Scene 1: Fade In (***** Flashback - To 3 months after the avalanche *****)

( The setting is an unknown office, somewhere in the world.)

A man is pacing in his office waiting for the phone to ring. It finally does. Rushing to the phone, he picks it up.

"O'Brien is that you", he asks forgoing the customary 'hello'. The man on the other end of the line replies that it is. "Well is it her?", he anxiously inquires.

"Yes it is. Your sources were right on the mark. But she is in pretty bad shape and can't be moved right now. It's a miracle that she's alive at all", O'Brien replies.

"Listen, get her the best medical help you can in that god forsaken place. I'm flying there immediately and I'm bringing my own medical personnel with me".

"Fine, we'll take care of her."

"Oh, and O'Brien, make sure your men keep quiet about this. You've got that?".

"Loud and clear. Don't worry, there won't be any slip ups".

"There better not be".

Scene 1: Fade Out

Scene 2: Fade In (the Present)

Amanda is taking a leisurely stroll around the lake on the Cory property. Her mind is busy with thoughts of wedding plans, though an occasional worry over her family business breaks through every now and then. But mostly, and happily, her thoughts are of Cameron ---- his penetrating green eyes that reach her soul and his unforgettable smile that lights up her world.

As she begins to walk back up to the house an intensifying shiver comes over Amanda, piercing her like a knife. Startled, she flinches, as she flashes back to a similar experience she had 3 months after the horrific avalanche. As now, she had the inexplicable premonition that Alli was alive and that she needed her. She was lost and searching for her way back home. This frightens her more than the dreams for they were only illusions. This is much more real ----- after all, she is awake.

"This isn't real. Just let it go or you'll drive yourself crazy", she tells herself as she tries to dismiss it…..but an ominous feeling remains with her long after this day has ended. Scene 2: Fade Out

Scene 3: Fade In (Some where in another part of the world - the same day as Scene 2)

martly dressed man is sitting at a desk when another man, named Charles, also well dressed, enters the room. "Excuse me sir".

"Yes Charles?", the man sitting down replies as he looks up.

"I just wanted to inform you that what you have requested has been completed. The Academie de Aiglon in Lucerne as been notified of the situation and, though they understand your decision to remain silent until now, they are concerned that your failure to report this in a more timely manner could result in great embarrassment to their reputation".

"Well their failure to ensure the safety of my daughter and their unsuccessful attempts to rescue her from that mountain, could result in their demise, if I choose to take that course. But being that I have a great deal to be thankful for, I am more than willing to assist them in dealing with the situation, both monetarily and publicly. Please inform them of my generous offer".

"Very good sir".

"And Charles, what about notifying the news media?".

"The school wishes to handle that themselves. Being the delicate situation that it is, they need time to determine the best course of action".

The man smiles, "Indeed they do. That will be all Charles, and thank you for handling this so expediently".

"Thank you, sir. That is very kind of you to say so. Sir, if you please permit me, may I inquire on the health of your daughter?".

"Yes you may, Charles. Thank you for asking. My daughter is making steady progress, although she still has a ways to go. I am hopeful that not before long, I will be able to bring her home.

"That is wonderful news indeed, sir. Please let me know if there is anything else you need of me".

"Thank you, Charles. I will let you know when your services are further required. That will be all for now. Good day".

"Thank you, sir. Good day". Charles leaves as the man in the chair smiles. Then, a moment later he picks up the phone and places a call.

"O'Brien, it's Bartlett. It's time to put the plan in motion ----- immediately".

ACT 7

Scene 1: Fade In

Amanda is her room looking through her jewelry box when someone comes from behind and grabs her around her waist with one arm. Startled for only a moment, Amanda begins to smile as she feels the kisses on her neck.

"Whoever you are", she amorously coos, "don't stop".

"If you can't tell who it is, I guess more practice is in order", the voice from behind says.

Turning around, Amanda puts her arms around Cameron's neck. "Well everyone knows practice makes perfect", she tells him as they begin to passionately kiss.

Eventually they take a breather as Amanda asks, "Not that I'm not happy to see you, but what are you doing here? The engagement party is in a few hours".

"Well I know that once the party begins, I won't be able to get you alone for hours. So I came here to tell you that I love you (he kisses the left side of her neck) and to give you these" (he kisses the right side of her neck), as he shows her the yellow roses (her favorite) that he was hiding behind his back with his other arm.

"Oh their so beautiful", a thrilled Amanda exclaims. "Thank you, Cameron. I love you", she tells him, as she kisses him tenderly.

"You're welcome, Princess", he replies as he kisses her back. "So what where you doing when I came in", he asks her.

"Oh, I was just trying to figure out what jewelry to wear tonight", she replies as she goes back to the box again.

He looks down at it and sees the necklace Amanda had sent to Alli for her birthday last year. The boarding school had returned all of Alli's possessions to her mother. "Why don't you wear this", he tells her as he picks up the necklace. "I think Alli would have wanted you to".

Amanda smiles. "So do I".

Scene 1: Fade Out

Scene 2: Fade In (a few moments later)

Cameron and Amanda are walking down the hall steps as he is about to leave to go home and get ready for the engagement party that Rachel is throwing for them, when Matt comes rushing through the front door, with Gary right behind him.

"Amanda!…..Oh good, you're here too Cameron", an excited Matt observes as his emotions are running high.

"Matt, what is it? What's wrong?", a concerned Amanda asks.

