pacey challenges Dawson to a game of Basketball to impress the cheerleaders. After a few points, Dawson decides to go. Pacey doesn't want him to as Dawson makes him look good. Pacey says, "Pass me the ball “Oompah-Lumpah". Dawson throws the ball at Pacey. As Pacey turns around, he gets hit in the face. Pacey falls to the ground and all the cheerleaders gather around him. The coach tells Dawson to cool off in Saturday detention.
Jen and Dawson enter the school library to see Pacey sitting in a chair, with a strip over his nose and two black eyes. Jen asks what Pacey is in detention for. Long story he says. Abby Morgan, the girl from hell, enters. The librarian (Mrs. Tringle) tells them that they will be spending the day here, as Joey enters the room. Everyone is mad at each other, and mad at Abby more.
Abby says the reason she is in detention, is for having a gang-bang in the boys locker room.
Dawson says how this situation is so "Breakfast Club". Jen asks whatever happened to those actors. Dawson says they are in TV obscurity. Pacey objects. Emilio Estevez was in those Duck movies (with Joshua Jackson). The others just give Pacey a blank stare.
Abby complains that she is bored. Pacey offers to go down to the locker room and do a little... Abby says that they should play truth or dare. Abby dares Pacey to kiss Jen for 10 seconds. Pacey asks Joey who she is in love with. She backs out, so he dares her to kiss Dawson for 15 seconds. They kiss, and are into it. Jen isn't too happy.
Joey asks Jen if she is attracted to Dawson the most in the school. After stumbling around the question, she says yes. Jen says that Joey should stop dwelling on them and get her own boyfriend. Dawson dares everyone to follow him. It's time for a jail-break.
The group sneaks past Mrs. Tringle. She is watching "Days of Our Lives". Jen figures that they have about 1 hour left.
They photo-copy their butts. Jen picks out Pacey's butt. Pacey goes on about how his butt is a magnet. Dawson calls him pathetic. Pacey says he's just jelous. They challenge each other to a rematch of Basketball.
If Pacey looses, he has to tell them why he is in detention. They are having a rough and equal game. Abby says that Joey is in love with Dawson. Joey asks why Jen has to be so nice all the time.
Abby looks at the clock and sees that they have two minutes left. Dawson takes one last shot and wins. They run back to the library to find Mrs.Tingle waiting for them.
Mrs. Tringle picks up a card catalog, dumps it on the floor, mixes it up, and tells them that they will arrange the cards in order by 5:00 or spend next Saturday in detention. Abby doesn't help, as she has carpal tunnel syndrome.
Abby hands the completed cards back to Mrs. Tringle. Mrs. Tringle says that Abby can go home now, and hopes she has learned her lesson that excessive tardies will not be tolerated.
Pacey tells the reason why he is in detention. After Dawson threw the basketball at him, the cheerleaders were being extra friendly towards him. He got a little excited. He went into the bathroom to relieve the tension if ya know what I mean. Coach came in to check up on his nose, and he saw more than his nose.
Dawson apologizes to Pacey, and Pacey does too.
Joey says that she will probably go to her grave a virgin. Dawson says it's just a matter of time before she finds the right person. She says that she has. Mrs. Tringle says that they can go home now.
