Now that Tess has brought five-year-old Benjy to Sunset Beach to stir the pot between Ben, Meg, and Maria, "things are going to be a little more compilicated than they already are," teases newcomer Tracy Melchior. Melchior's own career has taken several complicated turns before she could land on the beach! After several guest-star stints, she decided to return to college and study psychology. "That's what actors do if they don't succeed: go into psychology or stripping. Stripping was out of the question since my dad has a gun," jokes the good-natured actress. Now, the books have been put on hold as Melchior focuses on her job, and soon-to-be hubby, LAPD SWAT officer Rob Melchior. - Soap Opera Update Tracy Melchior (Tess) is caught in the middle. The actress, who joined SUN earlier this month [March, '99] as the latest thorn in Ben and Meg's side, admits that when it comes to the soap's most explosive triangle, even she can't choose sides. The In Depth Story: "I know that a lot of people root for Meg and certain people root for Maria, but I'm kind of torn," she admits. "It's hard because, once someone is married, that's forever. But at the same time, it's so endearing to see hom much Ben and Meg are in love." And while Lindsey won't reveal what impact Tess, or her ward, Benjy, will have on the plot's outcome, she admits that it's been a great ride so far. "I'm so thrilled to be part of that story because it's in the forefront and, personally, it's my favorite." Her birthday is June 22nd.- Soaps In Depth