"Not what's wrong - what's right", he excitedly informs her. "Where's mom? She's got to hear this too".

"She's in the library", a befuddled Amanda answers as a confused Cameron remains silent. They then all proceed to the library.

Rachel looks up at all the energy and confused faces converging on her at the same time. "What's going on?", she throws out for anyone to answer.

"Mom, we just got our first real lead on the stolen money", Matt excitedly tells her.

"What?", Rachel, Amanda and Cameron all ask at the same time.

"Gary, why don't you fill everyone in", Matt requests. "After all, it was yours and Cameron's brainstorm that got us this".

"I'd be more than happy to", Gary answers. Then looking at Cameron, Gary smiles. "Albert came through for us, Bro".

Cameron's eyes light up with excitement. "You're kidding. He really pulled it off?".

Gary nods his head in agreement, as Amanda asks, "Who's Albert?".

"He's the new computer nerd working at the Herald that Chris Madison led us to. He can get into just about any computer in the world and work his magic getting the dope on things people don't want you to get the dope on", Cameron wryly says.

Gary continues. "Cameron and I had the idea that maybe Scott had time to deposit the money while he held Amanda and Cam captive in the basement, being that he was gone for so many hours".

"But Gary", Rachel interrupts. We also thought of that as a possibility and had our people contact all the surrounding banks. We even had the International Banking Commission notify us if any large deposits were made anywhere in the world. And nothing panned out".

"That's because we were all looking for large deposits of 1 million or more. No one was thinking small".

"What do you mean?", Amanda asks.

"We were all thinking in terms of millions of dollars deposits occurring on one day. Cam and I starting thinking, 'What if there were many smaller deposits made in multiple banks across all the neighboring islands?' They are all only a few minutes away by plane from Boca Lynda. Trying to trace all those steps could take months though, not to mention cooperation from various authorities of all the countries --- cooperation that even our own government agencies couldn't be assured of getting". So we got the idea, 'Why not let our fingers do the walking', if you know what I mean ---- through the Internet. Only we knew, this would take more than our very limited knowledge of computers to accomplish".

"So that's where Albert comes in", Cameron interjects. "I was talking to Chris one day about a case I was working on, and he told me about Albert, this new guy the Herald just hired. He's a whiz with computers and programming. What he lacks in personality, he makes up in brains", he jokingly adds. "So I asked him for help on that case, and within a day, he got me the needed information that would have taken months to find ---- if we were even able to find it at all". Then, turning to Gary, Cameron says, "So the little pea-brain pulled it off ".

"He sure did, Bro", Gary replies smiling.

"Well for god sakes get to the point and explain all of this", Rachel implores them.

Gary continues with the story. "Albert discovered that $100,000 deposits were made in 10 different banks, across the neighboring islands, starting on the day Scott forced Amanda to withdrawal the Cory money".

"But Gary, that would account for only 1 million dollars, and a lot more was stolen than that", Rachel informs him.

"Well, here's the kicker", Gary replies. This was done 5 times a week, like clock work over a 4 week period. That equates to 20 million dollars. Now I know that is not all of the money stolen, but it's most of it. He did need pocket money after all", Gary humorously adds.

"But how can that be? Scott was killed in that explosion. It has to be just a coincidence", Amanda offers.

"That's what we thought at first", Matt explains. "But I had connections on a few of the islands from doing previous Cory business. They were able to get me the paperwork of the accounts opened on that day. All ten accounts were open on the same day --- the day of the explosion --- under different names. But here's the most interesting aspect. Upon reviewing the documents, we discovered that the accounts all appear to have been opened by the same person. They all had the same handwriting. We just need to have them verified by a handwriting expert".

"But how could this be?, Amanda asks. " Scott was killed in the explosion. That means that he could not have made the follow-up deposits".

"He must of had an accomplice who continued with this deception. Also, once the account was opened by someone, deposits can be made without the person being present", Matt answers. "And as for the different names, fake IDs can easily be obtained and made to look authentic".

"Yeah, we do it all the time", Gary acknowledges.

"This is unbelievable", Rachel proclaims. "What's our next step?".

"Well first, mom", Matt says, "we need to get Scott Guthrie's handwriting samples from any documents you may have from when he was working at Cory's. We'll send them to the handwriting expert to prove whether or not it was Scott who opened the accounts.

"The next step", Gary continues, "is to check out the withdrawals. To see if there is any pattern that can lead us to where the money went and who withdrew it. I have Albert working on that now. Matt is going to check with the Cory business contacts in the surrounding islands to see if they know anything. Cass is checking with the banks, and Cameron and I will see what we can dig up on our own".

"This is unbelievable", Rachel exclaims, as both she and Amanda cannot believe what they are hearing. "At least we have some hope now of getting that money back". Then looking at Cameron and Gary, she adds, "Thank you for all that you are doing for us". Both brothers smile back at her. "I'll get you the samples first thing tomorrow morning, and anything else you need", she continues. "But now my attentions are on throwing my daughter and soon-to-be son-in -law their engagement party tonight. So I suggest to all of you to get moving and get ready for a night of celebration".

As they all leave, Amanda walks Cameron and Gary to the front door. Gary waits outside to let the two lovebirds say goodbye to each other. Cameron kisses Amanda and says, "See you later Princess. Tonight is a night we will remember", he smiles. Then kissing her one last time, he leaves.

No truer words were ever spoken. Unfortunately, it will be a night they soon will wish they could forget.
