109 - Friday the 13th - The Scare
Dawson and Joey are watching Dawson's Creek writer, Kevin Williamson’s "I Know What You Did Last Summer". Joey is scared by it so much that she shuts it off. She doesn't want to watch horror movies. Dawson insists, as tomorrow is Friday the 13th. They see on the news that "The Lady Killer" has killed it's fifth victim. Dawson sneaks away. Joey looks around the room, but gets scared when she can't find him. He comes out from under the bed with a mask and flashlight, scaring Joey.
Pacey asks Dawson what his evil plan is. Dawson's parents are out of town this weekend. Dawson says no more "life imitating movies". Capeside has a serial killer within striking distance and he's gonna treat it like any other night? Dawson says no. Pacey opens his locker to have a skull pop out and scare him.
Cliff asks Jen out. She ends up defending Dawson. She agrees to the date. Joey is scared by a fake snake placed in her bag, by Dawson.
Pacey is telling Jen and Joey that Capeside is the killers next target. Girls just like Joey. Dawson scares Joey again by sneaking up behind her. Dawson tells them about a seance tonight at his house. Dawson puts a rubber finger on Pacey's plate. Jen tells Dawson she can't make it, date with Cliff. Pacey picks up the finger and spits it out after he bites it. Jen asks why she hasn't been scared yet? He figures she wasn't into scary stuff. Pacey pulls the finger trick on Joey.
Cliff asks Dawson how he can have fun with Jen.
Jen opens her locker to see a letter with "YOU ARE GOING TO DIE TONIGHT!!" written on it, much like IKWYDLS. Cliff then sneaks up on Jen. Jen blames Dawson for the note. Cliff says it's a surprise where he is taking her.
At Jen's house, she gets a phone call with a man on the other end disguising his voice. He uses phrases from "Scream". Jen blames it on Dawson. She is scared and starts looking around. Jen sees an open door. She goes to it, but Grams comes up from behind and asks her what's going on. "Soon Jennifer" the phone says before he hangs up.
Joey catches Dawson hiding props. Pacey arrives and they get in the car to get some snacks. Joey doesn't like his driving.
At the store, Pacey asks Joey to watch the car as he doesn't have the keys. You only borrow from family. Dawson and Pacey see a couple fight. The lady talks to Pacey and steals him a bottle of wine.
In the car, a man comes to the window and asks Joey for directions and where a hotel is. He stares at Joey. She isn't comfortable. Dawson arrives and the guy leaves. He tells Joey to watch out. He could have been the lady killer.
Pacey gets the wine. Him and the lady (Ursula) then run into the car and take off, with her boyfriend running after them.
Cliff picks up Jen. Grams is at the door waiting. She likes him. Cliff tells Jen they aren’t going far. Just to Dawson's for his seance.
Ursula is looking around Dawson's house with everyone watching her. Jen thanks Dawson for the phone call and letter. Dawson denies it.
Ursula continues to scream at Dawson's pranks he has set up around the house. Jen and Joey even get scared.
Everyone is siting at the seance table. Dawson tells the story of one of the Lady Killers victims. Everyone cringes. Cliff tells a story about a baby being killed. It's not scary, it's disgusting. Everyone feels for the poor baby. Ursula tells a story that matches their situation tonight, bringing home a stranger from a convenience store. But in her story, the lady slices throats just to see how far blood will splurt. the power goes off and everyone screams.
Everyone blames Dawson. He says it must be a blackout. Jen goes to phone the electric company, but the phone is dead. they double up and go lock doors, get flashlights and check power. Cliff and Jen get flashlights out of the closet. They then see a mirror with the message "YOUR GOING TO DIE TONIGHT" written on it in red. Jen blames it on Dawson. Cliff says that it could actually be some psychopath trying to kill her.
Ursula tells Dawson that se feels his ex is in the house and she wants him back. Ursula thought it was Joey. Dawson says that they are just friends. Dawson can't figure out what's wrong with the fuse box. He set it to go off but can't fix it. They hear a noise from inside. They enter to see Jen, Cliff, and Pacey sitting down. Joey went off to look for Dawson. He goes off to find her. Dawson hears a thud from the closet. He opens it up and a bloody Joey falls out limp. Dawson turns around to see a person in black and a mask behind him. He screams.
Joey then starts laughing and Jen takes the mask off from her head. Jen came up with the idea. She did it as payback for Dawson’s notes and phone calls. Dawson again claims he didn't do it. Jen and Dawson have a talk about why he invited them tonight. They are about to kiss but they both stop.
Pacey and Ursula are outside when her boyfriend shows up and runs at them. They run inside the house. He bangs on the windows and doors. He gets in the house and is choking Pacey, when Joey hits hi mover the head with a frying pan repeatedly. Ursula stops Joey and the two leave.
Cliff tells Jen that he was the one with all the notes and phone calls to impress her. Jen says she doesn't need a boyfriend right now. Cliff goes to kiss Jen, when Grams opens the door. Grams apologizes and tells Jen to take all the time she needs.
Joey and Dawson have a talk about them not knowing what they would do if one of them died, except cry. Joey says she will spend the night. They watch the news, and see that the Lady Killer has been caught. It is the guy that was talking to Joey outside the store.
