Nicky Little was taking a walk in the park the other day and she saw Crying Girl sitting on a park bench, crying. She asked her,"What's the Matter, Crying Girl?"
"Me and my mom had a bad arguement! She said that I don't do enough work around the house. I told her that with all the homework I need to keep up with, I hardly have time to do much, no to mention that doing so much homework and housework already took away most of my freetime. I also told her that I was doing so much housework anyway on top of all the homework, and I was ending up staying up late trying to finish my homework."
Nicky said,"I understand what you are going though. I have usually made a schedule on my housework and when I get home, I do the housework first, and work on my homework afterwards. I even made up a song about it. How about if I sing it for you? I think it will make you feel better."
Crying Girl said, "Thanks Nicky! I would appreciate hearing it."
"Done," said Nicky.
But as the background music introduction started playing, Milo and Pepper Ann approached them. Pepper Ann asked her, "Hey Nicky! What's up?"
"Hi Milo and Pepper Ann. I was just about to sing a song to Crying Girl...."
Milo, who was not paying attention, said to Pepper Ann, "I'll tell you P.A., I was not quite happy about the service from that new waiter at Greezy and Cheezy."
Nicky, who was trying to trying to tell Pepper Ann about her song, said to Milo, "Milo, I am trying to talk to Pepper Ann!"
But Pepper Ann, who wasn't paying attention to her either, said to Milo, "Yeah Milo, I wasn't happy about him either; especially his attitude. I'm going back to Greezy and Cheezy and report him to the manager."
Nicky said to Pepper Ann and Milo, "Can you BOTH be quiet and pay attention to me? The three of us can talk about the new waiter some other time. Meanwhile, can I PLEASE sing my song? I hate being interrupted!"
Pepper Ann asked, "What was that, Nicky?"
Nicky, who was getting angry at being ignored, shouted at them, "OH FORGET IT!! Neither of you will pay attention to me. I'll sing my song ELSEWHERE. Come on, Crying Girl! I'll take you to Freezy Pleezy for an ice cream cone. Then I'll sing you my song at my house."
Pepper Ann and Milo, who felt bad at ignoring Nicky, tried calling out to apologize to Nicky, but It was too late; she and Crying Girl were gone.
We now change scenes from the park, to the bedroom of Nicky's house. Nicky said to her, "Sorry about all that interruption. I'll sing you that song now." But as the music started up again, there was a knock on her bedroom door. It was Milo and Pepper Ann.
"Well, what do you both want?!"
"We want to hear you sing your song."
"I'm surprised you want to hear it now. I would have sang it to you, but neither of you two seemed interested. Why should I sing it to you now? This song was mainly for Crying Girl. It was meant to cheer her up. I tried to tell you two, but you didn't pay attention to a single word I was saying."
"Please sing it for us!" begged Pepper Ann.
"Well, alright then! But please be quiet."
The music started up, for the third time. Nicky's song went something like this:
When you have so much housework to do
And lots of homework too,
Please do a schedule plan
Just like Pepper Ann.
Then your work will be through
When you get home from school
And you gotta keep your cool,
Do all your housework first,
Take a break and then do your homework
And you won't feel cursed.
It won't take long,
As I say in this song,
Your workload will be through
And your mom will love you too!
After Nicky sang this song, Pepper Ann and Milo said to her, "Gee Nicky, that was a nice song, and inspiring. We won't ignore you, or interupt you ever again!"
They both left and Crying Girl, who felt better after hearing the song, gave Nicky a hug and thanked her then went home.
