211 - Sex, She Wrote

Jack is leaving Joey’s. She thanks him for posing for her. On Jen’s porch, Dawson apologizes. He doesn’t know what came over him. Jen says they should give what just happened some time. Pacey and Andie hug and kiss each other. Jack asks if she has any regrets. She doesn’t. He kisses her. Dawson kisses Jen goodnight and leaves. Andie and Pacey thanks each other. Jack leaves and Joey has a blank look to her face. Pacey is content, and Jen looks confused.

Dawson is doing a presentation on “Mystery” in his English class. He makes sure to use a video. “The key to solving and great crime is a practical understanding of human behavior”. Dawson finishes up, then Mr. Peterson asks for Abby to present. She makes up an excuse. He doesn’t buy it. If she doesn’t turn in a project, she fails the class. Chris sees a note on the floor after class has left, and picks it up.

Jack and Joey sit silently eating their lunch. He wants to know if they’ll ever talk again. She hopes so.

Andie kisses Pacey romantically in the cafeteria. Pacey objects to making out where they are now. She has a major lust issue. She thanks him for being a gentleman last night. He had a nice time. Dawson gives Jen his new and improved script. Now, the so called Dawson character does it with the girl from the big city. He made the changes per their last conversation. “Last conversation or last physical encounter?” She inspired him.

Abby can’t fail, or she’ll go to summer school. Chris asks her if she had sex last night and shows her the letter. In the letter, someone says they should take some time off their relationship ‘cause sex changes everything.

Joey goes to show Jack the drawing. He closes her folder quickly. He doesn’t want the whole school seeing it. Jack asks if he can keep it when she’s done with it. He wants to remember everything about last night.

Andie reaches for Pacey’s History quiz. He won’t show her it. She wants to know if it’s the paper or her. Things escalated in their relationship last night. Pacey doesn’t want to talk about it now. He needs to study.

Abby determines she will determine who wrote the letter for Peterson’s assignment. There’s only 3 likely couples. Pacey and Andie; Joey and Jack; and Dawson and Jen. She wants Chris to tape it. “Why? Out of the goodness of my heart?” “I’ll let you touch me in bad places.” “OK.”

Dawson and Joey are waiting, on the school porch, for the rain to stop. He asks to see her drawing, but she quickly changes the subject. He’s still casting for the movie. Can’t find a leading lady. She needs passion, innocence, and beauty. “Sounds like your looking for a Julia Roberts, Dawson.” “What I need is a you.” “Dawson, is this movie about us?” “It’s a drama in the vein of us.” She wants to read it. Make sure it’s not a character assassination. He would never write anything hurtful about her, ever. The rain stops, and Dawson continues on his way.

Abby tells Chris in the re-write their two characters have sex. Chris wants to know when they’re going to practice. This is a clue in her little “who screwed it?” Jen gives them both some papers for a rehearsal schedule. Abby cuts right to it and asks her is any of her new scenes were acted out before they were written. “Does Dawson Leery have any other talents besides film making?” Jen says that what goes on in her bedroom is her own business. “Was it worth all the pining?” “Yeah, it was.” Chris is happy that Abby got the confession. A sexual confession from Jen Lindly is like Bill Gates admitting he made $2 last year.

Abby now has a petition for a school condom dispenser. She’s asking her suspects to sign it. Chris asks Dawson what it was like his first time with Jen. Abby is confusing Jack with questions. Dawson wants to know who Chris’ source is. “Well, if you and Jen were the only two in her room, who do you think it was?” Abby is now trying Andie. Abby says Pacey told Dawson, who told Jen, who told her, who tells the world. All Pacey’s experience was with a 40-year old teacher. No wonder her performance was lacking.

Chris slips the new script into Joey’s bag. Abby and Chris find the drawing of naked Jack. Plot thickens.

Abby comes over to Dawson’s. He says they didn’t have sex. She says it’s too bad, ‘cause Joey slept with Jack. Abby gives Dawson the drawing of naked Jack. He kicks her out of the house.

Abby gives Chris a bunch of envelopes to discretely hand out. He says she’s Nancy Drew... from hell.

Pacey wants to talk to Andie. He’s been doing enough talking for the both of them. Since when does she listen to what Abby Morgan says? “She knows.” She doesn’t like the warped side about that night. Andie finds an envelope.

Joey tells Jen she read some of the script and she thinks it’s a story best left untold. She wonders what else in it is autobiographical? “Well, maybe you should talk to the writer about that.

Jack finds an envelope. Dawson gives him the drawing back. He was overwhelmed by her talent.

Jen finds Jack in the class room. They both were invited. Andie, Pacey, Joey and Dawson show up. Abby then shows up with Chris, who has a camcorder. Jen asks why they are here. “All good things come to those who wait, but you haven’t been very good at postponing pleasure have you Jen?” Abby reads the letter out to everyone. Joey goes to leave, but Abby keeps her in her seat. First, she thought it was Dawson and Jen. But he’s saving himself for Joey, and Jen has way too many intimacy issues to actually bump someone she actually cares for. Next guess was Jack and Joey. Dawson asks Joey what happened after the modeling session. “What do you care?” “Maybe I don’t?” They ask each other the question of whether they had sex. They both yell out at the same time “Yes!” Jen stands up and says that’s not the truth. Jack does also. One couple left. Andie says she didn’t write it. Nope, it belongs to Pacey. He nods his head yes. Andie is disgusted and walks out. Pacey tells Jack that’s not how it is. Jen lets Abby know she’s pathetic.

Mr. Peterson calls upon Abby. She takes out her book and tape. All of the suspects stare at her unhappily. Abby puts her stuff away and sits with her arms crossed. She gets an “F”. Andie thanks her.

Jen finds Jack sitting alone. He doesn’t find it that funny playing second string. He’ll get used to it. She did. She asks why Joey and him didn’t do it. He whispers to her what sounds like “I couldn’t get it up.” “Those things never co-operate.”

Pacey gets into Andie’s car. He’s sorry for his behavior. He takes out his History quiz. He got an “A”. First “A” in his entire life. He’s scared that he’s changing, and is unpredictable. He’s falling hopelessly in love with her. She shares his fear. They lean over and kiss.

Dawson asks Joey why they never had sex when they were together. It’s not about the perfect time or setting, but person. they find themselves on the porch again waiting out the rain. “Why did you want me to think you slept with Jack?” “Same reason you wanted me to think you slept with Jen.” He’s glad she didn’t. She’s glad he didn’t either. They miss each other. They should start being friends again, slowly. Dawson says they should make a run for it. (It’s still raining) She thinks they should take it slowly and just walk. He takes off his jacket and covers their heads as they walk in the rain.
