A werewolf movie is on Dawson’s TV. Dawson asks if there’s anything more beautiful than a full moon. Joey clarifies, on Dawson’s roof, that it’s not full until tomorrow. Dawson says it symbolizes peacefulness. “Peaceful? A full moon throws everything off kilter. Weird things always happen on a full moon.” “Is Joey Potter being superstitious?” “No! Scientific. Human beings are made up of 70% water. And the moon controls the tide. Pulling great bodies of water back and forth. It does the same thing to us. Weird things always happen during a full moon.” “You’re scaring me.” Dawson slips and slides a bit down the shingles of the steep roof. “Very funny.”
Downtown, Mitch asks Tamara for the plans again. She’s desperate to sell her warehouse. Capeside is a bridge she should burn. They walk off together. Vincent meets up with Jen. He asks where Abby is. They aren’t talking to each other. Vincent wants to know what happens in this town. “Not much.” She’s the first breath of fresh air that’s blown through his week in Capeside. He’s flirting with her. He asks if she can show him around. She agrees. Her house, tonight. Jen walks off. Andie enters Screen Play Video to hear the moans of “Jacuzzi Floozies”, a porno that Pacey is watching. Pacey points out the most interesting part of a porn is the title. Sperminator, Romancing the Bone, Little Oral Annie. Andie says they should all have the same title. “Women Pacey will never do”. Pacey says they should go out on a date before someone gets hurt, “Andie, would you like to go on a date with me, tonight?” “OK.” “Well, you don’t have to seem to enthused.” “Where are we going?” “How about the movies? That way we don’t have to talk to each other that much. Less chance of punches being thrown.” “Good idea. “Great. I’ll pick you up at 7:30.” “I’ll meet you there.” “It’s OK. It is a date. I can pick you up.” “How ‘bout we meet at the Icehouse? Neutral ground.” “It’s fine. Your place is on my way.” “Maybe we shouldn’t do this.” “Don’t wuss out on me now.” “OK. 7:30. See you there. Don’t be late.” Andie quickly leaves. “Cool.”, Pacey says.
Jen is trying on makeup at a store, when Abby comes in and asks if she’s still mad at her. Jen still is. Abby says she’s always like this around this time of the month. Abby “accidentally” drops a tube of lipstick into her purse. Abby says they should never let a guy come between them again. Jen has a date with Vincent tonight. “You bitch! How could you go and steal him from me?” “He doesn’t even know that you exist.” “You might want to stop and pick up some condoms. He probably has illegitimate kids scattered up and down the eastern seaboard. He probably likes it kinky. Oh, but your the girl from New York City.” “I’m warning you, back off.” “Ol’ Vincent probably knows an easy lay when he sees one.” With that, Jen turns around and slaps her across the side of the face.” “Don’t you ever talk to me again, ever!”, Jen says as she leaves.
Dawson and Joey are sitting at his kitchen table, while Gale is doing some work in the kitchen. Mitch asks what she’s doing. A reporter from out of town visits the station every once and a while. She’s having him over for dinner. “Him. It’s Saturday Gale. That sounds more like a Thursday night excursion.” Dawson asks, “What are Thursday’s?” “It’s work, Mitch.” “Somehow the fact that he’s a coworker doesn’t provide mw with much comfort. I wonder why?” “At least I have coworkers. I work, therefor I have coworkers.” Dawson and Joey get up and leave the room. “My parents are scaring the hell out of me, Joey.” Joey tells him not to worry. It’s just the full moon. When Dawson tries to ask Mitch what’s wrong, he says “Not now.”
Jen is putting makeup on at her mirror. Grams asks her if she wants to go to Bible study with her. She passes. Abby arrives at the door. She’s upset that Jen slapped her. Jen reminds her that over the last few days, she’s calls her a bitch, a slut, and a loser. “Yeah, but I would never hit you.” “Why don’t you just go home?” “Why? Is the man from the docks comin’ - a - callin’?” “Yes, he is.” Abby leaves, but not under her own will.
Gale is talking to her guest Gary, when she gets up to get the door. It’s Tamara. She’s here to see Mitch. Mitch arrives and invites her in. She’d leaving tomorrow, so she dropped by so he could take another look at the blueprints. “Gale, you’ve met Tamara.” “PTA meetings.”
Joey is sketching the only customer in the Icehouse. An old man. Jack is doing some origami. They’ve got $2.08 the whole night in tips, Joey points out. Jack tells her to enjoy the quite. Jack says that being a waiter allows you to see so many types of people. Joey adds, “...ways to blame you for their food being cold.” “Why are you so angry?” “Just the full moon.” “Not just tonight. All the time.”
Jen and Vincent talk on her porch, He’s saving up money for Law school. “Appearance is everything.” “Unfortunate isn’t it?” “Not from where I’m sitting.” “Are you flirting with me again?” “I can stop.” “Now where would the fun be in that?”
