Y&R's Scott Reeves Sounds Off
Soap Opera Update - May 12, 1998

The departure of Days Of Our Lives' Stephanie Cameron as Jennifer Deveraux has unleashed new rumors that Melissa Reeves, who abruptly departed the show in 1995 after a 10 year run, is this close to returning to the NBC soap. Many in the industry predict that Days can't do without the perennial heroine for too long, given the character's rich history. For now, unfortunately, it's nothing but wishful thinking.

"She's still so happy being at home," Melissa's husband, Scott Reeves, explains. "I think she would like to stay at home until the baby is in pre-school. She's more interested in pursuing film and primetime," the actor adds.

But don't count the actress out just yet. Reeves, herself, has continued to express interest in a possible daytime return. "If I got the chance, I would love to do another soap, as long as the role is interesting and challenging, that's all that would matter," Reeves told Update.

The Emmy nominated actress has been linked to several different West Coast soap operas, like General Hospital and The Bold and The Beautiful, but Reeves' husband claims that reports of her joining another soap have been greatly exaggerated. "She's been offered a lot of different things, but nothing that's gone further than a talk."