Dawson watches Mitch and Tamara looking at plans. Then he watch Gale and Gary talking. Mitch asks Dawson what he’s doing. “Nothing.” “What’s your mom up to?” “Same as you.” Gale goes to the kitchen to get more wine. She asks Mitch if he’s really going to by the condemned warehouse to open up a restaurant. “It’s obvious your Thursday night escapades are flowing into the weekend.” Dawson jumps in “What are Thursday nights?” They both tell him to go to his room. “How are you going to buy this building?” “I got a loan, Gale.” “That’s good, because I’m getting tired of indulging in the dreams of man who can hardly look me in the eye.” They argue over their plans for the night while everyone listens to them. “Not everything is about sex Gale, at least not to me.”
Dawson goes to his room and lays on the bed. He is startled to find Abby at his window, looking at Jen’s house with binoculars. “What the hell are you doing here?”
Pacey is greeted by Andie’s mother at her door. She tells him that Andie is very taken with him. She talks about him all the time. She says Andie’s father, Will, will be home very soon. She yells up the stairs for Tim, Andie and Jack’s older brother. He goes to Columbia. He comes home every few weekends. She invites Pacey for dinner, and asks him to set the table. “This just became a bizarre first date.”
Jack’s looking at some lobsters. Joey asks how their lone customer is. The lights flicker. Joey notices the pump on the lobsters is down. They quickly put them in some ice. Andie walks in and asks if Pacey is here. She went to the show, but he never showed up. “He’s either totally blowing me off, or... Oh my god!” “What?” “Jack. The house. He said he wanted to pick me up. What if he goes to the house?” “Don’t worry about it. It’s OK.” “Are you crazy? If he shows up and she’s... Oh my god!” Andie runs off and the camera tilts up to show the full moon.
Vincent tells Jen that one night he went to this girls place, then she tells him she’s a he. Jen tells Vince that she was caught by her dad in bed. They kiss.
Abby is watching them in Dawson’s room. She tells Dawson that she’s spying on Jen. Dawson just wants her to go away. She tells him to just let his parents get a divorce. That’s what her parents did. Abby starts to give Dawson a back massage. He tells her this isn’t going to happen. “Joey doesn’t have to know.” She wants to kiss in front of the window, so Jen can see. Dawson shoves her off. She wants him to tell Jen that Joey and him are having an open relationship. A light clicks on in Dawson’s head. He goes downstairs and tells his parents he needs to talk with them. He asks, “Are you two having an open marriage?” They look at each other but don’t speak.
Vincent throws Jen onto the table. Jen wants to stop. She tells him she’s 16. Grams enters and tells him to go. He does, quickly.
Pacey is looking at a photo of the McPhee family. Jack, Tim, Mrs. McPhee, Will, and Andie. Andie enters and asks what he’s doing here. Andie wants to go, but Pacey told her mom that they’d stay for dinner. She just wants to sneak out. Andie wants to know what she said to him. According to her mom, Pacey is worthy of meeting the country club father, and Ivy League brother. Andie tries to drag him out. “Are you so ashamed of me that you don’t want me to meet your own brother?” “Tim died. He’s dead, OK?”
Joey and Jack have about 10 minutes left until the lobsters will die. Jack thinks he has fixed it, but all of the power goes off. The customer tells him how to fix it. It works. “Maybe he lost his wife”, Joey says. “Or... a child.” Jack says. They look back at him but he is gone. “No tip.” Jack picks up his glass and finds a $100 bill. He also left a poem. It’s about moonlight, young love, and death. Jack pulls Joey close and the kiss below the full moon. Joey walks away and continues working.
Dawson wants to know why they are having an open marriage. Gale wants to know too. Mitch admits it was a mistake. He yells at Gale telling her it’s her fault. She can’t apologize anymore. She has someone to be with in the other room, if she plans to continue to support Mitch. “You have never supported me!” Mitch plays the affair card. Gale runs off. “GOD, Dad! You can’t just let it go, can you? She made a mistake! I know that, she knows that, you know that. She’s been trying to get you to forgive her and you won’t let her off the hook. You gotta get beyond your own ego, and just forgive her. Fix this family.” “I don’t know how to fix it.” His dad had answers for every problem. “I didn’t know to ask.” He starts crying. Dawson puts his hand on his shoulder.
Grams tells her that she won’t let her fall back into her New York behavior. “Have you no respect for yourself?” Jen is crying on the steps under the full moon.
Dawson goes to the Icehouse and gives Joey a hug. Jack tells Joey he’ll finish up. Joey and Dawson walk off. Joey glances back at Jack.
Andie tells Pacey of how her father was drunk on the way home from a football game. Her mom was driving. She didn’t see the truck. Andie doesn’t want Pacey to say anything to anyone. He won’t. Her mom was in the hospital for a while to get help. Her dad bailed. Checks in once and a while. He lives in Providence with the business that’s going under. Jack doesn’t think about it, so it doesn’t happen. Pacey goes to hold her, but she doesn’t want his pity. He pulls her close and they hug.
Joey and Dawson climb up the ladder. Dawson doesn’t want to go inside the house. Joey tries to talk to Dawson, but he just wants to sit.
Gale and Mitch know it’s time. He’ll go.
Dawson lays his head on Joey as she holds him close.
